We hired Floor Houston initially because of the high rating on Yelp, and all the four star ratings on the Floor Houston Facebook page. We hired them to install around 2800 square feet of 9 x 36 porcelain tiles from Flor and Décor herringbone style, install 450 square feet of straight lay wood look tile on our outdoor patio, a bathroom remodel with 9x36 tile to the ceiling and a wall nook with custom backsplash, install 300 square feet of wood floors upstairs, install wood on the stairs and a custom tile backsplash stair riser, and install a wood backsplash around the fireplace. Floor Houston Issues: 1. The job was not finished for about 2.5-3 weeks from the original estimate of 7-10 days. We had to stay in a hotel for an extra 7 days because the remodeling job was not complete. At the end of the 2.5-3 weeks our outdoor patio was still not complete. 2. Homeowner found multiple line item issues with original invoicing, and as I found these issues Floor Houston owner would update the invoice throughout the remodeling job. 3. We told Floor Houston owner multiple times to get the carpet and tile removed from our garage, and it did not get done for an additional 3-4 days. 4. Homeowner had to point out to Floor Houston owner tiles that were installed poorly and needed to be replaced. 5. Floor Houston hired a random cleaning crew on yelp.com to clean our house they did not have an active relationship with. 6. Floor Houston owner was not checking the quality of workmanship of his sub-contractors, and he only came out to the job site a couple times. Tile Sub-Contractor Issues: 1. They put hand prints, and water marks all over our walls. Floor Houston's recommended painter was a no show the morning he was supposed to come paint the water marks and hand prints so we had to hire a painter ourselves. 2. Found one tile that was a half inch higher that the others, and another tile in the kitchen which was partially damaged on the edge that was installed. Homeowner had to hire a contractor and pay him to fix these issues after the job was completed. 3. Ceramic thin set was used to hold down our porcelain tile instead of porcelain thin set. 4. Some of the tiles do not have enough thin set underneath them, and you can hear a hollow sound when you knock on the tile. 5. 20% of our base boards were damaged, and a number of them had grout and hand prints on them. One of the base boards had nails sticking through when the tile sub-contractor nailed it back after the tile install. 6. Tile sub-contractor threw away or took the standing pedestal sink from the powder room because he assumed the homeowner did not want it. 7. Tile sub-contractor did not install bathroom remodel toilet correctly and it would not flush. We had it fixed by a contractor we hired after Floor Houston was finished. Wood Floor Sub-Contractor Issues: 1. Wood was cut inside the house and the dust clogged our A/C blower in the attic. We had to have 3 service calls to get it working again. Floor Houston Positive Feedback: Floor Houston reimbursed us for 4 days in our hotel for our inconvenience, the cost to remove all the extra grout the tile sub-contractor did not remove, the cost to repaint the walls and clean the grout in the bathroom after the bathroom remodel, the cost to install a vanity and sink in the Powder Room. Floor Houston hired a cleaning company on Yelp to deep our house clean of wood dust. The wood stairs, the tile stair riser backsplash, the wood on the second floor, and fireplace backsplash came out beautiful after the Floor Houston owner got all the minor workmanship issues fixed on the stairs that the homeowner identified. Floor Houston hired two people to fix the base boards, touch them up with paint, and caulk the 90% of the entire house where we had the herringbone tile installed to give a much better finish look. Floor Houston Constructive Criticism: 1. Please know the quality of workmanship of the tile and wood sub-contractors you choose to use for work. Be more pro-active on the job-site in identifying issues with workmanship quality and don't depend on the homeowner to do it for you. This will save time and money in the end because the job will have been done right the first time. I think this will put the homeowner at ease, and improve your relationship with the homeowner in terms of future recommendations for work. 2. Finalize a contract, and sign it with the homeowner. Clearly explain line item by line item what could change if anything up front before the work begins. 3. Cover the kitchen cabinets with plastic or some other kind of material to protect them when removing kitchen tile, grout, and thin set. Overall Satisfaction: Overall the job came out looking really nice after all the finish work was complete. The process to get there was stressful for my family but I think the Floor Houston owner did the best he could to make us happy by reimbursing for a lot of the issues we experienced which we did appreciate. read more

Mr. Jamail Joey is a very insidious and cunning businessman who preys on naïve and credulous customers to build profits. I did not believe such an institution as Floor Houston exists in America until me and my wife had experienced it for the first time. I was not going to write a review until they threatened to upload all of my credit score, agreements and my documents online; However, I will not be succumbed to such bully and intimidation. When I first met Mr. Joey Jamail who is the owner of "Floor Houston", I had agreed to his overpriced estimate because I was impressed by his sincere, honesty and trust that he could provide an excellent product and service. As soon as we agreed on the price, he got his assistant named Nadia who fabricated a spider web of paper works with fine prints for me to signed, and I believed this will be his evident to fool proofed for all the schemes conducted on his customers. I was dumbfounded when he hired someone without any proven expertise named Gerson to install our laminate floor. After the floor was finished, it produced horrid and unpleasant creaking sounds whenever we walk on them. I complained to the installer and owner. After several days, they came to my house with another person who was an inspector who suggested fixing the transitions on the laminate but the horrid sounds still remain. We tried to contact him but he only answered us right after the warranty expired. I think this is an act of fraud conducted by Joey Jamail. The creaking noises could be from bad installation or bad products that Joey purchased from or both; However, he could careless because money was his top priority, how the product