I've never been in so much pain during a massage before. The masseuse was really going at my back with his elbows and knees. I left this place feeling battered and weakened for the next two days. Props to him though for knowing what he was doing, I definitely felt more loose and relaxed afterwards for a while, so the massage was very effective. All the massage prices are much cheaper than other places which is nice. Not sure if I could handle the massaging regularly, but it's worth it to come every once in a while. read more

I came back from Vegas tired and sore from all the dancing and walking around in high heels so I knew I needed a foot massage. This spot happens to be near one of my close friend's house so I've been here a few times when I had some time to kill before/after seeing her. I knew this spot would not disappoint!! I usually get the #2 or the #5. The #5 is $15 for 25 minutes of acupressure, 20 minutes of foot reflexology and 15 minutes body massage. This is my favorite spot for a "$15 foot massage" in the San Gabriel Valley. This time, knowing my body and feet needed extra TLC, I got the #2 which gives you 45 minutes of acupressure massage on a massage table and 30 minutes of foot reflexology -- all for just $25!! What a deal :D I got David and he was very nice. I was seated in the front corner area and he went and got the hot water for me to soak in. I was trying to endure the hot water because I knew my feet needed it, but he actually went and got cold water to make it more tolerable for me :) I guess my facial expressions are obvious in any language. I soaked my feet for 15 minutes and David came back and gave me an AMAZING 30 minute foot massage... He could feet that my feet were damaged. I felt so much better afterwards!! After that I went to a different room where there were massage tables and curtains separating each massage bed. A majority of the massage session on the massage table was face down. David was able to get all of the kinks out of my shoulders and my neck that I have accumulated from my desk job. I could tell he really knew what he was doing! He just knew where to apply pressure without causing pain. Normally I feel like they cheat you on time, but on this visit with David I feel like I got extra massage time!! I gave him $40 and said he did not have to give me change. He was very happy and he told me he is there everyday except Thursdays. I will definitely come by when I'm already visiting my friend in this area!! This place is really inexpensive and the massage quality is really good... but the workers can get a bit chatty. Their phones are not even on silent and it would go off quite often. They even answer their phones when it goes off!!!!!! =/ And their English is limited so there is definitely a communication barrier for people like me who aren't Chinese. But if you can ignore all of that... this location is great!!! They even have a stamp card :) read more

This place is affordable and good. They work very hard for their money. I came in tired, unmotivated and left ready to become a UFC fighter. Will come back before every fight. This place is amazing. When you tell them you want it softer or stronger they do exactly what you want. Left them a $1000 tip. read more

I've never left a massage so pissed off and appalled. I paid for a Groupon that included a foot massage, body massage and hot stones. ONLY the foot was enjoyable. Here is my list of why I had issues: 1) he didn't care when I told him he hurt me. He said "I know what I am doing. What I am doing is safe" and continued on. I was in so much pain from his elbow digging into my lower back, that I was grinding my teeth, while my whole body was clenched and my hands is fists. He continued on doing what I told him hurt. And I prefer firm massages. This wasn't firm. Is was an inexperienced guy digging his elbows into my back. 2) though in his pants, his genitals landed in my open palms (laying face down, with my palms up), not once, but twice 3) he told me the massage was over, when I asked about the hot stones, he said he didn't have time. I told him That I don't care, it's not my fault he managed his time inefficiently. He said "no I solved your problem, I got your knots." No. He argued with me, until someone else argued with him in their own language. So he got them out and did it roughly and quickly. 4) Before I was even completely dressed and situated, he hit me up for a tip. Literally before I even had my shoes on. This was the worst experience I've ever had. I am disgusted, offended, mad and far from relaxed. I am pissed off. read more

