So, I started a search for another contractor. I found Eduardo and his family from Texas Wood Flooring Service. I was putting in new tile 24" x 48" Italian Porcelain tile. As you can see from the size, this would not be an easy project. I could not be happier with their service. Floor XPO did me a favor by increasing their price last minute. If I hadn't had them mistreat me as a customer then I would never have gone looking for another contractor. I had 5 contractors come by the house. All had lower estimates than Floor XPO's original lower estimate. What a fool I felt like. I then decided on Texas Wood Flooring Service because I was so impressed with Eduardo's Mom and younger brother. Excellent promoters for the company. Then Floor XPO had told me that they couldn't do the work until April .... on their timing...not the customers need. We needed to get the work done during Spring Break because my spouse is a school teacher. Texas Wood Flooring began immediately...and again with a lower rate than Floor XPO. And, with 160 reviews. Floor XPO doesn't even have half that number of reviews. What were we thinking? They have a worker named Javier that did all the work by himself in getting the tile prepared and then laying the tile. By himself. And, he did it in just 3 days. Just shocked. According to Floor XPO, it would require a minimum of 2 people. As you can see, I don't care for Floor XPO (Christie or Michael). But, I love Eduardo, Javier and his entire family. Floor XPO said they couldn't paint the shoe molding. Well, strangely, Texas Wood Flooring installed and painted the new shoe molding and took care of installation of the transition pieces. These were not even included in the high price from Floor XPO...but, they were included in the price from Texas Wood Flooring. What a stupid idiot I was to trust someone like Floor XPO. I felt something was wrong with the company from the start, and I was right. I couldn't be happier with the company I chose. Please, everyone, don't hesitate to use Eduardo and his family from Texas Wood Flooring. I promise you, they do a spectacular job and on your timing...not theirs. They emphasize is obviously on customer service and doing a job that will make the customer proud. Again, I wouldn't hesitate to tell a friend to use them or any of my family. But, I will not ever use Floor XPO. Never. We are going to remodel our bathrooms and re-tile the entire house. It's a loss for Floor XPO, and they will learn in time that customer service is more than words but must be followed up with actions. We will be calling on Texas Wood Flooring to remodel our bathrooms (all 3) and re-tile 5 rooms. Too bad Floor XPO. But, THANK YOU, Texas Wood Flooring. And, I've got to again thank Floor XPO for leading me to the best. I'm so impressed and so thankful for their help. They make me so proud. And, I hope the owner of the company, Eduardo, realizes how lucky we feel to have him and his family and Javier do such an excellent job. I promise you that no one could do it better...no one. When I tell folks about them, they are so impressed. If I could buy stock in this company, I would. There is no doubt that this company will become very, very busy. Hector did a repair & paint job at my home. They finished today. The primary goal that I had was…read morethe repair and painting was secondary. The painting guys did really well and my carpet was not damaged and my furniture was ok and the furniture was moved and returned to the right place. The painters were nice and respectful and if you have a PAINT ONLY job they can do it. The repair was terrible. Really terrible. Really really terrible. They were planning to fix the drywall with shortcuts and when asked to have it fixed right, I was charged more to fix it right compared to the quoted price. I was ok to pay a little more if the job was done right and we told him that the main concern was to do the job right. I would have give a great review if it was done right even if it costed more. We agreed on a new price and the work continued. The texturing is really bad and doesn't match. When I told the crew that the texturing was terrible they said they weren't done yet and it would be better when they finished so we stayed out of their way so they can finish the work. They just painted over the bad texturing. Also, the answer on the quality of the repair is that my house is 20 years old and they don't make that texture anymore. And that I can see it because I know the repairs but others can't see it. This is not legitimate, texture doesn't have a time limit! And I will let you be the judge if you can see it or not. Overall I think I should've been told that the texture would not match and had the option to find alternatives before work stared. I was instead told they did this all the time, it would not be noticeable, and they can even build a whole house with the team that they have. The guys that did the texturing sprayed other walls and that did not get cleaned either before painting on top of it making a bigger mess. Although wiping down the walls before paint was in the quoted price and agreement, not a single wall was cleaned or wiped down proir to painting. The guys that did the texturing didn't really care about the work and kept going with the wrong texture.