turned out on his customer floor was the last thing on his mind since he was never there to make sure the job done right. Joey Jamail also promised me and my wife that he would provide us with 2 Armstrong laminate square 2'x2' samples to help my wife with her cooking project. After almost one month of interchanging text messages of promises after promises, he texted "ok" for us come to his store and obtain 2 random samples since his installer was unable to build such samples. Joey Jamail was also aware that he texted me right after our warranty from his store had expired. We have 3 kids, and believed me how much patience we had to put up with after 1 month waited for him to fulfill his promises and how many arrangements we had to be made in order to go to his store and pick up the laminate sample. As soon as we showed up, he let his assistant Nadia handled us like we are some beggars waiting for pass out food while he was hiding behind the room like some coward. Nadia said the only thing they can give us is some random planks and nothing else. We felt shocked, disgusted and cheated by such treacherous, so we took 2 samples from his store as angers had taken over but returned them as soon as we realized it was stupidity and wrong doing. Jeon assisted me with my purchase. I was looking for something quite unique and was on somewhat of a timeline. He found some great alternatives and even gave me the option of picking up the materials at their main distribution warehouse. Be certain with your measurements and extra material needed when doing your floors. Just like most major tile companies the restocking fee is 50% but what do you expect! And if there are any leftover boxes make sure your contractors are not opening boxes that aren't going to be utilized. The service overall was quick and efficient. I'd like to thank Floor Houston for contacting me to work through the issues that I had. I upgraded their rating because they were willing and able to address my concerns. Positives: They were quick to get a team to our house and they worked fast. They were able to provide the product we wanted at a very reasonable price. The tile team broke another tile but quickly fixed their mistake. Negatives: Communication and customer service is substandard. The final product was not as good as we had hoped. Horrible your customer service!!! I started my inquiry on 10/02/12 on getting a quote and flooring samples sent to your Austin location. I was talking to Joe at the time who at first was very helpful. I waited two weeks to get my samples and never received anything. I then sent multiple calls and text asking to confirm if the items had been shipped and also for a tracking number. Every time i called my call get sent to voicemail as if my call was getting rejected. Every time I sent a text I never received a response. It wasn't until I started calling from different numbers that I would get an answer. This is when I realized that I was being ignored on purpose! What kind of client service is that?! I finally got a hold of Joe from a random number and told him that I didn't want to assume the worst and just wanted to see if he could reship my samples. Once again, he was nice about it and said he would. I also asked for a tracking number which he said he could provide. A month later, still nothing or tracking number!!! Finally in January I got a hold of Joe once again and ask what was going on. I offered to just pick up samples in the Austin warehouse if he could confirm if they had any. He said he would check and email me back. Of course he lied and never followed up with me. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt by calling him once more to ask if he emailed me. When he answered, he told me to "Hold on" and then hung up. This was early January. Finally I tried one more time today 1/22/14. First call, no answer. Second call was answered with an annoyed "Hello" which I responded to "Hi, this is Johnny, I just want to.." The person on the other end just sighed and hung up. Then I called back twice in 5 mins at which point the call went to voicemail after 2 rings, thus proving that the call was rejected. That is just absurd! WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD!!!!! We have an issue after installation but nobody showed up on the day it was decided to fixed. We waited and scheduled our job to accommodate, the job was supposed to start at 10, after 50!calls n msgs the guy showed up for 10 mins at 2 pm to let me know he will schedule another day, his boss Joey spoke nothing about our job scheduled today and left. He fixed the three borders that popped out within 5 days. We had to pay extra for leveling after the work started. joey assured we will not need leveling but after work started they asked either to pay for leveling or live with dancing floors. They promised it will be done in two days but took four days. Even after leveling the floors in bedrooms are uneven and Joey no more reply's. If we are nice and kind and polite he thinks we are stupid. I will contact the BBB for their unprofessionalism. They installed garbage that looks nothing close to the photos they sent. I called Joey and he sucked, he could care less, was rude, and tried to tell me this is what I paid for. I have photos of what I bought, and he installed garbage. Furthermore, I just painted my walls, and there are dirty handprints everywhere, including GLUE on my walls, There is glue on the floor as well. This guy Joey is RUDE. He quoted me, it was a good price and I accepted. He did not tell me that it would be a floating floor. The crew showed up did most of the work in two days and broke several items in my house. Including the sand vase from my wedding ceremony. They left and did not come back to finish the floor. We called Joey over and over. They showed up at our house one day to finish and we were on our way to a family reunion. We had to turn them away. The next time I was able to get a hold of Joey by text he told me he would charge $125 for them to come finish the job. He told me to contact his attorney and never gave me his attorney's info when I asked. After further inspection there is a huge HUGE HUGE chunk missing under my bed, I assume from them carelessly throwing my stuff around. They are unprofessional. The price kept going up and up after they got to my house as well and when I asked several times for a final invoice Joey kept saying he would send it and never did. Also, his prices are great! Juan, the installer, came on the scheduled date with his team and worked quickly and efficiently. We love the floors and get many compliments.
