I need therapeutic massage due to my profession (pool service) I am not a snob when it comes to the establishment as long as it is clean and it has an actual massage table, not a donut pillow on top of a table. This place is small... 3 tables , 2 are in one room separated by a curtain which was fine since I was with my friend. This place would be good for a couples massage. ..you basically would have the place to yourself. We made our appointment last minute and they were able to accommodate us. They made sure to specify that it was cash only ,$79 for a 90 minute massage, we paid $100 with tip, which is still very reasonable. Okay now for the good part...Winnie was my masseuse...she was absolutely amazing, because of all my injuries due to my job I have a million knots and I cannot handle deep tissue (too painful) I did not have to say a word , she was so methodical and worked each section to assess my issues and then would stop right before it became too painful and would move onto another section and then come back for another pass. I left feeling like a new person. Not sure the name of the masseuse that treated my friend but she was Very happy also. What I really enjoyed most is that she spent time on my scalp, love that! I really recommend doing the 90 minutes...it enables her to really find and work on your problem areas. My son recommended this place to me and I am so happy he did...I will definitely go back again and again. read more

Massage was terrible & she did not listen to what I needed or asked for. She demanded a greater tip than what I provided despite terrible service. read more

The lady was so sweet and very strong like I asked. Very intentional in her technique, great customer service. The facility was very clean and organized and warm and inviting. I highly recommend this place. read more

Was so excited the first time I discovered this place. The appointment process was so easy. All I had to do was pick up the phone and my next day appointment for a 90-minute couples massage was on the books. Getting there was easy-peasy. The location was amazing -- right in downtown Capitola. Parking wasn't a hassle. And the massage was one of the best I'd say I've ever had. And so inexpensive for the area and quality! We tipped generously ($40) and left very satisfied. Last weekend I went back with a friend who was visiting from out of town. I must say that after hyping up this place to her I'm now a little embarrassed. We booked our appointments on the day of, so it was nice of them to accommodate us. But there are things about this visit that just put a really bad taste in my mouth. For starters, they were running late which delayed our appointments. But I didn't let that bother me too much. Worse, the quality of the massage this time was terrible. The masseuse spent the entire 90 minutes rubbing me with lotion or running over my muscles with her elbows. I have never in my life wanted a massage to be over so badly. I can honestly say I hated every minute of it and was relieved when she signaled that our time had come to an end. My friend had a similarly lackluster experience. We each paid $90 for the massage and $11 tip. The woman who accepted our payment wasn't satisfied and asked for more tip, which I thought was tacky. I will grant that the prices there are beyond reasonable but no one should ever make you feel badly about an elective extra payment. Walking away, I realized I didn't feel comfortable returning to this place. I hope with enough time I change my mind, but again, this experience left a really sour taste in my mouth. read more

I called on short notice for a one hour massage. She was able to schedule me right away. Winnie has such a great personality. On top of that, her skills as a masseuse are through the roof! At my request, she walked on my back. She was so nice in helping me with parking, being flexible with time and giving me a massage that was way above my expectation. I will be a return costumer. Thanks Winnie! read more

Went for a couples massage and had a great experience! Always calls back ASAP whenever looking for availability. Very attentive, quite affordable as well. Just scheduled another one! read more

Pretty good massage for a good price. I booked a couple's massage with Winnie a few weeks ago. She changed the time on me once because she said her partner could only come in around a certain time and I was fine with that. However the day of she called me and said that we had two separate massages back to back and that she never knew I had wanted a couple's massage. Pretty disappointed but I let it go. The massage itself was good. I've definitely had better but I think it was worth the price. When I paid, she didn't complain at all regarding the tip (I gave 20%). read more

Absolutely awesome place, Winnie is a treasure! Got a couples massage for our anaversary and it was absolutely fantastic. I accidentally overpaid and Winnie came running out after me and cleared it up. Her honesty made a lifetime customer out of me. She takes service with a smile and making you feel comfy to the next level!!! I have alot of peircings on my ears and body and Winnie never once caught a single one it was so nice not having to worry she is so attentive!!! This is the first time I've almost not wanted to review a place because I don't want this hidden jem to get booked weeks out! read more

Great massage!!! She definitely knows what she's doing! The prices are affordable and the service is great. Thank you!

"Oh sorry I forgot about your appointment" I mean, I get it. I'm a hairstylist. I make mistakes too. But a first time client who called the day before? You said you had no availability and if I could come in the next day. But your sign out front says "walk ins welcome" I didn't wash my hair last night because getting a massage always mucks it up. Got up & checked out of our room & hurried to make it there on time. Only to arrive to an empty place. We are leaving town & my boyfriend was kindly gonna wait for me while I got a 90 minute. We planned our day around it. I'd rather pay more to be valued. But I'm bummed. The 12pm appointment was fine but the whole point of a massage is to let go of stress, booking with your studio did the opposite for my life. I hate writing negative reviews, especially after our industry has been mandatorily closed for almost a year. But man, value people who want to patronize your business by not forgetting them entirely. That's very unprofessional. read more

I highly recommend Capitola Village Massage. Winnie is an excellent masseuse and you can't beat $49 for an hour-long full-body massage. The space is clean and I enjoy the privacy of the individual rooms, it makes the experience more relaxing. I recommend calling in advance! read more

To start it was a terrible massage. They never told us cash only, ended up walking around for 20 minutes afterwards looking for a functioning ATM. Finally found one, and then she complained that the tip wasn't enough (keep in mind it wasn't tip worthy to begin with) she went on an on how others tipped 3x that. Room was cold, didn't hit the one knot I mentioned I was there for, and overall immature unprofessional behavior. Save your time, save your money. read more

