We really enjoy coming here, but very disappointed in the recent menu changes! No more Fish N Chips with the awesome steak fries?!?!? No more filets...what the heck? Bring back the favorites! read more

Yall, this place. We just finished a work-week lunch here and I am already thinking about when we can circle back to try dinner. I feel like the whole local produce, farm-to-table trend is everywhere, with every new restaurant making that their shtick. When it is done well though, I don't care if it is chosen because the chef was raised on a farm or they are just trying to be current... it makes for some Good Food. F n G not only uses fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, but they have changing seasonal menus. Our waitress told us that their new menu and specials will be available mid-month. The lunch menu had some delicious sounding soup, sandwich, and salad options, making it hard to pick. We decided on splitting the salad special and a turkey sandwich ( I love splitting, no order-envy!). The salad had 6 cheeses, tomatoes, bacon, and a peppery/slightly sweet "Not Ranch" house dressing that I would happily buy jars of. The Turkey n Bourbon Cranberry Sandwich came with red onion, gruyere, a tart cranberry sauce, and was served on thick slices of soft focaccia bread. It was like thanksgiving leftovers, upgraded x 50. For a side, you get a choice between salad, fries, or chips. We opted for the root chips- I'm sure their fries are good, but after trying those chips there is no going back. Our waitress was great, checking on us often and manning those tea refills like a boss. I also loved that she had the kitchen split our salad and sandwich for us because we mentioned we were sharing. I would have been happy to just have an extra plate, but now we didn't have to fight over the last taro chip. Another yelp inspired discovery I am so happy we found! read more

The food here is always decent, just wish the bar staff was better. "Jon" doesn't seem to have any passion for his job. No real greeting upon sit down. No smile. Kind of like a dark cloud is over his head. Fake it, bro. At these prices maybe you put in some effort. Your tip depends on it. I blame management for these issues. Perhaps the general manager is lazy and doesn't care. read more

Goat cheese app was great! Our server was great too. We went for happy hour and got two nice drinks, an app and a cup of soup (was sold as chicken tortilla but was more like a cheesy enchilada soup) for 23$. The only negative was that There was a wait when we got in for 20min and no bar seats. There was an open table without menus and a bar aside the kitchen but the host didn't let us know we could sit there. We waited awkwardly for 10min before the host informed us we could sit at the kitchen bar with no wait and full service. Would have liked to know that when we walked in! Would have been perfect if we hadn't unnecessarily waited for 10. Other than that everyone was nice and the food was good. read more

We had not visited this new city center area of Keller before, and were impressed with the site so we entered FnG with high expectations, and we were not disappointed. Pots of herbs along the entry way and inside preview the attention given to local and fresh foods by the creative chefs. The menu is small with a few nightly specials thrown in that sounded wonderful, if priced on the high side of the menu. At our server's suggestion, we tried two of the appetizers. We preferred the Primadita, an unusual concoction that was like a chopped roast beef sandwich on pita bread that was so tasty. It would satisfy a lighter appetite as a meal. The other JAC n Roqamole (a guacamole dip and a cheese dip with tortilla chips - not quite that simple) was OK, though we found the cheesy part a bit too salty for our 'trying to be salt free' living. Dinners were tasty. My Macadamia Club Salad was an interesting variation of a club sandwich with macadamia crusted chicken breasts, avocado, bacon, field greens, cheddar, swiss, and a honey mustard dressing. I couldn't eat it all and I must let you know that my dog truly did enjoy the rest, lettuce included! My dining companion's hamburger was nothing unusual. Our friends liked their fish and chips, which our server said is the most popular dish on the menu. Restaurant was full so we were happy that we had made reservations and were seated promptly - nice that they take reservations since it was a bit of a jaunt for us to get to this restaurant. It is a happy atmosphere, and somewhat noisy. We would happily eat here again, but unless we have plans to be in Keller, I'm not sure that we will make a special effort to go just for the restaurant. read more

