A fun little divey bar and dance club in Catalina! Every now and then there's a DJ here, but I came here on a Sunday night and it was just the jukebox. Still a super fun vibe, relatively cheap drinks, shuffleboard, and a pool table! A fun place for a night out that had a very comfortable number of people on a Sunday night. Played some shuffleboard, stayed for a while. A friend was celebrating their birthday and they had watermelon shots for around $3 or so. I don't drink, so I just simply enjoyed their soda water. No tap water, bottled water only, but they are pretty reasonable in charging only $1 for it. All in all - def a fun place to spend a night out! read more

Please fire the 40 year old lady DJ. She is horrible!! Doesn't take request and changes music every other second. She literally cleared out the dance floor early and gets upset when anyone request a song. She is sabotaging your club. Hire someone better. If she is there you're better off playing your own Spotify playlist from your personal speaker. read more

Noticed another comment on here regarding the employees being creepy. Can't say that is true for all, but certainly at least one bouncer. This individual thought it would be okay to put his hands on women and grab them by the waists and when asked about it he said "I work here, I can do whatever I want". The employees that works there are creepy, I heard them harassing multiple women. I've been here many times, this place is not safe for women. Seems like the only way you have a good time is if you're an islander. Go else where. Also, they're not clean; everything was sticky, their mix drinks tasted bad and there were roaches in the bathroom and I'm assuming all over the place as well. Bam show up for Avalon 50 then go to the Chi Chi club to celebrate. I walked in after a long day and got up the stairs and the place was jumping I seen all my friends already sitting down and some dancing, which is amazing after running 50 miles of 50 k I said hello then strolled to the bar for a Guinness, my beer of choice. After settling in a a tequila or 2 later the da nice floor was calling. We had a blast, the music was pumping. People were at the pool tables having a great time. The bar stools where full and then more tequila shots I didn't stay til closing but already planning our next gathering after the race next year. read more

This was a fun place to check out after dinner on a Saturday night! It definitely starts picking up around 1130/12. We played a couple games of pool and ordered a couple drinks and had a great time. They made a better Paloma than we had had at lunch earlier that day. The pool table kept getting the balls jammed in them, but the staff was very helpful and came over every time immediately to unlock it. They have a smaller dance floor, but loud music and lights everywhere. read more

The men there are CREEPY. I went upstairs and the guys said I can only come in if I took my top off. The men in your bar are disgusting and if you want to feel like you are being stared at (in a bad way), DO NOT go to this club. Super fun place with shuffleboard, pool tables, and a jukebox you can control from your phone. I had a blast playing DJ and watching my friends shoot pool and play shuffleboard, and a few times popped on to the dancefloor. Very clean, well stocked restrooms and the bartender was a delight. We liked the place so much we bought souvenir tee shirts on our way out. SO MUCH FUN. read more

This place is cool! I think it is your only option if you are looking to go out in Avalon, but it's definitely hard to get used to if you go out in LA. The crowd seems a bit older and it's a little empty inside, but still fun nevertheless! read more

Honestly not too sure how I feel about this place lol! Part of me is thinking why did I expect so much from the only club on the island and the other part of me wants to give them grace. I think my expectations were set too high, and unfortunately were let down. I went both Friday and Saturday night. The club was empty for the majority of the night, and was packed maybe around 12ish? Even so, the music was all over the place (I felt like they were playing every song on shuffle from a random playlist). For a Tuesday and Wednesday night, this place was poppin. Its hard to tell how this place is as we visited during the week. Despite the lack of people inside the club, my friend and I had a great time. The place is very spacious. Lots of room to dance. The place has a stage for dancing on or performing. What I enjoyed about the most is that out of all the places in Avalon closes around 9pm, Chi Chi closes at 2am. They also provide free billiards so we took advantage of that as well. One of the nights we visited we saw a group of ladies dancing, drinking and just enjoying themselves. I enjoyed the good vibes Chi Chi brought them and everyone in the establishment. Avalon is a fantastically laid back and chill place where half the people know each other and the other half wish they did. A land of happy cheer and a helping hand. And then there's Club Chi. One would think that on a Sunday night in December in Avalon that Club Chi, which is supposed to open at 7pm, would be open at, I don't know, 7? A night when there are maybe 10 tourists left in town. But nope. At 9:15pm with only 4 possible customers, they would not open. Literally 4 of us were the only people out on the streets looking for a place to go. As the bartenders prepped ice for the customers that would never come, they said "Not open, come back in 20 minutes" and TURNED OFF THE LIGHTS. Nevermind that I didn't really want to go to a skanky bar in Cabo at spring break anyway, but man they really don't want your business. Head to Marlin Club instead which actually feels like Avalon is home. read more

If I could leave no stars I would. The bartenders were cool and hook up the drinks but the DJ is Bit$@h. She got $20 tip 3 times and we made a request. She never played what we asked for, my husband goes back and asks Again and she responds, "you wanna tell me how to do my job" my husband was polite and kept tipping the damn fool! I go to the manager and complain so the damn ho3 gets in the microphone and tells the club that we're snitches, she points at us her and the other fat one in there too and flips us off! On the way out, we're walking out the door and she comes at me "you want my Picture, I'll pose for you?" All aggressive and walking towards me, my husband pulls me away ugh! Not going to jail and ruining our trip. There's a reason they'll never amount to more than what they are now, and that's not much of anything. Guck them, I'll spend our $$$ elsewhere. read more

I walked into the bathroom right off the bat.. There was a woman decked out in full bridal gear crying with 3 girls crowded around her. Standing in what I thought was a line for the bathroom stall was a tall 5'9 brunette.. She assured me that she wasn't waiting in line. So I scurried into the handicap stall. This is the only lounge/club in the area that CAN play danceable music... keyword here is "can." There is no dj at this place; the music is controlled by YOU. Yes, you. The music comes from a digital jukebox machine created by TouchTunes. You pay money to queue up the songs you want to hear, so essentially you create the playlist for the night. The machine wasn't working at first so my friends and I downloaded the app and controlled the music from there. We literally controlled the Playlist for the first 2 hours until the machine started to work again. Lol. But rest assured for the first couple of hours we played good, danceable hip hop... you're welcome. The crowd was totally mixed from old to young, but it is generally a younger crowd. This spot was like Bachelorette party central. The night we went there were 3 Bachelorette parties going on including ours. read more

Service and atmosphere were great, and we generally enjoyed our time here, but ended up not being a great experience for my group. We happily gave Chi Chis our business daily as I personally spent about $100 here each night on average. However, on April 3rd we stopped in and as I exited the crowded dance floor I must have inadvertently brushed against another guest. He became aggressive and proceeded to choke me. Assault is a crime last I checked.. Security did not catch the start of the incident but sure cameras did. However, I don't blame security for asking me to leave and can understand the confusion. However, I was asked to leave for simply defending myself and the aggressor who assaulted me unprovoked was not asked to leave. For obvious reasons I was unable to close my tab. I am always a generous tipper regardless of service and the service warranted a good tip, which I felt awful about. However, I checked my balance and was charged $221.34. I was with my mother who rarely drinks and the 2 friends of mine had their own tab. Not sure if this was done by mistake or something shady happening bebind the scenes. I plan on calling my credit card fo dispute it and am anxious to see if somebody else signed my name or added an exorbitant gratuity. Really hoping that's not the case and perhaps somebody else's bill was simply added to mine. All things considered still highly recommend this place, just proceed with caution. read more
