I came here after work. We booked a service-brown sugar bliss + coconut-70 min for $150. With the service, you have the full use of the facility. They have hot tube, cold pool, wet & dry Sauna, massage chair- can use for 30 min for free. And they serve food inside. You can literally spend the entire day here. I wish we did. The parking lot gets really crowded with the bank and other restaurants in the same area all sharing the same lot. Overall experience was nice. The coed saunas were cool. The food court is a little expensive for the meals they serve. I would skip that and try any other Korean restaurant along el Camino. I booked a two-hour scrub service online the same day as my appointment. The price was listed as $220 on the website, SpaBooker, and even on the digital pricing display in the lobby. However, I was charged a higher amount at check-in. When I questioned the charge, I showed the front desk that all three sources still reflected the lower price. After speaking with a coworker, it became clear I had been overcharged, and I was refunded the difference. What disappointed me wasn't the mistake--it was the explanation afterward. I was told the price had changed "some time ago," even though every published price I could verify still reflected the original amount. To make matters more confusing, another guest who checked in immediately after me was charged the published price for her service. Mistakes happen, and I appreciate that the refund was processed. However, I would have preferred a simple acknowledgment that an error was made rather than explanations that didn't match what was being displayed to customers. My first time at a Korean spa, and it was a great introduction! The facilities were very clean and neat. I've never done the full rotation of hot tub to dry sauna to steam sauna to cold plunge - it was genuinely painful. If you've never experienced this, be prepared to get your heart racing. I was expecting a relaxing experience, but the saunas will leave you out of breath, and the cold plunge will shock your system. It's supposed to be really good for detoxing your system, and I definitely felt like I sweat out a bunch of toxins. We really enjoyed the massage chairs after this whole rotation and showering. The massage chairs are super comfortable and have a variety of massage options. It was so soothing that I fell asleep during my massage. There are a variety of popular scrub massage options that I did not try this time around. The downstairs co-ed dry saunas were a bit underwhelming. The saunas were comfortably warm and had blankets to rest on. These saunas didn't seem to be for the purposes of detoxing since they were at a moderate temperature. I was so comfortable that I ended up falling asleep in multiple rooms lol. Bay Spa was the perfect introduction to Korean spas, and I will definitely be returning! read more

This was my first time doing a Korean spa. I had previously only eaten at the cafe for lunch and loved their kalbi rice bowl so I came back for the spa experience with my friends. Once we paid and given key to lockers and 3 towels (1 large & 2 small), we locked up our shoes (only) in the lockers to the right of the front desk. Then headed inside to grab a pair of slippers from the shelves to the left (don't grab the ones in the basket on floor which are for used slippers). Then head upstairs to the locker rooms to change and store your things to the same numbered locker. Also, grab a pair of shorts from the shelves in there. The room with massage chairs is nice if you can find a good chair. The first massage chair I tried was perfect for my needs because I have neck and shoulder issues recently but the massage chair I have at home doesn't even reach my neck and only somewhat knead my shoulders and massages whole body. This chair (where the display controller is mounted on right and has a "neck & shoulder" function) was able to focus only on the neck and even up the back of head and down to the shoulder and shoulder blades areas only (pull out the padding behind the head area if you don't feel much happening). Some of the chairs did seem worn down and torn up but many were in good shape as well. Downstairs is the 3 Jade, Clay, and Salt rooms including an Ice room. No slippers inside rooms so place slippers on the shoe racks outside. Be extra careful going inside the clay room. There are handrails to help you get in and out because the clay balls are actually a few inches deep and very slippery and it's kind of like you're stepping into quicksand. My friends did the body scrub while I did the massage. I don't know if all masseuses massage the same way there but I did not know that the massage included being stepped on. I am a very petite gal and Gina was a bit bigger than me. It wasn't just stepping with one foot but with both! I don't know how much of her entire weight was on me because there were two ropes hanging for her to hold onto but I felt like I was being tortured during the 10-15 minute that she was on me. I can understand if the client is much bigger and so you need your full weight to get enough pressure, but I am only just around 100 lbs, petite, and asked for medium pressure and was still stepped on. After