Hilario did a great job replacing a section of our bamboo kitchen flooring that got damaged from a dishwasher leak. He and his assistant charged a fair price, were reliable and courteous, and worked efficiently and thoughtfully to get the job done. I would definitely recommend him for your next flooring installation or repair project. read more

Craftsmen Floor Co - Repaired floor - Flooring Near Me

Hilario and Salvador did an excellent job removing the old carpet and installing oak flooring in my 1912 Craftsman home. They were professional, punctual, polite and personable. The process went very smoothly from Hilario's initial visit through the finishing stages of the project. They came up with a few workarounds for unexpected challenges with a minimal (and entirely fair) impact on the final price. The price was among the lowest I was quoted, and the quality of their workmanship was superior. I highly recommend Craftsman Floor Co. read more

Mr. Hernanez at Craftsman Floor was honest, easy to work with. He came out right away and after receiving several quotes from other vendors we had Mr. Hernanez (with his great price) fit us into his schedule to complete the work quickly. Mr. Hernanez brought new life by repairing, restoring, and refinishing the well worn floors in our 1930's house. He did so for the price he quoted. The attention to detail was so impressive. The work he & his crew did was excellent and the new floors are beautiful. Mr. Hernanez did an amazing job. I also have to say that he left the place so clean that I could not tell that sanding had taken place. I would highly recommend Craftsman Floor, Mr. Hernandez (510) 290-2159. read more

Craftsmen Floor Co. did an outstanding job with replacing all the hardwood floors in our 1919 Craftsman Bungalow. Daniel and his team (Hilario and Salvador) were hardworking, meticulous and very respectful of our home. They masked off all the doors and built-ins to keep the dust to a minimum and tidied up every evening which was very important to us since we continued to occupy the house throughout the project. They were also very flexible with breaking the project into two phases to minimize the disruption to us. Daniel and team offered excellent suggestions to ensure that the new walnut feature strip in the entry, living and dining rooms and the borders throughout were authentic to the period of our home. They also provided beautiful and inconspicuous transitions from the hardwood flooring into the tiled kitchen and bathrooms. They even repaired some termite damage they discovered in the old subfloor and fixed the hallway door trim that was installed incorrectly back when my house was built over 100 years ago. These guys are true craftsmen and take tremendous pride in their work (plus they're really nice people to work with). I highly, highly recommend them!! read more

Craftsmen Floor Co. did an amazing job refinishing our tired, scratched, water-damaged, and stained hardwood floors. The floors, which had been so ugly the previous house owners had hidden them under carpet, look almost brand new now. Co-owner Hilario Hernandez was great to work with--friendly, polite, on time, and a great communicator. He was also super accommodating: when informed that our baseboards might not arrive on time, he said he could work with that and return another time to install them, even though that would have disrupted his schedule on other jobs. He a squeezed our job in at short notice (a day after I confirmed we had accepted his work proposal) and completed work on our two rooms in record 1.5 days. Their prices are super competitive as well. I wish all contractors were as wonderful to work with as Craftsmen Floor Company! read more

Dan is a total lifesaver and professional. I met Hilario briefly too, though Dan was on point for our job. Craftsmen Floors were recommended to us by EcoHome in Berkeley to install bamboo and Sono ceramic flooring. He sealed and evened out our slab foundation, and installed floors in much of our house. He was meticulous and thoughtful, perfecting the places where different flooring met. I cannot recommend them highly enough. read more

These folks were recommended to us by EcoHome (another great business!). I'm usually skeptical of contractors referred by retailers (having been burned before) - but I felt like I could trust EcoHome. I'm so glad I took the recommendation. They did an excellent job installing new cork flooring in our kitchen and dining room. Their estimate was totally reasonable (came in much lower than another company) - and their work was impeccable. Daniel (I believe he's the owner) was helpful and professional. Hilario (who did the estimate and most of the actual work) was friendly and precise. The floors look awesome - great attention to detail. And, they get the award for leaving our house every bit as clean as when they showed up. That's unfortunately a rare tendency among contractors. I'll call these guys again as soon as we have more floor work to do, and I strongly recommend them. read more

Craftsmen floor recently installed CoreTech flooring from EcoHome Improvement in our downstairs. We are THRILLED with the results and could not have been happier with the service they provided. We had just finished an earthquake retrofit and remodel of our downstairs, and pulled out the old asbestos tile to reveal cracked, un-level concrete subfloor. We were weeks away from having our second baby and presented with the challenge of finding a flooring solution that was beautiful, affordable, and non-toxic for our kids--all before the newborn arrived. Several contractors had already quoted us huge prices just to level the floors, which they said would be required before we even purchased and installed any hard flooring material. We were about to give up and install carpeting, even though we really didn't want to, as we were running on limited funds after remodeling most of the downstairs. Enter EcoHome Improvement and the CoreTech flooring (great product! Give it a look!). EcoHome said Daniel and his team from Craftsmen Floor Company would know how to get our job done, affordably. Daniel did not disappoint. He was a magician and knew about all kinds of easy, cheap options that would not require leveling the floor. The install team, lead by Hilario, was meticulous and professional and got the job done FAST! They squeezed us in to the schedule and we now have a gorgeous floor that we could not love more--we really can't believe how lucky we were to find this business. read more

Having remodeled my entire house, I have been disappointed with 90% of the contractors that have helped me. In other words, I'm picky. Daniel and his guys were great. Really trustworthy. Great attention to detail. Really nice. And their estimate wasn't the highest. They did the flooring in a small addition that connected with my living room and kitchen. It all looks seamless and my floors look fabulous! read more

