Instead of taking responsibility for the result and trying to understand why I was unhappy, the stylist repeatedly shifted the conversation toward blaming me. I was made to feel that the problem was somehow related to my language barrier and cultural differences in communication. At one point, the conversation even became about money and what I had paid for -- essentially, "You didn't pay for the whole highlight, right?" -- which felt completely inappropriate and shaming. I have never experienced this level of disrespect or lack of accountability in a beauty salon. I left feeling sad, embarrassed, and unwelcome, when I had simply come in expecting professional service and to be heard as a client. I want to be clear that I don't believe this experience represents the values of the entire salon or its owners. My issue is specifically with this individual stylist and the way he handled a situation when the result did not meet my expectations. I am sharing this so other women, especially those who may have a language or cultural communication difference, know to make sure their concerns are genuinely listened to and treated respectfully. A client should never be made to feel guilty or ashamed for expressing disappointment with a service.

MONEY HUNGRY, RUDE, SELFISH, DISRESPECTFUL, INCONSIDERATE!!! I had an appointment at 4 pm and they called me 10 minutes to 4 telling me my appointment was at 3:45 where I was certain & I had called earlier that day to confirm it was at 4! I don't know if they were trying to rush me to squeeze in another customer before the end of the day or what it was, anyways I told the woman it was at 4 & she started arguing with me and saying I had to be there by 4 or the appointment would be cancelled and it was rainy out & we got stuck in traffic so I arrived a bit later than 4 (but not too late) & I WAS TOLD I COULDN'T USE THE GROUPON & COULD ONLY USE THE AMOUNT I HAD PAID FOR ON THE GROUPON TOWARDS FULL PRICE PAYMENT SINCE I HAD ARRIVED LATE & HADN'T CANCELLED saying this was their "policy" since I had arrived late and hadn't cancelled 24 hours in advance (apparently THEY CANCELLED ON MY BEHALF BEFORE I EVEN ARRIVED THERE EVEN THOUGH THEY KNEW I WAS COMING, of course, it was the same woman I had talked to on the phone)!!!!!!!!!! They actually had the nerve to ask me to reschedule an appointment at full price after dragging me in the rain and traffic then trashing me like that!!! I was shocked as it was my first time hearing such "policies", so when I went home (after wasting my afternoon trying to get there in the rain) I took another look at the groupon finding no such policies listed on there so I waited until a few days later for the salon to open again & called asking to speak to the manager, leaving my name and number & was surprised to find the same person who had trashed me calling me back!!! I pointed out there were no such policies on the groupon but was told there is since on the Groupon it was written "24-hr cancellation notice required" !!!!! What does that have to do with being cancelled when you're only late by minutes & having to pay full price?????!!!!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON SUCH LOW-LIFE, LOW-CHARACTERED "PEOPLE" , GO FOR BETTER SALONS WHO AREN'T CHEAP & DON'T TRASH YOU AFTER DRAGGING YOU OUT THERE IN HEAVY RAIN & TRAFFIC, ONLY TO TURN YOU BACK AROUND & RESCHEDULE FOR EXTRA GRUB!!! My experience at FM hair studio was fantastic. As a guy, I've never been too particular about my haircuts since 15 dollars at great clips usually left me with flaws that I grew to accept. That is until I found Diana, whom I have now deemed my permanent stylist. I have never walked out of the place with any feelings other than complete satisfaction. She is great at what she does and has a very personable demeanor. I hold her in high regards and would recommend her to anyone seeking a fabulous hair cut. I made an appointment with Michele following a really bad (really, really bad) haircut yielded by a visit from a different salon. Michele was amazing! I felt very welcome at the salon - and more importantly, Michele was very communicative. She asked me lots of questions about the cut I wanted and the preferences I had. My hair stylist, Jose, has truly brought my hair color to life and has coached me to understand that some colors are a PROCESS. Stephen and Kaylan (who used to work here) are absolutely amazing. I had a terrible color at a different salon and went to Stephen to correct it. He is a miracle worker! I went to Nizme for my hair and was extremely surprised by how smooth she got it! Most blowouts I get still leaves my hair a little curly at the roots and they all suggest I get a straightening treatment which I refuse to do I'm scared I'll lose my curl pattern a true artist at her craft. I originally started coming to Marin for my colorist Michelle DiGiovanni. (Which is definitely a plus in my book) Michelle also introduced me to my stylist Bria Salvador-French who I've been seeing now for the last year. So here's how this…read moregoes: - You must wear a mask. - Temperature check at the door. - Hand sanitizer squirted on you at the door. - Capes are single-use only. - Staff wear masks and and sanitize themselves and absolutely everything. - Half capacity and social distancing. No other clients were near me and there were only two other clients there. - Medical grade air purifier. Plus fans at every station. While my color was processing, I was able to go out to their back patio and enjoy the weather. The patio is super cute and comfy. (And you can take your mask off out there if you want.) No one else was out on the patio with me. All the precautions were taken. And my hair, as usual, is beautiful. Bobby, as always, is super wonderful. And they're doing a great job to keep everyone safe. So if you're worried (like me) about getting your hair done in this new world, know that this place is doing their part and it's ok. Plus, I just feel dramatically different and happier after having gone 5 months without getting a cut or color (I'm normally on a ~2 month schedule). So now I can go back to staying safely at home with a happier view of myself.

I showed Ellie like 15 different goal pics, and a confusing, oxymoronic explanation of what I wanted. Well, Ellie understood me perfectly and when she dried the first section of my hair my jaw was on the floor. I told her I just wanted to look like me again (natural dishwater blonde, which is hard to nail with color). Her color combo was perfect, the application was flawless, and now 4 days later my hair still feels so healthy, bouncy, and full of life. I have been going to Nikki at Hairitics since 2020 and I cannot recommend a more chill and up front place to get a haircut in Logan Square. If you're a dude and don't want to go a hyper-masculine barber shop where they will talk trash and pretend it's the 50's this spot is worth checking out. The prices are fair and I've always gotten great haircuts here (short and long haircuts).