that massage, certain spots around my back and pelvis (boney spots) seemed as if they were bruised cause they hurt with even just touch. She handed me an envelope afterwards for tips. I still tipped her but I don't think I would get a massage there again due to that experience. Maybe if you are a bigger build or get a different masseuse you might enjoy it. Overall, her massage was not all that useful, or even if it was, the stepping on undid it by giving me a traumatic experience. But there were a few times I thought what she was doing didn't seem like it did anything. If I hadn't gotten the massage, I would have given 5 stars because the facility and front desk staff I encountered were great (I asked front desk about adding massage and she was very friendly and helpful and immediately was able to book the massage for the earliest opening a few hours later), but I had to take a star off just for my experience with that masseuse. Would go back to the spa to unwind and relax, but I will most likely not get massage there again. read more

Getting scrubbed to death via one of their scrub massage combos and having all of my dead skin scratched off 2. Mix of wet / dry saunas, hot and cold plunges, and other cool rooms to try like cold room, salt room, jade room, and more! 3. The food here was actually pretty good. Had bulgogi and it was great Lowlights: 1. Price of food is very high, but you're paying for convenience 2. Some of the massage chairs were broken / didn't work fully 3. I've been to korean spa in the past but it was my first time coming to this place. If it is your first time coming here, they do a tour of the place after you pay at the register. There are two levels. Downstairs are where co-ed area which you will need to wear the clothes provided. The downstairs includes dining area where you can order food or drinks or you can go to any of the rooms which include clay, salt, jade, and cold. You can lounge around in the open space too if you want to. For the upstairs is where the other amenities. Both men and women room are separated of course. The amenities room upstairs includes dry and wet sauna, showers, hot jacuzzi, cold pool....this is also where you get your scrubbing....you have to be fully nude when using these services. I had the 60 minutes which is 30 minutes scrubbing and 30 minutes of massage/face mask/hair wash. They will scrub every inch of the body. There is also common area of the massage chairs. What an interesting experience! I've been wanting to try the Korean spa for quite some time now but never have imagined that the body scrubbed experience to be that personal. I've asked a few of my gfs to join me on this experience and some of them have highlighted that they do get invasive but in a good way. This place is totally not for shy people. If you want to use the sauna, steam room, hot tub, cold plunge or showers, be prepared to be naked. But there are plenty of things to do in the coed area which requires you to wear clothes.   I got my scrubbed and massage service with Joy and she was very pleasant. She asked me multiple times if I am ok with the scrubbed pressure, water temperature and made sure I was comfortable. It was pretty disgusting the amount of dead skin she scrubbed off so I felt so light and clean afterwards.   Overall, for my first Korean spa experience, I would give this place a 9/10. The facility had all the amenities I needed and more, staff was super helpful and friendly and the café food was tasty! I am planning to return every 6 months to feel smooth like a baby.   PS. Went here with a coed group and spent about 4 hours (max time is 5). Day passes are $40, and they give you an electronic key bracelet for your locker, plus a t-shirt and shorts to wear in the lounge areas. We arrived early around 10 am, which I'd recommend! Fewer people and everything felt freshly cleaned. The spa isn't "luxury," but it's fairly clean and cozy. We started with the complimentary 25 min massage chairs, then split into the separate locker rooms. In the women's area there are saunas, showers, hot tubs, and a cold plunge (no clothing allowed). Afterward, we met back up in the coed areas, which include a cold room and three hot rooms. Plenty of space, no issues with crowding (at least in the morning when we went). Finally, we ate at the cafe once it opened. I got the beef tofu soup ($22 including tax + before tip) and my bf got the spicy kalguksu. Prices were on the steeper side, but the food was tasty and felt like part of the full jjimjilbang experience. Overall, it was a fun, relaxing, and unique activity to do with friends. Had a little spa day here with my best friend since her and I share a stressful life which results in neck and back pain in our late 20s. When we both lived in SoCal, we would go to the Korean spas together and we were both surprised when we found this gem in Santa Clara!!! First off, we were so obsessed with the massage chairs... we melted in those chairs until our time was up (ok we maybe stayed like 5-10 extra minutes because it felt way too good, you can't blame us ). Then we made our way to the main heat rooms and enjoyed our time there. Ended of course with the ice room. The facility itself was