A big thank you to the Fly Guys for my new roof. And for the repairs to my board and bat siding. Owner, Austin, chose to behave with honor by acknowledging mistakes made by his previous company. He made good on his offer to make me better than whole. He didn't have to. I think it shows the strength of his character to own and to make an effort to remedy the past mistakes. Before and while work was in process Austin's office staff or support crew worked diligently to keep the project moving as quickly as possible. They smoothed communication issues and kept me updated. Austin's crew lead by Luis replaced the composition shingle roof with a new metal one. They were super-friendly and courteous. I love the new color! The same is true for the new exterior color. My greatest concern with the previous job was with the board and bat siding. Those concerns were justified by water-stains. Austin's crew remedied my concerns by replacing boards and bats. The previous scope of work was limited to two walls. Austin's crew weather-proofed the bats on all four sides of the house. And finally they stained those four sides with a new, more modern color. The team that flies to put roofs on zillionaire waterfront-estate homes treated our Bellingham home with the same level of professionalism and polish. Fly Guys provided a timely estimate and then was flexible when we discovered a repair would actually be a new roof. They worked with our insurance company and then scheduled a large crew so we could take advantage of the weather window. The crew led by Louie arrived at our home on San Juan Island at 8 a.m., and completed the work a little after 5 p.m. Not only was the work first rate, no corners cut, but they left the landscape and deck even more pristine than before. I signed a contract for roof replacement in early May 2022. It was understood that the work would begin mid-July, which was fine with me. There was some rain...another delay. But when I was told they had started a huge mall re-roof, it became apparent that I was getting pushed to the end of the line. I had to contact them repeatedly. Each time was told they would find a time soon. I was even given two days notice for a start date, but no one showed up. I was pissed off. I called the office repeatedly, but never an answer. I went to the office to tell them they were fired, was treated with respect by the receptionist and told I would be refunded my $3000 deposit soon. Nothing happened. I called again and was able to speak with the owner. He said I'd get my refund in 1 1/2 weeks. Again...nothing happened. It's now late October and the check was not in the mail. Called again and no one answered the phone. And...IT'S RAINING and MY ROOF IS LEAKING!! Nothing reliable about this company! Don't waste your time! I'm a 74 year old with limited funds who's been treated very poorly. They're rude, disrespectful and unworthy of my business. read more

Fly Guys Construction came through for us exactly when we needed them. After a winter storm knocked a tree onto our roof, my husband and I approached other local companies to fix it, but were frequently met with silence, empty promises, and absurd rates. At that time, my prior roof cleaner had not shown up as promised, and so I was ready to have it done. Ryan walked around the property and then came back and gave me a reasonable estimate. He and his crew showed up as promised the following day and proceeded to do an excellent job cleaning our moss-covered roof. and gutters. While up there, he also found that there was some tree branch damage and so, with our permission, proceeded to repair the roof. Not only did they do an excellent job, but Ryan took pictures of the process and showed me the before and after photos.
