I scheduled an appointment at Fluhme after seeing a really great deal on Groupon. I always get the same cut and highlights/balayage, and I have blonde hair, so jumping between salons for great deals like this is a no brainer for me. The salon itself is in a cool spot. Right uptown Mt.Lebo, plenty of parking on the street and in a nearby parking garage. The salon itself was very clean, and everyone working was very pleasant from the moment I walked through the door. My hairstylist had her mask on, which I really appreciated. My stylist was Lizzie. We had a mini consult when I first arrived to make a game plan for my mop, and she went to work. Again, my hair is blonde and getting highlights/balayage is always "refreshing" but is never a dramatic change for me. I was pleased to know that my Groupon covered balayage, because foils all the way to my scalp aren't my favorite, especially in the winter months! I've had my hair damaged in the past, so I asked Lizzie 3 or 4 times to check my progress (I was annoying, I'm sure) but I'm glad I did. My hair turned out great. The color was beautiful, and felt completely refreshed. I also really liked how Lizzie cut my hair! After checking out Yelp, I see some reviews here aren't the best. I can say that I had a much different experience than the negative reviews here. With blonde hair, I don't see "mistakes" as easily. Also, I was a hairstylist and was absolutely horrible, and eternally grateful Yelp did not exist when I was a hairstylist, it's truly a very difficult job and people are hypercritical with the way they look. read more

I got a Groupon for this spot and was really excited to go. It's been months since I've had a haircut (thanks Covid) and I was looking rough. The salon is gorgeous and was super clean. They temp you on arrival and ask the standard covid questions. My stylist was Kiersten and she was wonderful. Really funny, listened to what I was interested in, and gave great tips. I love my cut, she did an amazing job. The hair color is nice but not quite for me. But that was my fault for not knowing what I wanted in the first place. My blowout was fantastic and left my hair so bouncy and soft. I look forward to returning for another great experience. read more

I asked for a balayage. The stylist should have just said she didn't know what it was/wasn't skilled enough for it. As you can see in the first photo I was put in bleach foils root to tip despite my protest. She said she knew what she was doing. After of two hours in foils, and being colored and sat under a dryer for an hour I lost 6 inches of hair that was healthy before I got in her chair. My hair had MELTED! She gave me a blunt cut, didn't even part it where I part it and then tried to charge me $400. When my friend got involved my money was refunded, and I was given 6 weeks of treatments. HOWEVER!!!! They did not follow the instructions on the Olaplex solution. Rather than saturating my dry hair with the product they would wash my hair and then while still wet, would pour the solution on it and let it sit for 10 minutes instead of the recommended 20-30. After the treatments I was supposed to get a corrective color. No one ever called me back for the color when I tried to set up the appointment twice. After 6 months of using Olaplex myself, and washing it once a week, I sat in the chair of a stylist I trust and cried as she told me, after a keratin treatment and color that my hair was still too damaged to hold color and that I should consider a wig or extensions if I wanted to have long hair for my wedding. It was time to cut it all off. The second to last photo was my hair before this salon. The last photo is my hair now. I lost six inches because my hair melted in the initial process due to stylist inexperience and error. I lost the rest of it after 6 months of tender love and care trying to get it back to its previous state. My stylist now was absolutely appalled by what happened, as was every stylist who saw these pictures my friend posted to her Facebook. Thanks for ruining my hair, not even reading the instructions for the conditioning treatments, and making it impossible to have the wedding hairstyle I wanted without a wig or extensions. 6 years of growing my hair just to have it ruined in 4 hours of mishandling. I will recommend a cosmetology student before I recommend this place because the skill level is the same but a cosmetology school isn't going to charge you $400 for damage. read more