Parking: this place is located in a shopping center, which can be a bit of a headache. Luckily, there was a parking garage where I was able to easily find parking. Place: I originally came to this area to eat at the tofu house, but there was a long wait so I decided to get a massage instead lol. I walked in and was taken in immediately. I got an hour massage of both feet and body. I chose to stay out on the chair, and it was a pretty good experience. One man getting a massage would not stop talking, which got annoying. And the man next to me was snoring super loud.. lol! Obviously, these are things outside of the place's control, but something to be aware of that may happen during your experience. Massage: OH MY GOSH!! Soooo good! I have pretty chronic back and neck pain/discomfort, and I felt sooo good after the massage! My masseuse really dug into some areas which was a littleeeee painful, but so worth it! The massage was $30 and I left a $10 tip. The masseuse was appreciative, which I appreciated. (I've been to places that FORCE you to leave a certain amount for tip). They also offer acupuncture and cupping, which is different from other places I've been to. I'm traveling from San Francisco. Everytime I go to LA I will visit this massage store because I think one of the therapist Mr Yang has good skills and they had good attitude. I also recommended many friends to go. However after the 4th times visit. I will never go again because the therapist pressed too hard even I told him it's hurt and be softer. He made me has bruises on thigh and back. Also when I check out, I paid them 19% tips and they told me I gave too little. Then I gave 30% tips and they still said ' do you think you're eating in a restaurant? That's too little!' In front of all the customers inside the store. Then they asked me for 50% tips and I end up gave them because I don't want to argue. I am extremely disappointed and felt deceived. I will never go to this store because of their dishonesty. read more

WOW. I have gone to countless of different massage places, and have finally found "The One". Definitely my new favorite place for a good and satisfying massage! The setup is your typical asian massage place. Don't imagine a private room to start with or staff in professional uniform. Here, you are paying for the quality of the massage, not for the atmosphere. So just keep that in mind. The basic breakdown of a foot massage (but is really a full body massage), is they first have you sit to soak your feet in warm water and massage your head, neck and back. They then have you lie down on your back and massage your legs and feet. After, they move you to the back to some private rooms that are dimly lit and separated by curtains, where they have you lie on your stomach and finish with massaging your arms and lower back. This is all done within an hour. GOODS: -Inexpensive: Best price for an amazing massage. -The masseurs and masseuse are very kind and have very soft and strong hands. They will adjust the pressure to your liking, just let them know -I had Paul, and he was AMAZING. I prefer the strongest pressure and he was able to do it the whole way through (an hour session). He also cracked my neck, back, and other places which I love! He was also gentle so I was never in pain. -One of the things that made this place stood out was that Paul focused on areas where he found knots and actually worked them all out! Most massage places that I go to, the masseurs and masseuses just go through the routine without really paying attention to problem areas, even when you ask them, like my shoulders -First massage place I've been to where they keep you fully clothed! NOT-SO-GOODS: -The first part of the full body massage (aka foot massage) is right in front of the place, in front of everyone who walks through the door. No individual rooms or curtains to separate you from others (until the second part of the massage). Other massages I have gone to usually give you the massage from beginning to end in a private section divided by walls or curtains. -Most of the workers are masseurs (male), so if you are uncomfortable and would prefer a masseuse (female) be sure to let them know or call ahead -Masseurs and masseuses mostly speak Mandarin, and very broken English. So just be patient when you are explaining or talking to them Overall, I don't think I would be finding another massage place to go to, because I will be going here from now on when I need a massage! Definitely recommend if you are willing to sacrifice privacy, and upper/fancy lifestyle for a least an hour. read more

In need of a good beating, yes, I said it, a good beating! Looking for a cheap place to get a almost whole body massage, $15 bucks, you can't beat that. Greeted and asked if we wanted hot tea or water, tea please. Start off by soaking your feet in water, back, shoulder and arm massage, then followed by a body massage in a different room, last, a foot massage. I must advise people they go for pressure points, therefore at times it hurts. In this case, you just need to advise them to be a little gentle and they will do as you tell them. I am still sore after two days, a good sore, I had aches and knots in my neck and shoulders! I am a happy camper now, until the next time. It's a nice way to really relax and kill an hour! =) Most people tip $5.00 but I feel that all they do, they deserve a little more, so I tipped them $10. read more