very clean and I really liked how non-crowded it was either. They even gave me the option to move my time so we could all have our appointment at the same time. My appointment for my Korean scrub and massage started on time and Ahjumma Helen was very kind and put just the right amount of pressure during the massage. My only complaint was that a bunch of the massage chairs weren't working; either that, or I'm just unlucky! I was playing musical chairs in that room. We were greeted with very friendly service and given a tour of the facility upon arrival. The spa has two floors and three special rooms: a salt room, clay room, ice room, plus a heated floor lounge and a food/dining area. We shared japchae, donkatsu, and a kalbi combo plate between the three of us, huge portions and absolutely delicious. Korean spa food can sometimes be hit or miss with sweetness, but theirs was perfectly balanced and not too sweet at all. Upstairs has all the typical spa amenities: showers, steam room, dry sauna, hot jacuzzi, and cold plunge pool. Note that no clothing is allowed in the bath/sauna area, which is standard for Korean spas. Toiletries are provided (including toothbrushes), and there are blow dryers, lotion, and hairspray available as well. My only minor critique: the towels were quite thin and a bit ragged, and I was given one full-size towel and two small towels, which wasn't quite enough for the entire visit. My sister and friend did the 90-minute scrub and massage, which they said was excellent. I opted to relax in the sauna and also spent time in the full-body massage chair lounge, which was great. We arrived early at 10am, so it wasn't crowded at all, but it definitely picked up around noon and later. The price was well worth it, and with admission you can stay up to five hours. We stayed the full five and the time flew by. This was our first visit, and we truly enjoyed it. We're already planning to return for another day spa experience. Ample parking available. However, the couples room was overbooked, so we did not receive the room or massage therapists we requested. The locker room was also one of the worst parts of the experience. Do not, I repeat, do not scream when you enter the cold pool. It is set at 60 degrees and if your body is not use to it, a small screech may come out. Then you will get in trouble for being too noisy and loud! We booked body scrubs and took advantage of the facility. First we steamed, then sauna'd, then jacuzzi, then dunked into the cold pool and back into the jacuzzi. Once they called our numbers, we went into a room with 20 bodies laying flat down with their masseuse dressed in their standard uniforms of black bras and granny panties. It was quite a sight for first timers here! I gotta tell you, I LOVE me some body scrubbin'! SPLASH! Once you lay down, a big bucket of hot water is splashed onto your body. Then they get down and dirty and get into your business! Don't be shy because they get in there --coochie, nippies, pits, and butt crack! They miss nothing!! Once the scrub is done, you'll feel itty bitty bits of your skin floating around the table. Then you get massaged, facial and hair washed. It is the best! Afterwards, we dried up and took advantage of all the clay rooms downstairs. Then we hit the massage chair room. Great masseuse therapists, very hot sauna and steam rooms, a spacious place, coupled with a Bay Spa cafe with decent food... you can literally spend all day here! What sets apart Bat Area from Pearl Spa in SF (women-only, hard to get reservations, no cafe and smaller space) and PSY in San Leandro (also no cafe, more of a no-frills style) is their massive areas, their decent food at their in house Bay Spa Cafe, and plenty of lounging and communal space for hanging out and chillaxing. Oh, and their awesome massage chairs!! Upon entering and checking in with reception, you will first store your shoes at their shoe lockers. Then you will use the same key to your respective women or men locker rooms (same key, same locker number), undress, and start your soaking / steam room / sauna ritual ... lol. Then to your massage or scrub if you've opted for one. Then finally, you can soak again; or you can dress in their communal uniform and head to their first floor for some food, or to their communal lounging area, or to their clay / jade room for some detoxing / relaxing. Came here on a Friday before 10am. We wanted to come early to beat the crowds. But I guess Friday is not a quiet day. It was our first time so we were given a tour. There was no one in the hot pool yet. We did the massage chair for 30 min (complimentary) and after that, there were 8 women in the hot pool! So it was basically full since the pool wasn't big. I then went to use the steamed room. Then some ahjumma came out and called some numbers and 5 of the ladies in the pool came out! So I went to use the hot pool. But it really wasn't hot enough compared to the onsen in Japan. We went downstairs to try the 4 rooms in the common areas. The jade room was so small with only 4 mats and it was full. We spent the most time in the Salt room (the hottest room) since it was the biggest and empty! All in all, it was a good experience for us. I like the massage