This place is beautiful!! Very professional and clean. I drove here from the DC area (yes, four hours away!) to get my brows microbladed by Carly. 100% worth it!!! Carly gave my brows life and I've been getting so many compliments on them so far. She explained everything she was doing as she did it, and the whole experience was great. If you have sparse brows like me, this is the procedure to go for! Pain was minimal, and Carly asked consistently if I was doing okay or if I needed to take a break. I felt very secure in her work, thanks to her posts on Instagram. I knew I would get quality results and I'm so glad I made the trip to see her! I had my hair and make up done last week here for a vow renewal ceremony we had after eloping. There were a lot of positives and some cons. Overall it was a good experience and I would be back. Cons: *my appointment was at 9am for my make up and then hair right after. The makeup artist showed up at 9:20 am. On a normal day, this wouldn't be a big deal bit it did cause me to be late for photos. *when I had called I asked for airbrush makeup because I read on the website that they did this. I was told that day, that they didn't do it. Even though there were some cons, there were many positives as well: *the staff did amazing work. Although j was nervous about not doing the the airbrush makeup, it held up all day *staff were nice and great at what they do *the girl who did my hair saw what I wanted and did a great job on giving some feedback about revisions which were amazing and turned out better than the photo I had *Salon is clean and beautiful inside, they offered water, tea or water to drink which was nice. After wanting eyelash extensions for months, I finally caved a few weeks ago and booked an appointment! I noticed the newer location of Fluhme a few months ago while driving on Washington Rd & was instantly curious what the story was. After looking online, I knew this place looked fabulous. I did some research on eyelash extensions, and Fluhme had a great prices & even better reviews! I called and was able to make an appointment for the next week, but I got one of the last open appointments so I would suggest making appointments ahead of time (especially if you need evening hours like I do). The receptionist was very nice and told me all the details about what to expect for my first lash appointment. I have been making appointments far out in advance recently to make sure I am able to get one! The atmosphere inside of Fluhme is one word: GLAMOROUS! It's very chic & feminine. It makes me feel famous while I am there! I was nervous for my appointment because she said the first fill will take up to 2 1/2 hours (which is true). Christina has been doing my lashes and she does an amazing job! She is so nice and easy to talk to and did a great job on my lashes. I've been considering having Microblading on my brows done for awhile and spent a few weeks researching. I found Carly's work on Instagram and knew I found my girl! Carly made sure to map out my brows and listened to exactly what I wanted and made any changes necessary. I've had my initial appointment as well as my touch up and they have turned out exactly as what I had wanted. I liked that Carly had tons of pictures of her before brows and healed brows on her Instagram so that I could feel fully comfortable with her work. This place really needs the owners and/or actual management to take note. Your clients are the backbone of your business. Without clients and word of mouth- it doesn't matter how sparkly the chandeliers are or how good you style their hair. Clients who regularly support you, refer other people to you, and are appreciative of your team are what drives profits and longevity of your business. I first went to Fluhme last fall with a Groupon. Lizzie was sweet and colored and cut my hair nicely. I referred two other people after that visit. I returned and she again did my hair and I was happy. I returned in 6 weeks, my 3rd appt. As you may know, uptown Lebo can be tricky for parking. On this day, there was construction all along the front of the hotel and towards the next block limiting street parking. I called the salon at my 11:30 appointment and told the person that answered that I was looking for parking and I was so sorry but I'll be there soon. She told me that's fine and there's a parking garage on Washington Road. THERE WAS NO MENTION OF ANY APPOINTMENT BUFFER. I parked and ran to my appointment. Upon entering the lobby at 11:42, I could see my stylist standing at the front desk w her mask on and it reminded me to put mine on so I smiled at her through the window and put my mask on. I walked over and greeted Lizzie and Maria(?), apologized, explained the parking again and how I even jay-walked to get there faster. maria, flatly began to inform me that while they will "fit me in today but have a five minute buffer for appointments and next time will have to reschedule." She went on further, sort of scolding me for being tardy. I apologized again and said I could reschedule if it was a problem, but five min is pretty extreme, especially considering I called. Also, this reminded me of the previous appointment that I had with Lizzie. On the day of my appointment, she texted me and asked me if I could come in early. I called a babysitter for my four children so I could come in an hour and a half early for the stylist. I mentioned to Lizzie (who I was so surprised also didn't show me any sort of understanding- they both were so rude about it) how you'd think she could be a bit more flexible with me since I was so flexible with her last time. Again, just flat stares. I offered again to leave and they continued to tell me they would take me. Lizzie brings me back to color my hair. I ask if she can please do the conditioning she had applied the last time. She tells me "oooooo I don't think we have time for that today." "Because I was 12 minutes late?" I asked her. "Yes," she replied. So, yeah, I had enough. I asked to speak to the owner, was told there wasn't one there but that Maria was the manager. I had never seen her before this day. She came to talk to me and I didn't need to rehash with her my concerns about her. So again, I stated I wanted to leave and they still just cornered me and tried to tell me how I was wrong and that as a business owner I should know how important schedules are. I do. I know how important & I also know how important it is to have functioning schedules, ones that allow for life, and parking, and construction, and whatever else may come up. Multiple times, I stated clearly I want to just go and they continued to tell me how fortunate I should feel that they were doing me the honor of fitting me in since I was seven minutes past their precious appointment buffer. (10 according to Maria) You realize this is a salon, right? Neurologists have 15 minute appointment buffers. I get it. I even respect it- if that's your policy. I tried to reschedule when first told about it. The staff is totally unprofessional and this place clearly doesn't care about clients. I left in tears. Ive been a Lebo resident for a long time and we are committed to supporting our local businesses, unfortunately, this is one I can't get behind anymore. If you want to feel like you stepped into the movie Mean Girls or would like a little old-fashioned bully from a few girls- go to Fluhme! Oh- and be 12 minutes late. :) read more