Scumbags. I cannot believe the lack of service. There is a huge sign that says $9.99 for a 1hour foot massage when you drive by. Initially, that's how they will draw you in. They are $5 cheaper than everywhere else. Since a cheap SGV foot massage is a cheap SGV foot massage is a cheap SGV foot massage, I made a U-turn and got suckered in. My first visit - I had no problems. Employees are mostly guys so the pressure of my massage on my initial visit was strong and firm. I've gone to many other massage places and thought I finally found my regular foot massage place in SGV/Alhambra area...until today. After a weekend filled with lots of walking and running, I decided to trek out to SGV and end the weekend with a well deserved massage. I walk in with 3 friends - only to be turned away. They were pretty full and didn't have enough chairs to seat all 4 of us at the same time. So, they told us to wait for a little bit. They started talking Chinese, and it seemed like they were checking upstairs (where they give the full body massages) to see if there was space. I guess they couldn't make it work so they told us to wait a little bit more b/c 2 girls were finishing up anyway. Immediately after they tell us that, a guy comes over and asks what we kind of massage we would like. I say, 4 foot massages, which is the $9.99 one or #6 on the menu. He tries to upsell us to #5, which is $15. (Note: The #5 accupressure massage consists of the foot massage with a 20 minute head and shoulder massage within the same hour. They are quite clever in this aspect. Now, let's think about this for a second. They charge $5 more by taking the minutes that *would have* gone towards massaging your feet - under the guise of making the customer feel like s/he is getting an added bonus of a head and shoulder massage- which mind you, takes a lot less effort. Because I walk & run a lot, I rather have all the attention go to my feet/legs and with that price, I'll take 2 foot massages please.) I proceed to tell him, "No, it's ok. Four #6's." But then he goes, "Yeah yeah, but #5 gives you head & shoulder too. It's better for you." I say, "Yeah, I know, but we want #6." He was kneeling down next to us because we were sitting down waiting for the chairs to open up. He literally gets up and walks away while clearly talking trash about us in Chinese. Then, he turns around mid-walk and goes, "Come back in 1 hour. No room for you." WTF. We all looked at each other - astounded. We were amazed that they turned down four people just for $20 more that they would have collected had we all opted for the $15 massage. Not only did these clueless guys have lost 4 customers for life, but they also have no idea that negative word of mouth travels like wildfire. I mean, who talks crap about customers in their native tongue in this day in age...in a recession! I am still in shock, writing this review, that a massage place turned away customers for massages?! Seriously, why are these idiots even in business if they don't want to give foot massages and turn away business? That is like a restaurant turning away customers because they want to order food. Look, Beavis - Don't be bitter and mad at paying customers because you hate your job and/or life. That's a personal problem so take it up with your therapist or mama. These guys have serious tempers, anger management issues, or too much pride that obviously gets in the way of providing their services. It was a spit in the face. They refused our business for wanting to pay for their services. What gives. Which douchebag in here forgot to give their co-douchebag the memo that this is a place of business? They need to get rid of their attitude and listen to Patti LaBelle. There are so many other foot massage places literally on the same street, so please drive on. Do NOT be fooled by that $9.99 sign, which by the way, is FALSE advertisement. Because when you go in and see the menu binder, the $9.99 massage or #6 massage is only 45 minutes. Bunch of swindlers. Unless you want to leave in a storm, stressed, and insulted and join me in bashing this joke of a place, then by all means. FAIL! Parking - lot Location - who cares, keep driving. read more

The lady that gave me a massage was greedy and kept asking for more money. Additionally, another lady attempted to charge my friends $30 instead of $15 per person when my friends asked for the foot massage ($15). She then grabbed my friend by the wrist when we refused to pay the $30. Based on some reviews I read after that experience, it appears that this was not the first time someone attempted this at this shop. Save your time and try somewhere else. read more

