Agreed to the terms and everything was fine until installation and find there was a computer error and wanted me to pay an additional $1900 to complete my home which was one the original contract. Breach of contract salesman admitted error and they fail to make it right new computers and apologies but my house left incomplete. Very dissatisfied with their service I recommend you do not use them and have the salesman print the floor plan. This is resulting in legal actions. Do not use them unnecessary headache. read more

The installers were great but are subcontracted out. Our carpet took over 3 months from the first scheduled installation to actually have to have it redone. After we chose a nice grade of carpet and took measurements, I began getting worried about the price. Interested enough, it fell close to my planned budget. What's even more interesting is that he still found more ways to save me even more money, so I still ended up being below my budgeted costs. That is not just for the carpet, but included new padding, installation services, and 5-year protection plan. We took several bids for floors to replace our carpet with laminate flooring and finally took a bid from Empire. Our salesman Joseph laid out a plan and told us several things that were questionable at best. I had a stroke 8 years ago, and the right side was affected. I walk with a cane, and my wife was very concerned that the floor be level. We both made it very clear we needed the floor to be level. We pointed out there was tile under the current floor. Joseph's response was, "With our underlayment, the floor will be level." We paid the deposit and scheduled a day for installation. They came and installed the floor, just not as promised in the conversation but in the contract. The contract is about 15 pages long, and we missed it. We raised concerns about the uneven floor, 3/16 of an inch with a ¾ threshold, multiple times, and when the installer returned, we asked if he would install this floor for his own parents given my disability. After many months, I am still waiting. These people are professionals, but not for carpeting, to scam people. Several managers told me that they will help me. So far, nothing. They left voice messages saying they will help me but actually when you call back nobody answers, never. I think it is the old trick of a dummy extension. The estimator got verbal approval from manager and included the stretching in the special notes of the bid. Once the new carpet was installed we were told that Empire does not stretch older carpet and basically, "now that we got your money, too bad, so sad". This was my first time using Empire Today and overall my experience was absolutely AMAZING. I had a competent sales lady who helped me to find laminate floors that blended well with the other laminate floors I purchased from another vendor a year ago. I ended up getting floors placed in three bedrooms. At first I was going to do only two bedrooms, yet I wanted to ensure all three bedrooms had the same color floors. I requested during my estimate for the installers to move furniture I had in my master bedroom; one of the other rooms was empty and the second bedroom had boxes I was storing. The sales lady said, "No problem." She included my request for items to be moved on the cost which was rather inexpensive. On the day of the installation, I had a team of three to arrive. The team arrived at 10:00 a.m. They were polite, proficient, and courteous. I had moved everything out of the rooms but told them I would need assistance moving items back into their prospective places. I was again told, "No problem." This time it was spoken by the installer. They had to remove carpet out of all the rooms which was disposed of properly. The job was completed by 2:45 p.m. which included them assisting me with moving things back. They even did a great job cleaning up behind themselves. I was super excited with my experience with both the sales lady and the installers. I have not received any communications since and my project is still not completed and several damages to my property have been caused as a direct result of the company. If you use Empire and they do not finish the work, ask them to measure and write it on any order form. Then send it in to a manager to make sure the right stuff is brought the next time. I believe they rush the installations and I felt I was rushed in doing my final walk through, since it was about 9p. After they left and waited till the next day, during the day I did find some minor errors, due to what I believed a rushed job because they advised they had another job to do Saturday morning. This past Saturday I had my carpet installed, initially it was supposed to be installed on Wednesday but due to the weather it had to be pushed back. Although it rained on Saturday, the installers were able to use my garage to cut the carpet and install. They were very professional and got the job done. We had lived with bare concrete flooring in our home for 9 years. One day, after receiving a postcard from Empire with a buy one room, get one free, we decided to meet with them. The sales lady was a bit indifferent from the start and very forthcoming that she was getting another job. Though we wanted ceramic tile, she talked us in to Luxury Vinyl Tile. My husband is dealing with myself who is disabled, my wheelchair bound daughter, and my sick mother. Because of this we had specific needs in flooring. We ordered the LVT and carpet for our entire home. Because we were having family for the week after Christmas I wanted it done quickly. It only took a week for the tiling and half a day for the carpet. We adored both. Move forward six months, we begin having trouble with the LVT because of our old foundation. Eventually, after inspection from Empire, and a little due diligence in doing our part as requested by the company, the installation managers made the entire situation more than right. They made it better and we can't be happier. George and Turk in the Houston office knew what the right thing to do was, and they did it. All of these factored in to the type of flooring needed. The installation contractor and his crew were respectful of my family and our needs, our home, and most especially our new flooring. Because of the fact of the way we were treated and the way they stood by the flooring and installation warranty, I will recommend Empire Today to everyone. I was very leary when I read so many bad reviews. Bottom line is any of these issues that customers have written about can happen with any company..a large corporation or small mom and pop. You as the customer must be dilligent, but humans make mistakes. My previous owner had horrible carpet and I put up with it for four years. I never had the money. I didn't know that I could finance it. I got three rooms done with a nice grade carpet, for $1500. I was able to finance it and have up to four years to pay it off. You don't have that option at small companies. They want cash. I expect to pay it off within 18 months. The sales guy was very nice and not pushy. Carpet quotes appead to be varied on many factors; the measurements, the grade of carpet, etc. I called around to different places and no one would give me a quote over the phone. One guy hinted to me that I was getting a good price. Empire makes it very convenient. The sales guy came to my house late after I was home. They gave me a Saturday appt. I even had to delay my install a few weeks because I had a water accident in my home. They called me and checked in with me. The job was done in about five hours. They even moved all my stuff out of the rooms and took a couch for me that I didn't need, no extra charge. The job was done well and I signed off at the end. Carpet is not rocket science. You don't need and special training. Yes maybe some people got a few bad ones that didn't know what they were doing, but empire guarantees the work. I'm very happy with the service and product.