Fluhme Glam Bar recently traveled on-site to do makeup and hair for my bridal party on 9/14/19. Their team arrived promptly and they were very organized in setting up and taking girls for hair/makeup. One of my greatest fears was not being ready by noon for pictures, but they were SO efficient while also giving an individual attention to detail. My bridesmaids looked amazing!! Christina & Tricia did my bridal hair and makeup and I couldn't have been happier with the result. They brought my vision to life to a T and everything stayed beautiful through the entire night. I recommend Fluhme to any future bride looking for hair and makeup! Not only are they great at what they do, but they are so chill and fun to work with. I was in the Pittsburgh Area for work and realized my nails got to the point where they were seriously embarrassing. So I actually checked Yelp for salon recommendations, and Fluhme popped up with great reviews. The one right by me (in the Cranberry area, had no open appointments so the receptionist called the other location (Dormont/Mt. Lebanon) to see if they had anything available. Luckily for me they had an open, I rushed over had a great experience! I got a set of gel, and the woman was sooo nice. While I was there, there were women getting hair cut/colored, extensions put in or taken out....they have so many incredible services, I would definitely check them out! read more

I did microblading on my eyebrows with Domonique. it is good however the therpist was in rush at the end because she took long time on my eyebrows which I don't mind that. but I didn't like that she was on hurry. she asked me to get up and go set out side because someone wants to come to do their eyebrows.!!!!!My eyebrows did not look the same I was not happy with the results. She told me that she will modify them in the touch up session. hopefully she will able to do that. I hope in the touch up session things will be much better and fix my eyebrows. I had my first ever visit at Flume Glam Bar today to get my eyebrows microbladed. This salon was extremely clean and very pretty. Selina did my brows--and may I just say, there are no words to describe how truly fantastic and talented she is. I have always hated my brows. After a bad experience from previous microblading at a different salon, I was so worried that I would never love my brows again..but Selina surpassed my expectations and had me crying happy tears! I will now only be seeing her for my brows. I am one super satisfied customer and I highly recommend her. read more

