I came here after a horrible experience at the Jasmine Flower Spa located in Soquel. I have to say that the decor and ambiance dose leave something to be desired. With that being said the lady at reception spoke little to no English, but I was able to communicate with her through Google Translate. Despite the language barrier she provided a level of customer service far beyond the aforementioned spa. She was kind and friendly. Had a very long day and wanted to wined down. I scheduled an appointment for a 90 min massage for me and my spouse. It's close to home and usually good. We arrived and no one was in the lobby, rang the bell waited. 5mins or so went by and finally someone came to the front to greet us. We paid and was brought to our room. We changed and waited until 7:12 before anyone came in. Then when they finally came in there was nothing but laughing, talking , baby crying, outside people talking throughout the entire massage. My lady just used her elbows and briefly did my legs and feet. Kept running in and out of the room. Got into a loud argument with a guy while the door was wide open as I am exposed on the table. The horror finally ended and we were getting ready to leave. I usually tip very well but instead I spoke to the lady up front and was met with hostility and rudness. I asked for a partial refund and advised they are lucky I didn't ask for my full 160 back for the bad experience I encountered. I now have to go to my spot off Soquel and ocean to pay another 120 to get proper service and a massage. Please note I don't like leaving reviews like this because I prefer to support and uplift local businesses but it's also on their part to contribute and add to the experience especially when providing a service like this. read more

I once had the experience of the masseuse leaving the room 10min into the massage (presumably to deal with someone at front door because the owners too cheap to hire someone to sit there). THIS IS #1 NO NO. You simple DONT DO THIS in massage. Once the massage has started, unless the building is on fire, they need to finish in a continuous experience. So afterwords, I called the only male I've even spoken to and explained to him the situation. I told him i would give them ONE MORE CHANCE, but this CANNOT HAPPEN. He assured me it would not. I booked for same day, and told him 7pm, this is the last time if the same problem happens....again, he assured me oh no, everything is fine. So guess what? Just had my first experience at the new location. The masseuse had her baby in the room watching cartoons during my entire 30 minute massage. Wasn't very relaxing to listen to Cocomelon and Baby Shark during the entirety of my massage. Tried really hard not to laugh, but neither of us acknowledged the baby in the room at all. It was adequate, the foot massage was okay but a bit repetitive. the massage started out very good with the technician hitting very good presure points on my face and head, but after that it descended into mediocrity. Absolutely horrible experiences with this place. The first time I went, it was for a foot massage, and it was pretty good. I go for massages regularly so I try to buy packages or go to inexpensive places because I find massage to be so much more effective when kept up with. This place is right by where I work, so I decided to buy a package for body massages because it's convenient. I've done this with many other places before- works out to $40/hr with the purchase of 5 up front, which is a great deal. I always tip $15+ because the price for the massage is so low. If they are really great I give $20. I hate tipping culture in the US and people should not have to rely on the kindness of strangers to earn their living. That being said, the first body massage I had was fine after they switched out my therapist. The person that started the massage came in and went RIGHT into coming up on the table and digging elbows in to my back. I actually don't mind when they do this but never had I had someone do it with no warm up whatsoever. They just dug into cold muscles. After asking her repeatedly to stop, they brought in someone else that did an ok job. Second time I came in, I got someone who also spoke no English (normally I can manage with body language, so it's usually not a big deal) but had no way of communicating what I wanted so I just took what she gave me. Massage wasn't good, but that actually wasn't my biggest issue. Her phone went off 15+ times during the massage. I don't think she ever checked it but her iPhone chimed constantly throughout to the point that I was incredibly irritated. I mean, if it happens once and you turn it off, I can overlook it. It happens. But through the ENTIRE massage? Really? I'm not expecting 5 star quality service from this place, but come on. Third time I went in I was removing my clothing in the room when someone knocked on the door (I had been in there literally enough time to get undressed, maybe 30 seconds, they usually give you a couple of minutes) and I said "just a minute" and they flung open the door on me and a male therapist was passing in the hall behind my female therapist. I'm very comfortable once on the table because there is a reasonable expectation that they need to expose parts of you to work on them, but I really didn't want just anyone passing in the hallway to see me completely nude. She just stood there until I said "SHUT THE DOOR". I felt bad for the person getting a massage next to me- the walls are paper thin, if there are walls at all. Most of the rooms are separated by a thin sheet. After that, she came in and started a pretty sub par massage, but what really was the last straw for me was that she was obviously SICK. Like, really sick. Sniffled the entire time and while I felt terrible for her, all I could think about was how she may be wiping her nose (I could hear her nose running) and then putting her hands all over my body. I spent the entire massage listening to her sniffle. In addition to that, there were parts of the massage where she actually kind of hurt me. She pulled my fingers so hard I said "OUCH" and she laughed. Right after that her phone chimed and I'd had it. I asked her to stop. I wanted to just leave at that point. She didn't understand, "no", "stop", or "I'm finished". She pulled out her phone and opened a translator that I had to speak into. I said "I'm finished please leave" and she left. I walked out and for the first time in my life didn't leave a dime in tip. I tip everyone always, even if they didn't do a great job. I will NEVER return and will be contacting them to see if they can refund the last two massages I had left on my package. If they won't, I'll eat it. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