Winnie and her place are warm and welcoming. Very clean and comfortable. Winnie gave me one of the most thorough, relaxing and BEST 90 minute massage I've ever had! She worked my tight spots, relaxed my strained back and helped me feel so much better! I'll definitely be back and highly recommend Capitola Village Massage!!! And for the price you should tip well because she works hard! Thank you Winnie!!!! read more

Winnie prepared an area for me outside despite ash falling and Covid on the loose! Everything was sanitary, mindful and comfortable!! I felt cared for and looked after. The massage was thorough lovely and very very relaxing & therapeutic. She paid special attention to deep knots around my shoulders. Good massage at a great price! Winnie was able to fit me in last minute and was lovely. Highly recommended if you are looking for a good massage in the village. read more

Be prepared to pay a credit card fee, was charged $4 even though says $2 for credit cards reason was because I was paying for 2 massages... was trying to explain but don't think I was getting through. Just a way to get more money and I don't like that. They also shorted us 10 minutes on our massage. Been wanting to try that place, tried it but don't think I would go back read more

I had the same experience as Marie G. above. Winnie actually told me how much to tip her. I had a pretty good 90 minute massage and was feeling pretty relaxed. I've always thought a 15%-20% tip was fair when it came to massages, however Winnie looked shocked when I told her the amount I wanted to leave as a tip. It was as if she did not understand. I started with a 16% tip (the end of the massage kinda just felt like she was rubbing oil on me instead of actually massaging, but I wasn't too upset about it) but she told me that most customers give a $30 tip for 90 minute massages. That is more than 40%! I tried a few more times to offer her a little bit more but she just kept insisting that most customers give $30 tip for the massage and that it is hard to massage for 90 minutes. After going back and forth 5 or so times I just gave up and gave her what she wanted. I now feel resentful and will never be returning to her. Sadly, I cannot recommend this business even though her actual massage skills are quite good. read more

I had a 90 minute massage with Winnie and it was incredible. She's very thorough, focuses on problem areas she notices, and even worked on some acupressure points. She was very kind and made sure I enjoyed the massage. The price was absurdly cheap, just what was listed, and so I tipped well. I feel like for the price she's offering, she's giving you the opportunity to tip according to the service. I feel like the previous reviews that had issues with the price may have been communication errors, as shes still working on her English, but I would also say don't be insulting with the tip just because the price is so affordable. I've paid a ton more for much worse massages. She is very skilled and is offering her service well under market price. read more

I was in town for a long weekend and walked by Capitola Village Massage with a "walk-ins welcome" sign. My neck and shoulders had been quite tight so I popped in and Winnie was with a client. She told me to return in 30 minutes and I'm so glad I did. I chose a 30 minute massage with focus only on my shoulders and neck. Winnie's English isn't perfect -- you need to talk slowly and clearly for her -- but her massage technique is outstanding. She even applied some warm oil to my shoulder muscles to encourage them to relax. I returned only a few days later for a repeat 30 minute upper body massage. Winnie is professional and her rates are crazy reasonable. read more

Winnie is a wonderful massage therapist. The location was so easy to get to with parking! Clean and friendly atmosphere allowed us to relax and rejuvenate. We booked a same day couples massage and would definitely return for another! Thank you Capitole village massage! read more

This was my first massage experience and it was awesome. Winnie was the sweetest, per the review below I made sure to talk slow and communicating with her wasn't an issue. I booked a couples massage, I had to push my appointment an hour later, 30 minutes before my appointment due to my fault..and they were able to accommodate me with no issues (THANK YOU). We had massages from Winnie and Michael. Both very professional and made us feel comfortable. I will definitely be returning. The location is right on the street, not hard to find. Go get massage and then walk down and enjoy the beautiful views of the Capitola Village. read more

Great massage! Called in for one, brought another person and was accommodated. Both ladies were very sweet and did a great job. The atmosphere was relaxing and super clean. Defiantly recommend coming here! Will be back! Thank you ladies. read more

Excellent massage, amazing price. 60 minute deep tissue massage by experienced therapist for only $49, walk in. Highly recommend.

Are you exhausted from hanging out at the beach all day? Stressed from drinking too many margaritas on the esplanade? Then this is the place for you! Winnie will work all the tension out of your muscles so you can get back to your drinks and sun. Prices are excellent. Speak slowly on the phone, Winnie is still practicing her English but that's fine because her hands will be doing most of the talking. read more

I came in for a much needed massage after seeing advertisement for new massage salon in my neighborhood. I saw on website that $49 was for 1 hr regular massage and $69 for 1 hr deep tissue. I asked for deep tissue massage. The treatment itself was great. The massage was thorough and Winnie applied the right amount of pressure needed. However, I was completely disappointed when upon paying, Winnie did not seem satisfied with my tip (16% ). She said asked for a bigger tip and stated her thumb was "swollen" from the treatment. I was appalled and blind sided by her request as I had already paid the extra $20 for deep tissue plus tip. So, I gave her an extra $20 bill and asked to break it into $5 bills, she must have misunderstood me and only gave me a $5 bill back. At this point, I decided to let it go and not argue. So in the end, she ended up with a 38% tip ($26). I have never before been asked for a "bigger tip" and this is too bad because I was planning on booking massages every 6 weeks as I need them frequently due to the nature of my work. I felt like I was cornered for more money. Had I known I was going to pay a total of $95 at a massage parlor, I might as well should have paid an extra $50 for an actual spa experience at a spa. I will not be returning to this place nor would I recommend it as I feel like I was not appreciated as a customer. read more
