I did not expect to write a his review. I went in for a last minute massage tonight while my kid was at baseball practice. I called in advance and they were accommodating. I will start by saying, this was one of the BEST massages of my life. My lower back and body has been really sore lately and I was so happy with the pressure and attention to detail the masseuse offered. She really gave me a great massage and even did hot stones (I didn't ask for them, but this was a great). The problem, and why I'm not sure if I'll ever go back: after the massage, I gave her my tip-- I generally tip 20 percent of I get good service regardless of if I'm at a restaurant, bar, or getting a massage or whatever. In the his case, my 90 minute massage was $100, so I had ed her a $20 bill. She actually said this word for word: "I want more! This is very hard work" I have never been asked by anyone at any establishment I've been to leave more of a tip than I chose to leave. I was in shock as I just went from a very satisfied and happy customer to feeling awkward and obligated in a matter of seconds. I ended up giving her $10 more, and I wish I hadn't. I honestly didn't have words to tell her as I was still ing some what it a dog post massage. If the owner reads this, or you were the owner giving me my massage: would you rather me come back over and over again and tip 20 percent (as I was planning to do because I was so stoked on the actual massage), or would you rather me never come back again because I'm now concerned that I have to deal with an employee asking me for more money after I had already paid $120? This would be 5 stars if she had just happily taken my tip and said thank you. I would have been back without a doubt. Maybe I will give them another shot, but I'm leaning towards a one and done. I saw another review by Paul with a very similar experience. Awkward and unprofessional to ask a patron for more tip money. read more

It is really helpful to have a place you can walk in to get a good massage in Scotts Valley. Unlike another walk-in establishment in the area, they give you straightforward pricing and you feel safe and that they are trustworthy. read more

I had a great massage at Scott valley massage. When I walked in very welcoming and clean. Cherry was my massage therapist, she was awesome. I would recommend her. At the end of massage nice stretch of body also a wonderful forehead and scalp massage. The best. So what I needed. I feel much afterwards. read more

Great massage. The last owner was amazing. The new owner is just as good if not better. I have had lower back pain forever. I went in to try it out and received an amazing message from the new owner. I will definitely keep going back. read more

Decent enough Chinese massage - fairly rough and fast. But I will never go back. The masseuse, Lucy, politely but firmly haggled with me about the tip, pushing for what turned out to be a 31% tip. I was so disgusted, I just paid and left. Should have stared her down and refused, but after a massage, I wasn't up to fighting with her. read more

I guess they changed ownership a month ago and would not honor a 1-hr massage gift certificate, even though it's identical to the ones they have on the desk. read more

True professionals. Super clean environment, made me feel super comfortable and fixed my messed up neck and shoulders

One of the best massages I've had in a long time, Coco is excellent! The blend of east/west techniques is very healing , with attention to pressure points and meridians. This is the place to go for a high-quality healing massage without all the frills of a fancy spa. Highly recommended Coco. read more

Well I found this quaint little place in Scotts Valley where I found myself pleasantly received by their masseuse Ula. She was very informative and very helpful with my stress points. She speaks fluent English so communication was perfect. I really enjoyed having her as my masseuse and plan to be back very soon. I look forward to continuing her services at this place. I would highly recommend you come to relax and enjoy a good relaxing massage. All the pertinent massage points were taken care of and relieved. Thank you Ula for your wonderful service. read more

I have been a happy customer over 5 years. When I have pain from over doing it at the gym or back pain this is where I go. Normally I don't like deep tissue work, but they fix problems with the appropriate pressure. It is clean, but not fancy. This is the best deal in town. read more

Scotts Valley Massage is just down the street from me so I've gone there several times. The shop is clean and quiet, and Ula always gives me a nice, professional massage. Additionally, she speaks English pretty well, so you can easily communicate what muscle groups need attention and whether you want more or less pressure. The price is reasonable as well. read more

I knew it was a bad sign when I entered and the masseuse was getting up wiping the sleep from her eyes and clearly a bit sleepy still. Bad sign number two was pay first. Guess is to wasnt meant to be because even though I called an hour before and made an appointment, she still denied to see me. This lady seemed really shady and I wouldn't recommend. read more

Don't waste your time or money. By far my worst massage ever. Who wants to get massaged behind your KNEES? Never even worked on my neck or shoulders. And she would leave the room without covering me with a sheet, leaving me completely naked. read more

Great Massage. Eva saw me on short notice as I was totally locked up with muscle spasms. Great job, felt so much better when I left. Thank you! read more

I had a really great massage. Very professional and the price was good too. I would highly recommend getting a massage here. I had an achy back and this massage made my back feels so much better. read more

Great service and amazing pricing! Friendly staff and professionally run - will be back soon!

Went in for a massage and ended up with a friend. Ula is warm, friendly and overall good at what she does. She took her time to find the knots in my body and by the time she was done I felt light and not as tense. I'll be going back. read more

They took my wife on very short notice. Extremely kind and a wonderful massage. I highly recommend them.

40 minutes of relaxation...great price for a massage that made me feel so much better. This place is exactly what I needed! Sandy is great, she knew just what my body needed. I came in for a 40 minute massage and left feeling taller, relaxed and happier. Well worth every penny. read more

I was able to get an appointment on short notice. But, there was only one person working, so she left my massage four times to answer the phone or attend to a walk-in customer. The massage was fair, not great. Would not recommend this place! read more

Just saw Amy...... wonderful massage..... booked a 30 minute just to try her out. Definitely going back...... she released a lot of tension in my upper back and neck. It was not a soft massage, at times it was pretty aggressive. Which is exactly what I wanted. Amy checks in on you, " are you ok?" throughout your massage. The prices are very reasonable and I was able to book the same day I called. read more

Hurt my back working in the yard, called ahead for a 5pm appointment and they got me right in. Lady focused on my lower right as instructed and it really helped. Thx read more

lovely relaxing massage. very attentive and thoughtful. nice warm room and friendly staff.