We went here for the first time for lunch and the short answer is we will be going back again. Like many, we've wanted to check them out for a while, but hadn't made the time to do so. We are really glad we decided to do so. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the aroma. It's not the aroma of food, though, but rather the wood-fired grill. It's a very nice thing to run into right at first. The menu selections at lunch were varied and covered quite a few different areas. Since it was lunch, it was burgers and sandwiches with fries and "root chips." The burger was done nicely and the Rueben-esque sandwich was outstanding. Our server was good, attentive, but not overbearing. The atmosphere is friendly and the bar looks extremely well done. They feature Deep Eddy vodka and cocktails made from the various flavored vodkas available. We will be trying those next time we visit. The prices are reasonable as well. I definitely recommend trying FnG eats. read more

I was really looking forward to trying this place out, since it's in the neighborhood. I was pretty disappointed overall with the meal. For an appetizer we ordered the Artichoke, it was pretty bland, the sauce that came with it made it somewhat better. For an entree we ordered the Ribeye. The flavor was OK, but the meat was very tough. The side of scalloped potatoes was nothing special, they tasted like something I could make at home (not a good thing). I am willing to give it another try though because the menu looks good, and the atmosphere and servers are good, and one of the chefs came out to say hello. read more

I am so happy we found this gem. We just moved here from the Ny Metro area and our taste buds have been very sad. On Sunday we ended up here, with two small children in tow, around 1130am. Warm welcome. Smelled so good...wood fire. Yum. Very cute inside. Everyone eating looked happy. Sunday brunch, $3 mimosas! Yeah! I had the calabasa and queso soup and while very different, I have been thinking about it ever since. delicious!!!!! I had the iceberg cob and my husband had he macadamia chicken salad. Fan-frickin- tabulous!! The boys had nice meant options too. The burgers were great and small enough to not overwhelm their tiny taste buds. The cherry on top? The hostess brought over fresh fruit for my boys while we waited... It was so nice of her and really helped to keep them at bay. Thanks! We ate well for under $40 before tip. That's a big deal for these foodies! We shall return! read more

We always seem to find our way back here. It's a little out of the way but the food is great and eclectic...something generally missing from the Keller/Southlake/Grapevine scene. We always get the deviled eggs as an appetizer which wifey says are "almost as good as her moms". I don't have the courage to tell her that they are better. In any event, this place is great. I just wish they'd open one up in Southlake Town Center. read more

We happened to pop in during happy hour and let me tell you, their drink and app deals can't be beat during happy hour. I had the Derby and it was a great combination of whiskey and smooth flavors, I enjoyed it immensely. We tried the LODO appetizer, queso and black bean purée with house made chips . We seriously considered ordering a second order and making a meal of those alone! We ordered a burger which was tasty and cooked perfectly along with the brisket cottage pie. The latter was a smoky, delicious take on the classic Shepard's pie. My only regret was getting too full to try one of the amazing looking desserts! read more

There was a lot of hype surrounding this restaurant and maybe my expectations were too high. Regardless, it was mediocre. My salad had a bug in it which they swapped out for a grilled chicken sandwich. It was decent. The wedge of Brie was almost 1/2 thick on one side with the rind making it cumbersome to eat. The grilled apples were soggy & the bun fell apart. It was defiantly not a $13 sandwich. One last thing, and this is more of a pet peeve than anything, once my replacement meal came out server quit refilling my water. Not once did he come back by with water. The guest with me received 3 refills on tea though. Service was somewhat slow, especially considering we beat the lunch rush and were there by 11:20 on a Tuesday. read more

Food is good, but not the best. Services is just okay. They are not rude, but not really attentive either. Steaks are small for $30+ a plate. The loaded chicken was great, as was bison burger and FnG burger. We tried their bread pudding, which was the house specialty. It was good, but again, a bit small on the portion. The drinks are decent, but also small in size compare relative to the price. It is in a great shopping location, with upscale deco, and a lot of customer traffic. Restaurant itself is bright, clean, with trendy decoration. read more

I was in the neighborhood and checked Yelp for recommendations. Here's mine: CAB (certified Angus beef) cheeseburger on brioche roll--tasteless and very greasy (greasy cannot translate into juicy). Preformed patty with faint grill marks that tasted like the patty (pre-seared on a grill) was cooked for service on a griddle and steamed. The French fries were non-description and plentiful. The establishment appears to be a watering hole and quick bite outpost for regulars and commuters during rush hour. Check it out for yourself. I just find that really good burgers are rarely found these days. This one was $11, including fries. Review: Not FnG read more