I booked 90 minute whole body massage appointment in advance after I had been experiencing some muscle tightness from a new exercise routine. It was close to home and had reasonable prices. When I got there, there was a woman who was outside walking her baby in a stroller, this I found was my massage therapist. She let me in and set me in the room, her baby began crying so she came back about 10 minutes later and began massage. About 10 minutes into the massage, I realized she had brought the baby into the room as it began crying during the massage. She attempted to keep massaging but finally took the baby out of the room and told me she called her husband to come get the baby so she could continue, she promised me extra time since we had lost about 20 minutes at that point. She left the door open and me exposed on the table. However, when her husband showed up, the baby kept crying and you can hear it through the door. Finally the baby stopped crying and I was able to relax. She did not give the best massage, lacking in pressure unless she was on a bone, the for whatever reason, she would press really hard causing me a lot of pain. The only really relaxing part was my feet, which she spent the majority of the time on despite the fact I asked for full body. When it was finished I checked the clock and it was 3:30p, so she did not give me full time despite having to find childcare for her baby during the massage. After going to this massage, it's particularly frustrating because I booked an appointment in advance to make sure someone was available, there should have been childcare arrangements made so there wasn't a baby in my session. Also, compensating for time lost would have been the right thing to do. Despite the prices being reasonable for the area, they are way too high for what is offered here. read more

What made it sour was at the end when I came to the front to pay and I wanted to give the employee who gave me the massage a tip but the owner sent her back before charging! I have been here before and had a great experience but things have changed. The foot massage used to include your shoulders, neck and arms. I called prior to my appointment to see what had changed due to covid and what their procedures were. They said the massage would be the same except for the face and that they required masks. Not true. The foot massage was truly an hour of just feet. I had to ask several times for more pressure. I received a 90 minute message from a middle aged male. He had me lay face down in the beginning. When he uncovered my back he folded the blanket to the middle of my butt. It felt like my whole crack was exposed. I reached down a covered my self. After that he started to rub oil on me. I think he put his penis on me wherever and whenever he got a chance. Tried to be patient but I moved my body away from his penis 10 or twelve times. At this point I was losing patients and then he started rubbing oil on my butt. He did not message me but sexually rubbed my ass!!! At that point I got up and stopped him. It was on that bed for 56 minutes being violated by this man. I demanded my money back which I had to threaten to call the police to get. I don't think he is a licensed massage therapist. I bet he has gotten his jollies many time. DONT GO THERE. For the record, you won't be getting a "spa experience" or most likely anything therapeutic here. But for $20/hr "foot massage", the massage is just as good as any of the other comparable places up and down 41st (or other places in the Bay Area). First, you start with a foot soak while you are reclined on your back and they massage your face, head and shoulders. Then, they move to your arms, then your feet and legs, then flip you over and do your back. As compared to China Massage, where I frequented, this place is (apparently running a new-business special) $20 vs. $25. And they have a more partitioned layout that makes you feel like you have a bit more privacy vs. all massage beds in one room. They also start you laying on your back rather than massaging your shoulders while you sit up, which always seemed a bit awkward to me. Last, they also give you a hot stone massage on your legs, which is a nice bonus. I always like to bring my own lotion, so my skin doesn't break-out with whatever they use. And, I haven't tried the body massage, because "foot" seems to do the trick and leave me with more budget to visit more frequently. As with all other massage places, each experience seems to be a little hit-n-miss, depending on which masseur/masseuse you get and their energy level. But, I always walk out an hour later feeling a bit more relaxed, all for $20 + a generous tip. (For such a value, please be generous with gratuity!) So it's all good. read more

Then, I overheard another massage session going on next to me behind the curtain. Some man was moaning and groaning the entire hour. The masseuses were also talking to each other. Twice the lady giving the massage left long enough for me to consider getting up and leaving. The only reason I stayed is because they probably realized from others doing just that that they need to have people pay up front. The gal giving the massage obviously was not at interested in doing a good job, in fact I felt like she was annoyed at my nerve of coming in and making her actually have to work. I have a friend visiting from D.C who booked and showed up for a two hour massage today. I dropped her off (we didn't read these reviews first, big mistake). She said the moment she walked in she felt like the woman hated her because she was an African American. I see others have experienced this there. The massage started late and was very rough to the point where Friend had to tell her to go easy-- which did not happen. When I picked her up 2.5 hours later she was walking stiffly and had tears in her eyes. She said it was very clinical, and the masseuse did not say one word during the entire two hours. Three times the masseuse left the room to argue loudly with staff about ?? The door was left open with a flimsy sheet over Friend's rear for anyone to see. Immediately after massage masseuse told her "get dressed" and before she could offer any tip (which she was planning to do after all that) the woman held out her hand and said "Tip." My friend had a $20 in hand but dug into her purse for two $5s instead. So rude! Once we got home my friend realized she left her hat there. We called and a man told her they had it and were open until 10. She itold him she was on her way & went to get it-- 6:00 The door was locked, no one answered. She called and same man said someone would open door at 6:15. She waited until 6:35, no one ever came or called. We called again and we're told where we could pick it up, in a cabinet inside door. I just went back to get it and door was wide open and hat was in a glass cabinet just inside door. Apparently this is lost and found, there was a lot of personal items, jewelry, glasses, etc displayed for anyone to take or see. No one was at front so I followed man's directions, got the hat, and left. The door closed behind me. I was in my car and leaving when the masseuse came out yelling at me! I said "I got my friend's hat!" And she stared-- just stared like... well, I don't have anything to compare that evil look to. I took off and I will never return nor allow a loved one to go there. Bad news all around. I am embarrassed I allowed a Friend to go to this dump where she was treated poorly and discriminated against. Luckily I had taken her to Refuge in Carmel last Tuesday where she received "the best, most intuitive, and deeply healing" massage of her life-- AND it was cheaper that this circus! read more
