You'll need to project manage with them a bit, but they got the job done at a great price We had really old shag carpet that needed to be removed and the hardwood underneath sanded and treated. Turns out the hardwood under the carpet was less thick than wood in the kitchen. They had the expertise to advise us on our options, either using thresholds or spending more to replace the thinner wood. We opted to spend some more so that we wouldn't have annoying thresholds in very visible places. We still appreciate the advice from Michael that we should keep the thicker wood in the kitchen so that we don't create mismatch in levels with the built in cabinetry already there They did a great job sanding everything level and put a few stain samples for us to determine which one we'd like. When they made a mistake in treating everything with a satin finish when we had wanted matte, they were willing to come back and fix it without charging us extra. They disposed of the ripped up carpet and baseboard. We hired floor de le on recommendation of our realtor. The floors in our new home were scuffed and we wanted them less shiny. I was a bit concerned after seeing some of the Yelp reviews but I'm very pleased with the results. They finished the project earlier than anticipated and were communicative throughout the process. Need minor touch up of baseboard paint (as stated in their contract). But otherwise no issues and the floor looks amazing. Would recommend. read more

We went with a recommendation from our realtor who had prior success with them. We purchased a perfect condition new house and just wanted the floors sanded and tinted before moving in. Long story short - the workers damaged our stairs, our walls, our floors (sanded down to where you can see the nails, warps), glued all our vents shut that had to be drilled out by someone else, didn't cover *anything* - sawdust everywhere up to the ceiling, left our furniture in the rain, damaged the balusters, door frames, etc. We had to buy 6 HEPA air units just to be in the house (not one air vent was covered!) as my wife and baby have asthma. We are now in a legal situation to recoup the damages because we STILL don't have their Bond information for insurance (since December!?). Would not recommend. Accidents happen but to screw up this bad and to ask us to go in half for the damages was a shock... It's all in how someone corrects issues. This has been going on since November and now we are forced to get lawyers involved :/ Very friendly folks on the phone though who work the front office... I just think they got unlucky with some workers. read more

Oh good g-d do not hire these people! Our floors looked pretty good but had a few scratches and some sun damage (fading). We are selling the house abd just wanted to get them sparkling before going on the market. Everything in the house was ready and the floors were the final touch. We debated whether we wanted to do them or not because they already looked decent but decided it was worth it for the wow factor. We had a goal to get the house on the market by a certain date especially for tax reasons , which is now delayed by several weeks at least. We chose a color. First of all, they did not disclose that they are not licensed and do not have insurance and they hire day laborers who are unlicensed and uninsured and do not have experience. They ruined our entire house. The color is not what we chose at all. It's far darker and more yellow/orange. There are glops of stain poured on in several areas, some areas are black. The paint and baseboards are ruined. The walls themselves are chipped and damaged. There are areas where you can see large circles of stain glopped on and there's a large circle of extra stain in the middle of the room. These guys set off the fire alarm because they didn't cover the smoke detectors before starting to sand . They didn't cover anything!!! Instead of calling me, they played with the panel, trying to figure it out and even hitting the panel. My panel took a 5 minute video of them cursing and slamming g their hands on the panel, trying to stop it. They never called me though! The fire department was called and I was charged for that call. Why were they tampering with this equipment? Why didn't they call me immediately? Why did they not cover anything?? It's all on video. The stove doesn't work now because It has 1/2 inch of sawdust inside of it. The windows do not open and close anymore because they are full of sawdust. They were brand new windows The painters finished painting two days before. I paid them thousands. They have to paint all over again. It's ruined. It's so bad! The vents are full of sawdust and it's not safe to breathe the air so we will have to hire someone professional to come clean the venting system. The house needs a deep cleaning and I can't imagine what it'll cost because there is sawdust dust literally EVERYWHERE . There's handprints (stain handprints) on walls and cabinets and counters. In one place it looks like someone fell and his stained hands streaked down the wall. The baseboards need replacing because they are so damaged. I'm currently having a professional, licensed company re do the floors and it's costing a lot more because they have to fix such a mess these guys left! They sanded down too far so boards need replacing. They did not advertise or disclose that they are running a business without a license or insurance until my husband called them. Jenny then told him she couldn't pay anything because she had paid the guys and didn't know how to contact them . She said the guys don't have licenses or insurance and they already cashed their checks so she can't get the money back to give to us. Meanwhile, I had called Michael at the same time and he refunded the payment I made immediately which Jenny didn't know. but they have refused to pay for damages. When my husband called Jenny back she told him that he gave her a heart attack from his first call and that she was in the hospital and couldn't talk. That was Friday. When I called her the following Monday , she had somehow made a full recovery from her heart attack. When I asked for her insurance to file a claim, she started coughing and told me I was harassing an old lady. She began to dramatically make hard breathing and gagging noises, yelled " you are harassing! I'm having heart attack because of you!" I told Jenny this: "Jenny, take a deep breath. You're not having a heart attack. You're running an illegal business and scamming people". She stopped coughing and said "sorry sweetheart." This is illegal. It is fraudulent. It is immoral. I will be suing these scam artists. I should have done my own due diligence and investigated prior to hiring them. Learn from my mistake of not investigating prior to hiring them and Run!! Do NOT hire these scam artists. Update: I found their business license and insurance info online. Do they are insured but don't want claims. They're getting a claim. read more

They showed up and did the work. They missed a couple spots in the living room. Ive called 4 times in a week. No answer. My contractor- designer was unorganized and did such shoddy work, it ruined the stain in the kitchen so Floor De Le was supposed to come back. I've offered to pay. I'm still waiting after calling 4 times with no reply. Maybe it's worth paying a little more to another company. What I learned is the lowest price may turn out to be the most expensive. read more

