Spacious area with lots of places to sit and plenty of games to play. Quite a few beer options on tap. Staff are super nice and round frequently. It's been a while since I've been to Avalon, but while here recently we came across Flx. It's a great place to hang out. Not a traditional Biergarten in the sense of the word, but a great modern one none the less with huge Airstream schlinging good suds. There's no better way to spend your day in than a large stein of Hofbrau, some cornhole and great views of the harbor. We'll definitely hit this place back up next time we're in town. read more

Great experience all around. Awesome service, Michael was really helpful and knows a lot about the beers and island. Excellent atmosphere. We had a party of 6 adults and 5 young kids, it was perfect for us to spread out, enjoy the brews with good food and let the kids play. We came here on a sunny afternoon and enjoyed sitting under the shaded tables and drinking an ice cold beer. Michael was super friendly and helpful with our order-- we had a great chat about our favorite breweries and he absolutely nailed it with the drink recommendations. Oh, and do yourself a favor and order a pickled egg, it was seriously so good! We loved talking with Michael about the reason behind the name (pronounced "Flex") and some of the tributes to the history of Catalina. Good drinks, amazing people, and cool vibes. Unfortunately Micheal the bartender was rude, completely disregarded my partner and I. It felt racially motivated, being the only brown folks in the bar. The way he catered to the other customers, while intentionally being rude and avoiding any opportunity to provide decent customer service. After asking a few general questions, it was clear he was not here to help. Fortunately Jimmy was awesome! He greeted us and assured us he was there to help in any way he can!
