First the staff are warm, professional, and helpful every time I come in. I have used their services for foot massage, back massage, and my favorite, the massage where they walk on the back. I have a background in kinesiology and it is clear that the massage therapists are very knowledgeable in the musculoskeletal system and are very skilled in their techniques. Each time I come in, they focus on any request I have, for example my forearm was tight from my sport, and they were able to work on exactly what I needed. The pressure was consistently excessive despite my repeated requests to ease up. Even after specifically asking them to avoid my lower back. They continued to target it causing sharp pain. The technique relied entirely on harsh use of elbows and forearms rather than hands making the entire session an uncomfortable and physically taxing ordeal. The experience turned from bad to worse at the front desk. I was already feeling dizzy and drained so I was trying to leave quickly. The staff stopped me to demand a tip, even though I had already prepared 20% in cash. After I handed it over, there was no "thank you" and no professional acknowledgment. Instead, I was met with a prolonged silent stare that felt completely hostile and awkward. I went in for therapeutic care and was met with physical pain and unprofessional rude behavior. tl;dr Great value for money! Not a fancy place at all, but you get a strong massage for at very affordable prices. They accept both cash and card, no discount if you pay cash though. Both my husband and I got 90 minute massages - he got the hot stone and I got the deep tissue, each for $105. I haven't had a deep tissue massage before so I wasn't sure how it would be vs. a "normal" or Swedish massage. The masseuse started and asked if the initial pressure was fine, which it was. Over the course of the massage though, it ended up being a lot on certain areas so I did ask for the pressure to be reduced, which she did. For 2-3 days after, I still felt soreness all over my body, but it felt good when I wasn't putting pressure on my shoulders with a backback or something. Apparently she is no longer working here, but the girl I had recently was also great. I feel like she wacked me like a mochi ball and I came out soft and relaxed. I've been here twice as a walk-in and both times were great. The masseuse knows what she's doing! I've gotten the 60-minute Swedish massage and the 90-minute foot/body combo. Both were decently priced. During the massage, they check in with you to see if the pressure is okay and to ask which area needs the most concentration. Best massage I've had in YEARS. Really listened to my areas in need of attention and focused on them. It was -great- as far as massages go. However, it is a loud location where a lot of things are clearly happening and they keep the rooms fairly bright. Why didn't this bother me? I closed my eyes and focused on my muscles. If you want somewhere serene and relaxing without distraction, pay more for a remote place that will give you a worse massage. When it comes to foot spas, it's hit or miss. Most of the time you walk away satisfied, but when it comes to Tranquility Day Spa, we found GOLD! I called in to make a same day combo foot massage for 2. The combo massage is 30 minutes foot, 30 minutes body. I was able to get a time slot no problem. The lady, Judy, was very nice and accommodating. We arrived a little early, and paid first. I understand the reasoning behind this, no problem at all. We were brought in and sat in two comfortable chairs. They brought out a bucket of hot water for each of us to soak our feet in. Judy was my masseuse. The second when she started, I knew she was strong. I normally like medium, but Judy was amazing. She started on my head, which got me really relaxed. She did my scalp, behind the ears, forehead etc. It felt a little rushed in the beginning. She then moved to my feet, and she got in there. There are a lot of nerves in the foot and she was getting into all of them. I enjoyed it a lot. I would've liked if she did my calves a little more but next time. We was then brought into a private room for our body massages. This was when the magic happened. Judy asked which part I want her to focus on, I let her know my lower back, neck and shoulders. She instantly get to my lower back. I knew it was sore, as it always is but I didn't know how sore it was until she went in. She had the perfect pressure, to the point where it was a little painful but it felt so good. She really went in there and softened up my lower back. My shoulders and neck were the same, she really massaged everything out. I was sweating a little but that was probably the heated bed. At the end, I was so relaxed and melted.. I laid there for a second before getting up. My GF really enjoyed her massage with Helen as well. She said she was very strong and since she likes deep tissue, Helen was getting in there. Wow, I am blown away! Sophia gave me one of the best massages ever. She knew exactly how to clear my shoulder knots and crack my back in all the right spots. The price is unbeatable ($75 for 1 hr deep tissue). If you want a good massage for a good price, this place will be right up your alley. The establishment is on the older side. Everything is very clean. They don't have all the fancy bells and whistles of a high end spa, but I much prefer that instead of paying a premium. My only gripe is the noise level. 4.5 Stars It's not a fancy spa nor is it run down one. It's clean, comfortable and cozy. I was worried that it would be cold and chilly on a winter morning, but they had a little heater by me during the 30 min foot massage and the 30 min body massage had a heating pad which was appreciative. I did enjoy my massage. I informed them of what I wanted and the pressure strength was applied to my liking. I recommend making an appointment instead of a walk in. They don't have a receptionist to book appointments or take care of the front store so one of the masseuse would interrupt the service to answer the calls. A down side is that fetching the water, taking the water away, going back to get warm towels to wipe the lotion down takes time out of the massage. I wish they could do that after the service. Some other client in the Yelp thread said tipping is optional, but if you go to Starbucks or a restaurant, you're tipping them to make a quick drink or serve your food. These ladies work their hands and body for 60 minutes or however long your service is and they do this all day. They're really working hard and so I tip more than 20% or something reasonable. Even if I didn't enjoy it, I would still tip. A lot of the Asian establishments have you pay first because they have had patrons run off, say they would come back when they do not or their card did not go thru. How would you feel trying to run off after the patron when they refuse to pay when working your blood, sweat and tears for it? It does happen so I don't mind paying for the service that was agreed upon. I have MANY knots and I have been afraid that every masseuse would just go HAN on them and I would leave with bruises again. They have the basic amenities so don't expect anything fancy. But, the ladies here deliver! I had a very nice masseuse who was attentive and really worked at my shoulder muscles. It was a deep tissue aromatherapy massage and she was awesome! She was strong and precise so I don't think this place for anyone that likes a light massage. Finally carved out time thanks to the hubby watching the kiddos so I can go have a much needed me-time and deep tissue massage. This was my first time here and from appointment making this morning to arriving for services very accommodating and friendly. Facility was clean which is much appreciated as Covid is still around. I came in a hard pretzel and came out feeling a lot more softened. Judy was amazing and sooo strong to find and work on all the knots I had all over my body from neck, shoulders, lower back, forearms, and calves...basically everywhere. She climbed up and walked all over my back with amazing toes and feet skills to really go deep tissue on my back. This mama will be coming back again for more and perhaps try the hot rocks treatment next time as she recommended. My 1hr deep tissue was $75 and I tipped $20.