If I could leave a -* review I would. This company was recommended by our contractor - who I trusted would not lead us astray - WRONG!! This company is terrible! They had various crews (different company) sanding the floors and then a completely different crew (company?) putting the seal coat on. (I am cutting and pasting this from another review - because it is EXACTLY the same issues I had): - the workers damaged our stairs, our walls, our floors (sanded down to where you can see the nails, and now the floor is warped), glued all our vents shut that had to be drilled out by someone else, didn't cover *anything* - sawdust everywhere up to the ceiling, damaged the balusters, door frames, etc. They left all of the doors to our home unlocked and/or open when they left each day, every single baseboard is ruined and I will have to have the floors redone to repair all of the damage that was done by Floor De Le. Called these guys on recommendation from a real estate agent I know. Turns out they also had a positive Yelp review from a friend of mine, which also helped our decision. We had water damage and bad warping in two places on a red oak hardwood floor. Most flooring places will not do repairs; they want to refinish the entire floor. Floor de Le agreed to take a look at it, said they could replace some boards, showed me how they would match them as close as possible and assured me it would be barely noticeable. The quote to do the work was incredibly reasonable, I thought. Much less than i expected. The people who did the work showed up on time, were courteous, polite, neat and clean. While the office person cautioned us at great length about protecting our furnishings from sanding dust, in fact, they had a vacuum attached to their sander and there was not a speck of dust anywhere. All of the precautionary measures we took were totally unnecessary. the floor looks amazing! They were absolutely correct; no one would ever know it had been repaired. Blends right in with the older flooring. Give these guys a shot. You won't be disappointed. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I got a little scared reading some of the bad reviews after I had already started work with Floor De Le. We had booked them on the recommendation of our real estate agent as I saw some others did too. We were having our oak hardwood floors re-done in a house we just bought in the Sunset -- a 2 bed, 1 bath (1,150 sq feet). The previous owner had been there 47 years. The floors were pretty worn and there was some water damage near the front window and slight warping in spots. We had them refinish all the hardwood (dining room, living room, hallway, and both bedrooms). I anxiously waited for them to finish and the floors to dry, so we could see what we paid for. To my pleasant surprise, the floors looked great! They fixed all the problem spots. It all blends seamlessly. The new stain color (golden oak) and finish looks better than I hoped. Michael had worked on our floors, and I have to say, did an incredible job. There was one small crack left behind in a baseboard, but that's super easy to fix. We didn't have any issues with excessive dust left behind or any damage apart from that one baseboard crack. Decided to give a review (rarely do them unless I'm well pleased or really disappointed). I found Michael's info via Yelp & his reviews were positive overall for re-finishing work & minor repairs, just what I was looking to have done for our two-story home that we were putting on the market. He brought an assistant with him to look at the property & provide a quote within 48 hours. It was our third & his was most reasonable! He was quick & thorough; he made sure the work was expedited fast and with attention to detail. He did not do our stairs though since they looked fine. His team, however, removed all hardware on the stairs holding runner down and agreed to haul for recycle/reuse. We liked his company's work so much that we recommended him to our neighbor. They also did so well with his floors that when his house went on market, he was under contract within less than 10 days for above asking! Highly recommend. read more

We have used the Lee's service since 1994 when we had several rooms of hardwood floors in a multi-unit apartment building we own. The estimates were always reasonable and the re-finishing was quick and the clean-up professional. In our home we had parquet floors that got flooded and the hardwood squares were a different thickness than current wood parquet tiles. Floor De Le workers were able to grind-down the larger stock to fit in the places where tile replacement was needed. We ended up with a beautiful re-finished living room --and we had other rooms with old hardwood -sanded, re-stained and re-finished at a reduced price along with the original job. read more

These guys swoop in and do an OK job. Where they fall short is upon completion. They installed new wood and didn't alternate the boards, which was an obvious flaw. Michael will not go above and beyond and you don't feel like you have someone in your court when mistakes are made. Although they tell you that their work is guaranteed, this is not true. These guys did a fantastic job finishing our hard wood floors. They returned calls and emails almost immediately and were flexible when I had to change the date. Our floors were so dated and we considered getting all new floors. They gave me the best advice and suggested I stick with what we have (which was a tenth of the cost). All I asked them to do was go a share lighter and the results far exceeded my expectations. They were also the most reasonably priced option I found. read more

We recently bought a fixer upper home. When carpets were pulled up, hardwood floors in poor condition were revealed. We contacted Floor De Le and asked for an estimate since some of the wood needed to be repaired and we wanted it all done before we moved in. They said they could make the repairs and would put 3 coats on. They did the repairs the first day and when we went back to look at the work, we discovered they had used very mismatched wood that made the repairs stand out like a sore thumb. We immediately called, and the owner came out the next morning and argued that it was fine. Eventually she agreed to have the workers re-do some work with matching wood, but not without some unpleasantness that should have been unnecessary. Although we were at the house the second day, they didn't ask for our approval on the repairs and instead quickly got a second coat on so that we couldn't walk on it. They planned to do the final coat the next day, but we got there before them and pointed out problem areas - things like gouges in the wood that hadn't been fixed throughout the house. All in all, it was a sloppy job, done in three days instead of the week they had originally planned (they said they had another job to hurry to). The finish is rough to the touch and there are a few exposed areas where one could get a splinter. Not all areas received 3 coats of varnish in the areas where they had to fix their errors. The overall lack of quality really shows up when using a Swiffer mop to dust the floors. Instead of gliding, it jerks at every flaw they left throughout the house. We had to move in, so we're living with it, but we're disappointed. We think they are capable of outstanding work, but it didn't happen this time unfortunately. We suspect that because of the repairs, it turned out to be a bigger job than they estimated and that they may have decided to cut corners once they began working. read more
