Dr. Shi has been practicing acupuncture for decades. Dr. Shi can speak some English, but is fluent in Mandarin. As a patient who speaks some Mandarin, I'm fortunate enough to learn that Dr. Shi travels to give speeches in China and he continues to learn the arts of healing. Dr. Shi is an unorthodox acupuncturist in which his methods are not just sticking needles in your body. He asks your body to change the tendons, the muscles, the bones, the fascia, and even the skin. And yes Dr Shi talks to your body, it's so strange (I know), but he can find where the source of your pain is from and he tries to find the root cause of the pain so he can transform your body. Even if I don't tell him I have pain in a specific area, he will find out after assessing your body. As someone who suffers from multiple injuries, my chronic pain and musculoskeletal problems caused migraines, dizziness and pain with movement. I saw renowned acupuncturists twice to three times a week for three months and my symptoms never improved significantly enough to go about my daily life. I saw Dr. Shi for one month, twice a week and my headaches and dizziness improved right away. My range in motion also increased with less pain. Additionally, my stiffness and deep pain lessened. So why the magic... okay, I get it. You need a concrete example. I have a painful bump in the back of my head, it was about 2inch so not too big, but pressing on it caused migraines and shooting pain down my neck and spine. Dr. Shi placed acupuncture needles in my body, asked me to do some strange movements, and in three sessions the spot was less tender and I no longer have shooting pain down my neck and spine. This was also combined with Western medicine. It's not completely gone because he explained that healing is treatment, time, taking care of yourself, staying warm and moving correctly. I also like the way Dr. Shi inserts and takes out the needles. He prepares your body and gently inserts the needles. If it will be a painful spot, he will guide you on how to lessen the pain for that acupoint. I am excited that the acupuncture clinic will be opened soon. This way, Dr. Shi can help more people.

Which is fine, however, it seems that they just gave her light strokes throughout. She wanted to walk out mid-session but chose to stay to see if there would be any improvement but there was none. worst massage in town. no lie…read more at least for my experience. i brought my girlfriend here for a couple massage for her birthday. 90 minute couples massage. first five minutes was mild at best. we had to ask them to massage with a little bit more effort. shortly after it was pure sharp elbows, digging into our backs from the weight of their bodies, which overhang above. they use gravity and their elbows in an effort to avoid actually expanding effort or using their muscles at all. i don't know about you, but that's not a massage to me. shortly after i looked over to my side to notice that the man that was massaging, my girlfriend was sitting down on the bed lightly massaging her upper back with no more than a few fingers contact. there was no effort or work there. just sitting lounging doing the absolute minimum contact possible. this was almost the same for me however, my masseuse, also using only one hand, would pause for many seconds at a time before exerting some pressure then again another break of many seconds before pressure again. she was systematically conserving energy and then applying the minimum level of pressure from one hand only. after a couple warnings, she finally started to get that. i am not gonna leave us alone and she started massaging more correctly. then excuse the man who was pretending to massage my girlfriend and replaced him with a woman that was massaging me. then they sent one man to massage me who was lazy and barely doing anything so let him go when they sent him them yet. another one who is doing the same thing. at about 45 minutes i finally told him to leave me alone and just continue with my girlfriend. i don't know how it's possible that others aren't reporting this more often, but i cannot speak on what i do not know but what i do know is if you are sore, tired, and just looking for some muscle, relief and relaxation and you expect some discernible level of quality and effort than do not come here. these people do not care at all about giving you a good experience and i gave them multiple chances they are lazy and do not care about their customers at least not for my girlfriend and i if you doubt me at all, please read my other reviews. i'm very honest in my reviews and i take great care to be fair. and i write these to help others. it certainly doesn't provide me any benefit other than that. thank you for reading and feel free to contact me if you'd like more information

This 90 minute is equivalent to their $148 service. I am writing this as someone who has been to many headspa businesses in OC and LA and I usually get the 90 min services. When I arrived I circled the area once to see where the best spot was to park. They had street parking in front of the business but Las Tunas is main street, but I preferred to park on the small street nearby for safety reasons. I came a little early as instructed on ClassPass. They lady told me to sit but then she was distracted with other things. I'm like in that case can I use the restroom? Might as well be productive while I'm waiting for her. They have 1 station in front for the initial scalp exam, 2 head spa beds with curtains as separation, and 2 stations in the back for blow drying. So the 90 min Scalp Spa here comes with a few typos on their menu but it's basically a scalp exam, steam eye mask, scalp clean and relax, hair follicle deep clean, scalp care, hair hydration, hair repair, sleep therapy, nano hair care, light therapy, shoulder/neck tension relief. The thing I like most is the massage from the message bed they use with the treatment. It massages your back, arms, and legs throughout your head spa treatment. The lady was nice... but... rough... Often she would pull on strands of my hair and it would hurt. It might be the type of glove they use because the other head spas use gloves too but it never pulls my hair so painfully. Even with the massage it never hits the right spot. It was one of those treatments where you can't wait for it to be over. Also compared to other similar business types there was no enclosed steam mask and treatment for my hair, and the massage did not go down to the shoulder area. When the wash was over we moved to the chair for blowdrying. Ugh also clumsy with the blow dry. I have really long hair and at times she was just manually section it without clips and hold it up with the other hand and pulled on my hair some more. Sigh. What torture. Compared to similar businesses I did not get a post exam to see how much it improved after. There was no shoulder and neck massage on the chair. My hair was flat and felt ichy and oily. I don't know what she put in my hair but I'm not in a fan. I literally wanted to wash it off. Normally these treatments leave me feeling lush and full of volume, not flat like this. Also not great for any first timers. She didn't really explain anything throughout the process. There was a language barrier, which I don't mind, but you should know the basics for your profession.