I have a confession to make: I am a masochist. I derive pleasure from pain. This place is the OPPOSITE of a relaxing zen atmosphere. It's not particularly clean or comfortable. There are constant cellphones ringing and loud ass conversations throughout the room in various languages. On the tables, you will hear all ranges of moans, grunts, sighs of pain/relief. I've even witnessed one masseuse trip and heard 5 others hooting and guffawing for a solid 10 minutes. Still, I keep coming back for more. #5 is my usual foot + table massage combo for $15, but sometimes I get a full body table massage for $25. Plus I try to make sure to tip at LEAST $10 cash because they are just that good. Tommy will beat you up and stretch you out. Not my preferred masseuse... Anderson will beat you up but ask if the pressure is okay, while you admire his shoulder length mane. Jiang will beat you up then lull you to sleep while easing any knots from your body. He is the only one who hasn't snapped my fingers (God bless him). As a finale, he will slap the shit out of your feet and toes. Tek (Tiger?) is a sadist who will beat you up while growling and laughing when you beg for him to ease up. He never eases up. Also plays drums on your feet/toes. Danny may look petite but will knead the knots from your shoulders with the best of them. Michael is also strong and capable. Sunny looks like a gentle young man, but is ruthless and cruel. He will not hesitate to destroy any knots in your shoulders and back. Andy will punish your shoulders and lower back and give you a chiropractic session cracking your shoulders and back in ways that you didn't know you could be cracked. Thomas will beat you up and give you an eerily accurate diagnosis of all of your bodily ailments. Always booked. Aaron will know just where to beat you up without ever asking and carry on a pleasant conversation if you like. Also always booked. I have no complaints with any of the masseuses here as the worst one here is on par with the average guy elsewhere. read more

Supply and demand ...what the market will bear... Competition All good economic terms you learned in school, and given these economic times, you had better brush up on them. Or just go to Chinese Ancient Foot Massage. With a name like that, you're thinking they failed in Marketing, but with a huge sign advertising $9.99 foot massages, you have to think twice...maybe they do know their stuff. Well, they do know their massage. Upon entering, you're shown a menu with different types of massages, ranging from the aforementioned $9.99 cheapo to the full body 60 minute PLUS 45 minute foot massage for...$35. At those prices, you kinda feel guilty not leaving a $20 tip, but that's totally at your discretion. Down a few beers first to hide the pain you'll endure, wear clean socks, take a couple Jacksons with you, and be prepared to get pampered. Oh yeah...I'll be back. read more

I've been coming here for years! I am only giving them 3 stars because a few of their employees are not pleasant to deal with. However, I keep coming here because I feel great after my massage and it's cheap! This place is located in a small plaza. There are two different locations in this plaza, one upstairs and one down stairs. I've only been to their bottom room. If you're looking for a nice, serene spa day...do not come here. If you're looking to work out some knots, then this is the place to be! Most of their employees do not speak English. If you get one of their younger employees, then they will speak English. Otherwise, you'll hear them speak Mandarin and you can hear their very deep accent from mainland China. Most of them are older, but don't let that fool you...they are very strong! Even the female employees! If you don't speak Chinese, don't let that stop you. There's a menu right at the front of the door. There's both an English and Chinese menu. I typically get #5, this includes 10 minute back massage (sitting up), 40 minute foot massage, and 10 minute body massage (laying down) for $15. After you tell them which massage you want, they will bring you inside and seat you down on one of their oversized reclining chairs. They will bring you some hot tea and ask you to soak your feet in warm/hot water. You will be sitting on one ottoman as they give you a massage sitting up. They will massage your back, neck, arms, and head. They apply very high pressure, so be sure to tell them if you're in pain. Next, they will work on your feet. Lastly, your entire body. I've been here many times and each one of them have different methods...all good though. During my last visit, the employee was telling me how my sleep quality was poor and my body was too cold and that I had to drink more hot water. I was thinking...wow this guy knows what he's talking about! However, as soon as I handed over the $15 and $5 tip, he looked at me and said...just $5?!?! I thought a $5 tip was good enough. He looked away and was very upset. Although, I kind of expected this. Overall, there are many massage parlors in San Gabriel Valley. I will continue to come here because it's a ritual for me now. read more

I guess this foot massage place could either be a hit or a miss... depending on who is massaging you. The last person who gave me a foot massage was good! He had strong hands, and pretty much know what he was doing. Why? because he was able to feel for knots and remove it. Boy, was I in pain afterwards. But it was a good pain. My calves was so sore at one point the he loosen them up. I wasn't able to walk well because they were hurting. That's the only way to remove tightness! LOL. I forgot to get his name at the end. But the next time I go, I will need to describe how he looks. Hopefully he could be found. hahaha. Back to 3 stars. I hope they weed out the lazy ones! read more