I was very disappointed in the way our situation was handled. My daughter had her hair dyed to have a vibrant dark purple shine. The stylist dyed her hair and put a purple highlight. Unfortunately, my daughter's hair was too dark and after 4 days the purple shine went away. She waited 4 days to wash her hair as well. The fact that my daughter's hair was too dark and the purple shine would not stay was never shared with her. When she explained what she wanted to stylist was happy to start, but never once mentioned her hair was too dark to begin with. In addition, there was never any alternative discussions on what other treatments could give her the result she was looking for, but were shared after the fact. When we called the Salon to discuss alternatives, we were not engaged in a solution based discussion. It was "ok" that we paid for a service that did not work and we were not advised of alternatives that might have been better suited for her hair goals. The end result is we paid for a service that did not work (while they knew it wouldn't) and was not advised of a better plan. We now have to go somewhere else to pay for the same service. Hence, costing us double. read more

Avoid this place like the plague, most definitely for lashes, even more specifically the employee Kaylee. I want to start out by saying that I was refunded, but morally I have to share my experience. My usual lash girl relocated farther away, and wasn't available for when I needed. So after a couple of recommendations and checking out their instagram page, I made an appointment for a lash lift and tint at Fluhme Glam Bar in Mt. Lebanon. Now the recommendations weren't specifically for the employee I was set up with, just the salon as a whole. When I arrived I should have known because they deny a patch test. But I thought "I've had this done a dozen times, I'm sure its fine." So I go back with Kaylee who was preforming my service and we get started. Right from the very beginning she was SO rough. I was in shock. Even just how hard she pushed on my eyes to put the pads on. As she's putting the lashes up on the roller she started pulling so hard, so fast I thought she was going to pull them all out. I commented asking if this was normal because I had never experienced such roughness with this before. She said everyone's process is different. I'm not certain what tools she was using but between those and her sharp long fingernails she continuously kept scratching and poking me to the point it was unbearable. Even under my eyelid onto by eyeball. At one point she got through my closed eye (keep in mind shes pulling and scratching so hard) and poked my left eyeball so hard that I flinched and almost had to stop. It was terrible. I told her that she scratched/poked my eye and she denied it was possible, that she was only on my lid. Of course it's very possible if you are rough and careless. It was insane. I'm shocked with such carelessness around eyes. At this point I had no choice but to let her finish getting my lashes off the roller. When I got to the car I noticed two huge hemorrhages on the white of my eye. Also a lot of uncomfortable pain from the scratch/poke. The next day I also developed a painful stye or some kind of swelling along the upper lash line. A few days later it's still really painful. Unsure if it's from trauma or not being sanitary. I can't imagine it's sanitary to work with such long nails and I came to realize that she didn't wear gloves either. When I contacted the salon they were apologetic and offered to refund, but admittedly denied it was possible for this to happen. The employee also denied it even though I confronted her as soon as it happened. It was pretty insulting and the condescending tone was really unprofessional. I don't exactly enjoy conflict but I felt it was incredibly important for them to be aware of this. It wasn't a "fluke" it was pure roughness, quickness and complete disregard of care for such a sensitive and important area. Guys, this employee is going to end up seriously hurting someone some day. I should have made the smart choice not to continue from the beginning, but I didn't and now I'm dealing with the consequences. Don't make the same mistake I did. IT. IS. NOT. WORTH. YOUR. I LOVE the Glam Bar!! After seeing the fabulous results my sister had after getting her eyebrows microbladed by Brittany, I decided to book an appointment with Domonique (because we're both brunettes)! I cannot tell you how much I LOVE my results. Domonique kept saying that she was a perfectionist and she definitely is-- my brows are perfect. I cannot believe I look like this without makeup! I could not be happier with my results! I will be recommending Domonique and the Glam Bar to everyone I know. Also, my sister LOVED Brittany!! She is fabulous too!! The Glam Bar was so *glamorous* and fun to be at-- I really felt pampered when I was there. Domonique talked to me and made me laugh during the whole process.
