There is currently no Korean spa in Charlotte, North Carolina, where I live now, and the closest option is in Atlanta. So yes... boo-hoo. Nothing quite compares to this experience. What made Immersion special was the sense of freedom and relaxation the moment you walked through the door. The spa is thoughtfully organized, very clean, and beautifully maintained. You store your belongings in secure lockers, receive a waterproof wristband, and then the entire experience begins. I always arrived at least 90 minutes before my massage so I could fully enjoy the amenities. That extra time was part of the magic. My favorite features included: * The hot tub and invigorating cold plunge * The wet sauna and dry sauna * The gentle, calming warmth of the Himalayan salt room * Complimentary roasted tea and water * High-quality bath and shower products in the women's area * A peaceful, well-run environment with clear structure and cleanliness standards Everything felt intentional and relaxing. Since the website emphasizes the value of longer appointments and since I also wanted a hot stone massage which they only offer as a $15 add on for the back, I opted for 90 minute Swedish plus hot stone. I received a text about 30 minutes before reminding me of my upcoming appointment which was nice. I arrived about 5 months before the session was scheduled to begin abs the woman at the front desk could not find my name or any information about my appointment. She then said made a call and asked me "60 minutes before massage?" I gave her the details of the treatment I had booked and showed her the online confirmation. I offered to come back another tone and while the communication was not very clear she said yes they could do the treatment I scheduled while I was there. I was taken to a room which looked clean, as did the entire place and told to lue down face down on the massage bed. Then I waited. She came in maybe 2:10 and put 4-5 medium warm rocks on my lower back. I asked: well are theeemore rocks? What about shoulder are? She responded "later and simply- left. About 20 minutes later, after one of the stones had fallen off my back and the rest had gone cold, having not heard or seen any anyone, I got up to leave. If this early part of the experience set the tone for the rest (and I figured that it had...) I wanted no more of it. I'd say do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. There are plenty of other places to get massages on the peninsula, including real hot stone massages, and why waste your time and money. Update: the management in noting that I left before receiving any real service reached out and voided my CC payment and offered a free 60 min service for another time. I doubt I'll make use of that but I do appreciate the reach out, the voided charge and the offer.