Whether you enjoy a massage or not, $10 is a cheap price for a foot massage. There's a HUGE sign outside advertising the $10 foot massage, which is a 15 minute soak in hot water and a 45 minute massage. Most people though, are persuaded to go for the $15 foot massage, which includes a head and shoulder rub while your feet are soaking in hot water. I DO NOT like to have hands touching my body (unless it's a lover). I especially dislike strangers' hands touching me. This massage was not by choice. My friend was begging to go for a massage and after much harassment, I caved and agreed to sit for a foot massage while he got the full body one. The place from the waiting area, looked like a cheap whorehouse. Fobby Asian ladies with too much makeup and platform shoes. I requested a man. I got a skinny super-fob boy who hasn't showered in at least a few days. The smell of his body would hit me once in a while and I'd be grossed out by the intermittent whiffs, hoping that he had at least washed his hands before touching me. EEEWWWW. The massage itself was okay. There was some oil involved and I did feel more limber and relaxed afterwards. We talked the whole time after he found out that I can speak Chinese. He has a pretty miserable life, working all the time and probably as an illegal immigrant. Living in the US for him was almost like indentured servitude. And of course, he missed his family. The chairs were pretty close together inside a dark room. The bathroom was gross. It was like being back in China, urine smells everywhere. EWWW. There is a minimum tip requirement of $5. And for them not to hate you, you have to tip more than that. My friend tipped a $10. So the foot massage really came to $25, which still isn't bad. But pay some smelly kid to rub my feet for an hour and while spewing a woeful story of his life? No thanks. read more

I wanted to provide an update on what happened after I called the police. While the police were interviewing the workers at the business, they requested access to the security camera footage. During this time, the masseuse was acting very strange and repeatedly kept touching her pocket, which immediately raised concerns. The police gave her one final opportunity to conduct another search. The officer also asked me if I wanted to search the premises myself, and I told him that I wanted the entire place searched, including the masseuse, her pockets, and everywhere else thoroughly. Shortly after, the owner arrived and began speaking with the police. Then, unbelievably, the masseuse walked back into the same room (room 008) we had previously been in, came back out, and suddenly claimed she had found the missing item. She told the police it was supposedly under the pillow. What makes this highly suspicious is that she had already searched under the pillow and through the NEW sheets while I was present and stated that nothing was there. Now we're expected to believe that it was somehow hidden in the crack of the massage table (according to the owner stated on my friend's review) the entire time. That explanation sounds very sketchy and raises serious concerns about the credibility of what actually happened. STILL never coming back. The masseuse got caught.

I do not want to slander the therapist or business but this was a waste of my time and money. On top of that, he kept coughing and burping throughout my time there. I am a male myself and I have high tolerance for things but I left the session feeling really grossed out, with my whole body and clothes dirty and less relaxed than when I stepped inside. He was kind enough but the massage itself was very formulaic and you could tell he was running through the motions for a pay check. I noticed he didn't even bother to repeat the same motions on both sides of my body and overall he was too rough. I appreciate good pressure but it was borderline painful. Overall, I was too uncomfortable to relax and I still tipped 30% but ultimately I would not come back and could not in good conscience recommend anyone coming here. There are at least 3 better places on las tunas, please consider those instead...

My husband is a chiropractor and tries to see Amy every few weeks, if not weekly. She really helps his achy body and helps me with my migraines and neck/back pain. We typically do a 90mins massage that is $60. We always tip $30 or MORE. These ladies work hard. I see people mentioning tipping so I wanted to add this point to my review. Even at $90 (the price we pay w/tip) for a 90mins, it's a massage that can't be beat. I can't speak to the other technicians except Amy. She's exceptional. If you get a 90mins you can opt to skip the seated/laying down foot section and go straight to the room. We prefer the time spent on the entire body so 30mins spent in this chair we skip. The body portion is in a small room without a door. Instead, there is a curtain. You still have lots of privacy but, again, don't come here looking for the fluffy spa experience. Come here if you want an incredible massage (with Amy) and please, compensate accordingly!

They also add polish colors to their rotation and let me know when they get new colors in!
