To wit, I've purchased made in Oregon cookies (the shortbread cookies are excellent), seasonings, seasoned nuts, chocolate-covered nuts and berries, local honey, and some other fun items as gifts for friends. We chatted and they gave me such a great sense of wanting to return, about a month later, I brought an out-of-state visiting friend there. The vibe was entirely different. A young-ish tall woman was the only salesperson on duty. She barely greeted us when we entered, paced around the floor with a pissed-off bored look on her face, fiddled with some stuff behind the counter, paced around impatiently some more, and did a stellar job of vibing us right out the door. There were a few other shoppers in the store and I noted they didn't stay long either. Totally baffling because my friend and I are your target demographic. We very likely would have done some serious shopping. Congrats on hiring someone who will make sure your store is empty, and safe from all those pesky and bothersome shoppers! Was it an ageism issue? Visiting this shop is fun just for seeing the lovely old historic home, but they also have a lot of very good merchandise, from jewelry to kitchen items and knick-knacks to clothing, including designer labels. Everything is very fairly priced, and marked down every week or so, if you're willing to take the gamble and wait for markdowns. It is run by volunteers and provides income for a non-profit, so on top of getting good bargains in a very fun shopping environment, and reusing and recycling perfectly good items, you are also contributing to a worthy cause. It is affiliated with Encore Consignment, the sister shop to Daue. Encore carries furniture, books, artwork, etc. also at very fair prices, also generating income for the same non-profit, and also using the same periodic markdown on prices, also staffed by volunteers, and just a block or so away. This store has everything for the casual to rabid Beaver fan. As a Beaver Parent and Football Season ticket holder, I couldn't leave here without buying anything...left here with a Beavers Hello Kitty magnet for the wife and a Men's Dri-Fit running shirt...could have probably spent more, but will probably save up when the new fall line arrives for the football season...if you can't get down to the newly remodeled bookstore in Corvallis or don't want to deal with the downtown Portland traffic, this Keizer Station location is your best alternative.

The Gatsby saved my wedding day!…read more Not only is Gatsby my favorite shop and wine bar downtown where I can always find a unique gift on any budget, Katy and Hannah saved my wedding day by hosting us for a private party when our first ceremony was cancelled due to illness. After the outdoor ceremony, we headed to the Gatsby for our reception, where Katy and Hannah hosted us with the wine bar and private shopping. Katy has such a unique talent for creating a modern '20's aesthetic is the millennium's '20's era. We had access to Bluetooth to play our own playlist and have our first dance. Thank you Katy and Hannah for giving us a better reception than we even originally had planned. We are so grateful you both were a part of our day.

The partnering concept is a great idea to keep customers coming in the door, and they seem to be alternating or adding other new pop-ups to keep things interesting.