Very limited english here. But the massage was not bad, and the price was great. The room was a bit warmer than I like, and some of the techniques for deep tissue were a little off based on what I've had elsewhere. There was also too much included in this massage that was not deep tissue (like 2 minutes dedicated to belly rubs) which was a bit disappointing. That and my 90 minute massage ended 5 minutes early, so that was deducted from the tip. But at the end of the day, the prices are the best around. So I think it's a solid 4, I would plan to return. read more

Had my first (of many!) massages here today! Susan did a GREAT job. She was very attentive, checking in very often to make sure the pressure was what I wanted -- and it was. I haven't had a such a thorough deep tissue massage in ages. Wonderful! read more

Too soon to give this five stars but hands down better than Flying Crane. Only $50 for a 60-minute massage, and one of the better massages I've had. read more

Me and my friend just got massages here, the ladies did amazing!! I'll be back again soon.

Worst massage I have received. I made an appointment for 90 minutes and during the massage I changed it to 60 minutes. The lady jerked my body around in these weird circular motions and used way too much oil. I felt worse when we walked out than when I started. read more

Personally, I really like this place. Is it the best massage of all time? No. Is it very good and a terrific value? Yes. The ladies aren't communications specialists, but they know how to make a tired body feel better. And they're very kind. Note: I tip on my what the massage should cost, not what they charge. They appreciate that. One of my regular stops in the SC area. read more

The significant health benefits of therapeutic massage have motivated my husband and I to make it a priority in our lives. Once we understood and experienced those benefits, we have made it a point to find masseuses that we can trust to consistently provide a high quality massage for a good price - we found that in Sandy and Lili, the masseuse owners of Scotts Valley Massage. They score very high on all of our selection criteria - a consistently excellent therapeutic massage; a clean, comfortable, relaxing environment; and a genuinely caring relationship. It is very telling when they tune in to our individual stress points and give them attention without us needing to guide them. We are very pleased and have become long term customers. read more

Consistently give a great massage! My husband and I both do a lot of athletics and love this place. We can always get the time we want, they're clean, and super nice as well. read more

I was shopping at the Scotts Valley Market when I saw Scotts Valley Massage. My back was hurting so I gave them a try. The people were really nice and the place is clean. The massage was fantastic! It was a very healing and relaxing experience. I bought a gift certificate for a friend that really needs it. I will recommend them to all of my friends and family. They are busy so I would suggest making a reservation. read more

I had such a great experience at this salon. The staff was friendly and helpful and my massage was excellent. My massage therapist, LiLi, was awesome. Her room was very clean, as was the rest of the salon. I loved the warm colors. Very relaxing. I will definitely recommend them to family and friends. They were busy, but I didn't feel rushed at all. Also, I felt that their prices were very reasonable. I will be going again for sure. read more

An acquaintance suggested this new massage parlor. I guess it depends what you're looking for. I've had effective massages by well-trained and experienced masseuses. That isn't what I got at Scotts Valley Massage. Lili was welcoming and friendly, is obviously trying to make it in this country, and I wish her well, but her massage left me amazed that I didn't have bruises. Don't get me wrong, I like a good firm massage, but mostly I want one that leaves my muscles relaxed and flexible. Instead, I got an extremely painful and ineffective massage. My muscles burned afterward, and weren't a bit relaxed. Then, she had the nerve to complain that my tip wasn't big enough. I accommodated her, knowing I wouldn't be back. read more

I just had the worst massage of my life here. (I'd gone before and it had been pretty good). I asked for a 60 minute full body massage, and this gal literally spent 10 minutes rubbing the same area on one shoulder, with the same repetitive motion! I hate to speak up during a massage (thinking they'll get their groove on) but finally I said Um, ok you can move to another area now- so she did the same thing on the other side! So I said I want a full body massage, you know- arms, hands, legs, feet and she said "ok thank you" and proceeded to rub only the left side of my back for another 10 minutes! She finally did my arms and hands and legs very briefly, did not do my feet at all! Then to top it off, after signing my credit card slip and heading home, I get a call that I wasn't charged, and they wanted me to drive back to pay them. I checked my credit card and I HAD been charged, but then they had reversed it, so they are expecting me to go back and pay again. I told them I would as soon as I can, maybe not today (I'm not planning on not paying)... then I get a call from their bank, saying they said my card had been declined! Which it definitely hadn't . Heading back now with cash minus the tip to close out this unpleasant exchange. Stay clear of this business! read more

This place just opened up in Scotts Valley and is Awesome!. I had a fantastic one hour massage from Sandy, a co-owner, she listens and adjusts her style, pressure, technique when asked and she also asks YOU. I have had lots of massages and hate it when you say too much but they ignore you and keep grinding away. Very classy place. Clean, and well appointed decor makes it feel like your at a nice place. I highly recommend it. read more

Great massage. I need regular massage just to keep my body going and it isn't easy to find someone who can "read" your body. These therapists can do that very well. I would recommend Scotts Valley Massage to anyone. read more