chair the most since it was relaxing. Make sure to do that first since there were people there who just sit there the whole morning sleeping away and snoring! $40 is a good deal. If it was closer to home, I would get the package. Also, I didn't do the massage or scrub since I read and saw that there was no privacy at all. Maybe I will change my mind next time. Also, it was a clean facility. Bay Spa is truly a gem in the Silicon Valley. I came here on a Friday afternoon with a friend who was visiting from out of town. We were thinking of doing the $40 day pass but decided to upgrade to the vital scrub premium. I've been curious about getting a body scrub and thought why not, it includes a massage and waives the day pass fee so it was $130 altogether. You get access to the 30 minutes in the massage chair, which is nice. It was very relaxing and quiet in there. They really worked out the kinks in my back. The massage chair room is co-ed. There are co-ed cold and hot rooms downstairs next to the cafe. I didn't partake in the cafe food. The different salt, gold, and cold rooms were very refreshing. Got some good stretches in. On the same floor as the massage room are the same-sex locker rooms, hot tubs, saunas, showers, and treatment rooms. They have a good amount of hair and skin products for you to use. Lockers are nice and secure. The hot tubs, cold pool, and sauna are mandatory no clothing. Can be a little awkward as a first-timer. Just look at people in the eyes. We were asked to shower and soak in the hot tub prior to getting our massages and scrub. The ajumma doing my scrub is STRONG. My skin has never been so smooth. She was very thorough and no surface was less unscrubbed. It was painful but tolerable. We were asked to shower after the scrub before the massage. I have never felt more relaxed and my skin has never felt softer than I did after this massage. Definitely an occasional treat, it makes for a fun girls' day. I got my money's worth for sure. What a TERRIBLE experience. My whole family has been here for many years but never have. I encountered such a horrible experience. The price you pay to get humiliated and become a clown in their establishment is not acceptable. The staffs there are extremely rude, listen if you are having a bad day don't put it on other people. $130 for the deep tissue massage is a joke. After the unpleasant experience, I wouldn't even accept $130 in payment to get it again. On many levels, it was unprofessional. Let me explain: (1) They leave the door wide open the whole time so that anyone walking down the corridor can see you changing in and out of your clothes and also see you during the massage. (2) My massage therapist was a Korean lady (I'd guess somewhere in her 60s) and when she asked me to take off my clothes, she didn't even leave the room nor did she bother to close the door. In fact, she was looking straight at me the whole time. Complete lack of respect for privacy. (3) The whole massage was incredibly painful and torturous. I was waiting for it to end and one hour seemed too long. I've received deep tissue massages many times before at other (more professional) places so I understand it's supposed to be painful at times when working through tight muscles knots but I also know that it's also balanced out by pleasant sensations of relaxation and release. But this massage was intense and painful the whole time! It was as if I wasn't allowed to catch my breath to enjoy it. (4) During the massage, the massage therapist kept aggressively advertising their package deal. You buy 10 and get the 11th for free. She told me to go to the front desk and buy it because it's a steal and it would be good to share with friends and family. She did this twice during the session, as if I didn't hear her the first time. This completely ruined the experience for me. I didn't pay $130 to be obnoxiously solicited to during the hour long massage session. Massage sessions should be peaceful and quiet with minimal distractions. (5) I have a sprained left thumb which is sore and I can't completely bend it because the massage therapist stepped on it multiple times with her entire body weight. WTH! Human fingers are NOT designed to withstand a human's entire body weight! (6) As soon as the massage was finished, my massage therapist shoved an envelope in my face asking me for a tip and said she would be waiting for me to bring it to her in the room. I was a little dumbfounded because the vibe was demanding. Anyways, I went to my locker and pulled some cash from my wallet, and I found her standing right by the locker room exit. I've never been stalked and aggressively pursued for a tip. Again, WTH Overall I feel worse after the massage than I did before receiving it. I'm never going back again and wanted to warn others so you know what you may get for your $130 with an extra $20+ in tip. read more

This place is packed. It's somewhat of a culture shock, I know a lot of ppl really enjoy it but it's not for everyone. It's not a luxury experience, the scrubbing and massage was uncomfortable and painful. Part of the challenge is I can't communicate with the therapist, I think communication would help contribute to a better experience.
