Such a great overall experience! We were seated immediately on a Saturday morning and the staff was incredibly friendly and efficient. We ordered two Mahoney's and a hash. The first Mahoney was a waffle on top of a bed of potatoes and topped with bacon, pulled pork, fried eggs, Holandaise sauce and BBQ sauce. The second Mahoney was two fried egg sandwiches on pretzel buns with cheese, egg, bacon, and tomato. Potatoes on the side had ham and cheese and green onions. The wait for food was a little longer but overall worth it. We both flipped for the Mahoney's and one of us lost and one of us won. Not too shabby in the end! Expensive but worth it! the Herb Hudson is amazing and everything you eat here is divine! The fried chicken is the best I've ever tasted.

I love Floyd's downtown and I love the new Floyd's out here in Langford. We went on a Sunday, about 15 min wait around 10:30, which wasn't to bad. Entire staff was friendly and they provided coffee while we waited. The wife had banana french toast with toffee syrup. The half order was still large enough that she wasn't able to finish it. It was really delicious, and the toffee syrup was an amazing twist and anyone who gets it will not be disappointed. I ordered 'The Mahoney' which if you've never been to Floyd's, its a must try at least once. The kitchen cooks whatever they want and you have the option to flip for the bill after, double or nothing. They brought me athe biggest pulled pork sandwhich I've ever had. In it was a sweet pulled pork, 2 fried eggs, cheddar, tomato, sauce, and some other things I couldn't figure out. On the side wad hash and hollandaise sauce. It was very delicious and I could only make it about half way through. I flipped double or nothing and ended up paying double. But so worth it still. This is definitely one of the top places to dine in Langford and we'll be coming back again and again. read more

Lunch was horrible. The falafel was a slab of mush served on a pita. I don't think the cook has ever had a real falafel. Worst we've ever tasted. Take it off the menu if you can't make it! It's a tradition to eat a big breakfast somewhere local the morning of the last day of my vacation. My friend had been ranting about Floyds since we decided to go there. She's a big fan. We went a little later in the morning (around 10-11am-ish) and there was a line. It didn't take very long to actually get seated though (I say about 15 minutes). But - once we ordered it took about 30 minutes to actually get our food - and it wasn't even all of it, 5 minutes later our potatoes (hash browns?) arrived. I know they were busy, but this was very annoying. Their menu is amazing. There are lots and lots of options - and it's not your traditional breakfast options. They have some pretty neat plate combinations. It took a few minutes to decide what I wanted, and honestly I wish I picked something else. I went with the American Idol Eggs Benedict. The description sounded delicious - and it was even a recommendation on Foursquare; pesto hollandaise, avocado, bacon and tomato. I will admit, I am not pesto's biggest fan, at all. But, I really like hollandaise sauce. Maybe I shouldn't have been so adventurous, but I have a thing for trying things I know I don't like, hoping one of these times I will actually like them (like apples!) It wasn't the worst thing I've ever eaten; the hollandaise sauce wasn't very pesto-y either, but it really wasn't that great. This meal didn't sit well in my stomach and I felt funny the rest of the day. If, when, I ever go back to Victoria, I would eat at Floyd's. Coming to this place make me feel like having breakfast in Austin, Texas or Portland, Oregon - the carefree hipster towns, in a good way! The breakfast was awesome and the menu items all have quirky names. We came to Victoria for a marathon and our group got our carbs and protein fuel that day! If you're hungover - this is the place. Hashbrowns are fries, toast is thick and heavily buttered, not a single solitary fruit or veggie to be seen on the plate, even as garnish. Decent food, but I needed a nap afterwards. Definitely not the healthiest option, nor does it try to be. We went on a Sunday morning for brunch. Wait time was about 40 minutes which isn't too bad for a Sunday morning. Service was excellent. Staff were helpful and courteous and looked like they were enjoying themselves. Food was fantastic. Huge portions. I had the BC Hash (full order) and it was super tasty. I'd probably get the half order if I was to pick it again because I definitely couldn't finish it all. Hope to go again the next time I'm on the island. read more

I love the idea of the Mahoney -- I ended up with a poutine topped with chili, sliced beef, chorizo, sauteed mushrooms and onions, and cheese, and it was tasty and enough for two meals. The people were very nice and the service was efficient and helpful. The food was OK, nothing inspired, but good diner food. The decorations are worth the trip. My wife had the chicken and waffles and they mention it is a tribute to Roscoe's. Well having had both, they need to get to work on improving both the waffle and chicken to get it up to Roscoe's level. Theirs was OK but not great! Eclectic and retro cool. A welcome addition to Langford. A great place to grab breakie or lunch as best diner-style restaurant in West Shore. Food is typical greasy spoon with big portions and inexpensive price. Nothing really healthy about it, just a great big plate of yumminess and zero fussiness. Servers are a super fun bunch. At Floyd's Diner it seemed to be quite busy in the afternoon when stopping by for a late lunch. This diner is one of two locations in the Victoria area. The Langford location sits on a side road right next to highway 14. The restaurant serves up a fun inventive menu for both breakfast and lunch. They call themselves "Home of the Mahoney" which is basically a random dish of whatever the cook decides to make, a "Feeling Lucky" item on the menu. I wasn't feeling so lucky; I just wanted a simple sandwich for lunch. The chicken was roasted, flavorful, moist and there was plenty of it. The crispy bacon was still hot melting the cheese onto the meat. I had them add some fresh avocado because a sandwich without avocado is just boring. The chipotle mayo tasted really good and went great with the toasted sourdough. The side of fries was piping hot still, fresh and crispy without any of the oily residue on it. They weren't salted though, which is great because I like adding my own. The waitress was very talkative with us and did a great job at getting our food and drinks. The prices here were very reasonable and the portions will definitely fill you up. Highly overrated. Our family or four (two adults, preteen and smaller child) ate breakfast here on the recommendation of a local. We realized upon arriving that we had actually been here once before about three years ago, and were unimpressed. (That time: chipped coffee cups, crowded, super hot due to sun coming in the windows before someone finally closed the blinds, mediocre food). We hoped for better this time, since it seems to be so popular - the line was out the door at 9:30 am on a Sunday. The booth we were eventually shown to was right against the windows, which heated up considerably in the morning sun. We were surprised that the blinds again were not fully drawn, but fixed that ourselves. However, with the number or people packed in and the sun, we all felt quite flushed by the end of our meal. Aside from waiting forever for our food (forgivable due to how packed it was), some of the food was very good and some was again mediocre. Chorizo omelette was just an egg omelette folded in half with some sausage and cheese and not much flavour. Floyd's potatoes (medallions of fried potato) were very good and bacon was amazing - huge, thick slices. However, value for money this was not. Our total bill before tip was $72, which we were shocked to see included $5 EACH for one glass of orange juice and one glass of milk. Wont bother with this place again. read more

Lineup to get in. This is not the breakfast place for a quiet or intimate conversation. It's quite loud and lots of laughter and lots of kids.