Wow! Okay, so I dined here last evening for my mothers' 55th birthday for the first time. GREAT EXPERIENCE! I booked the party room for 20-25 people with Misty. She was amazing, efficient & super polite. Even when she was out of town for the weekend I was able to finalize details with Patricia. We were running late and had people cancel but the servers Cara & Juan & a manager assisted in rearranging the room upon my arrival. They made one big table for my reduced size of 18 and were super helpful with the last minute changes and getting the wine on the table & the custom menus. The room was perfect for my group & 20s themed dinner. We had a chance to drink at the bar prior to starting the dinner and Cara & Juan came to us and took our drink orders. They made us feel special all evening. They were fun & super knowledgable and we just had an absolute blast. The steak was amazing, as were the chips that were on the appetizer menu with the cheese YUMM. So was the cornbread. And they had my mothers favorite wine & mine as well (santa margarita & belle glos - sp*) (i do private events for a living and i am reasonable but still hard to please, they succeeded in all aspects of my experience i was really really really pleased!) read more

The food was pretty good, but our waitress was really slow and didn't give us as much attention as other servers seemed to be giving. We saw our food sitting out for a few minutes and didn't see our waitress anywhere, and finally another waitress just brought us our food (thankfully, we were hungry). The macadamia nut fried chicken was really good, and I was a big fan of the cornbread waffles - my MIL didn't like them so much, but she's from new york... I got to eat most of her's :) The salad was a bit disappointing, might have been the dressing. read more

Food is OK, but service has declined. Ordered the pot roast with 3-cheese scalloped potatoes, but instead it was served with huge noodles. The change was not mentioned when we ordered. When we questioned the change, they said they're "transitioning" the menu. Funny - told us the same thing in February. Server told us they didn't have mashed potatoes which we asked for instead. We pointed out that the specials she had told us about both had mashed potatoes. She then told us she's not allowed to serve them with the pot roast because they're reserved for the specials. At 8:00 PM on a Monday night, are they really going to run out of potatoes? Menu is dated "Summer/Winter 2022" and the drink specials on the table were dated "December 2022" and had drinks with Christmas-themed names. It's March 27, 2023. Maybe they're too cheap to change the menus and instead keep telling people they're transitioning? Forgot to serve us the soup - had to flag down a server to get it. We sent the pot roast back. $22 for one small piece of Red Barn Chicken and a vegetable, which I just realized was missing the sauce. Won't be going back anytime soon. read more

not a good effort by them yesterday. the triple dip appetizer was nothing like it used to be and they were way too sweet. we told the manager and he said they didn't look right when they came out and that each chef adds his own twist to the recipe. no offer to take the appetizer off the check or to substitute it for another. We werv clearly disappointed since we didn't eat it. . the burger we split was the special with goat cheese and we both scraped it off and ate the burger plain. when the check came we told our waitress about our experience and she kind of froze but again no offer was made to fix their problem. we have met the owner before and he would have been much more customer friendly. $80 for a bad meal is too much read more

Visited FnG with some of my girlfriends and our young babies. A more expensive lunch date choice but we frequent FNG because of its unique menu and delicious food. Unfortunately this might be my last visit. A hostess and waitress would not let us use a high chair for our young children. We had a group of 4 women and two babies, age 2. She wouldn't allow us to push two tables together so that we could sit together and refused to let us have a high chair at the booth. She claimed "for fire code reasons". Odd to me since there were other tables pushed together and we've never had this issue before at any other restaurant. We ended up having kids sit in our lap- the kids bounce all over the booth, play under the table, claw at the artwork on the wall. We couldn't enjoy our meal at all. If this is truly a fire code issue, I hope that the owner works to get some tables more fitting for larger groups with children. Like I said, we have always loved the food. read more

Hands down, my favorite restaurant in town. My wife and I eat here every chance we get. Happy hour is awesome. We've had a chance to try most of the appetizers. I absolutely love the fried goat cheese. They have one of the better steaks I've had in the area. Brunch is wonderful. I find it difficult to find something I don't love. Chefs Bob and Carlos make it a point to stop at tables and visit with diners, and are both genuine guys. The atmosphere is great. It can be a special occasion dress up place, or a casual place to grab a great dinner during the week. It seems to be a hideaway that only locals know about away from the bigger parts of the city. You would be hard pressed to find a better place in the dfw area, especially at the price. read more