I had a great experience working with Dan and Hilario. I was referred to them by Ecohome in Berkeley and it was great from start to finish. They were flexible and gracious on juggling time/scheduling for the start of the job (unexpected changes) and then they came in and were a pleasure to work with. I exchanged many emails and calls with Dan in advance of working together and he was personable, professional, direct, clear and easy to connect with. He stayed in close communication with me throughout the job and updated me regularly on what was unfolding so there were no surprises. My house began to look absolutely beautiful the moment Dan and Hilario were only half way through the job. I am thrilled with how thorough they were and their eye for detail as well as how much they care about the customer experience. I will refer them over and over again. Truly a pleasure and the value continues on. read more

The guys at Craftsmen Floor Company installed a bamboo floor over the old 1980s tile in my kitchen and refinished my ailing splinter-y redwood deck. They were referred to us through Green Fusion in San Anselmo which is no longer in business. They were in and out while we were on vacation, and left everything cleaner than it was when they arrived-- no sawdust or anything, which is great for those of us who have asthma. My worries about gaps in the flooring and non-matching replacement baseboard turned out to be totally unfounded, and four years later the flooring still looks great. Overall, it was a quick and painless experience, and I'd highly recommend Hilario, Daniel, and the rest of the crew at Craftsmen Floors. They're great! read more

We were referred to Daniel by our designer when we decided to remove all the carpets and have uniform hardwood floors throughout our large flat in San Francisco. We also wanted to replace the floor coverings in our lower level and due to a few water issues over the years, we decided to install Coretec downstairs. Daniel was able to do both projects, and Hilario and Salvatore did the day to day work. Our project revealed some surprises underneath the carpet and we were shocked by some of the them, but Daniel and Hilario assured us they'd seen and repaired worse. After 3+ weeks, we had gorgeous wood floors upstairs and a fabulous Coretec floor in our lower level. Work was done in a manner that permitted us to remain onsite. We are thrilled with the final product, the cost was very reasonable for all the work and the timeline was achieved. We enthusiastically recommend Daniel and Hilario to anyone looking for a hardwood floor project. read more

Daniel put in a cork floor for us, and squeezed us into the schedule at the last minute to help keep our project on time. It wasn't a big project, but they were efficient, professional, reasonably priced, and did a beautiful job. Oh - and they were really nice guys. I'll definitely call them if we need other floor work done, and even passed their info along to my contractor! read more

Daniel and his crew are the best! We, too, heard about Craftsman from EcoHome, and couldn't have been more pleased with both the supplier and the contractor. Lots of stuff had to be moved to do the flooring, and they did it all with attention to detail, and respect for our things. When they were done there was a small place in the flooring (cork) that needed attention -- one tile that looked 'dirty' -- and they replaced it immediately, graciously, and with good humor. Highest kudos to them. Daniel is a real mensch! read more

These guys installed our new flooring and were recommended by Ecohome. They were super professional and did extremely impressive work. I recommend calling them for any flooring install project. They are low cost, honest, on-time and do a good job. If you don't already know, these attributes are exceedingly rare in the contracting world. read more

Daniel and his foreman, Hilario, are wonderful. They installed new bamboo flooring in our place and we love it. Their prices were very reasonable and since they've been doing this for years, they're really skilled and knowledgeable. When some of the pieces of bamboo started separating because of the funky way our place was built, they repaired the floors at no extra charge. I'd highly recommend them! read more

We hired Daniel & Hilario when our General Contractor was unable to match our hardwood floors after some renovation work. We were amazed how quickly & beautifully they solved the problem! We wanted products with as little VOCs as possible and they had no problem accommodating our requests. On top of doing excellent work at a very fair price, they are extremely nice guys and so pleasant to work with. We've hired 11 different subs on our renovation and can honestly say they were the most enjoyable to work with. In fact, we're about to hire them again to fix some water damage we had. read more

I used Craftsmen Floor Company to install our hardwood floors and repair some existing original 1950s hardwood flooring. Their estimate was higher than some but they know their stuff. Two things I didn't like: 1. They did not want to sign a contract for the job. A red flag in my book. 2. For the repairs, they wanted to charge more than the original estimate. Both situations turned out to be workable but made me nervous. In the end, I'm happy with the results. read more

We got Daniel's number from EcoHome in Berkeley...so glad we did. He and Hilario moisture-proofed our downstairs room and put down some cork flooring. We're happy with the floor, and almost as important we were very impressed with Daniel's expertise and kind demeanor. He did a moisture test on our concrete before his quote, came up with a fair price, worked with us to minimize fumes from the epoxy moisture barrier he put down, and was just a pleasure to have in our home for the day. It was a small job, but we felt well taken care of. Thanks Daniel! read more

This review is way overdue. Daniel, Hilario, and team were referred to me by EcoHome to install new hardwood flooring in my condo a few years back and their work is amazing. From removal of the existing carpet, insulating a seam where the floors meet the wall, installing new flooring, and even re-cutting my front door, their workmanship is excellent and worthy of the name "Craftsmen". To top it off, their quote was extremely competitive and I really appreciate Daniel's down-to-earth, professional, and warm approach to business. Thanks guys! read more

Daniel Leonard and his crew did a great job installing a cork floor in our house. He was very sensitive to my environmental concerns, finding a good alternative to epoxy for dealing with moisture issues in the slab beneath. They were quick (beat their original estimate for time to complete the job), clean, professional and the result looks great. read more

Three or four years ago, we had Daniel and crew refinish our kitchen oak floors, and couldn't have been happier with the results. I am very particular, and our kitchen was a difficult job, with an island and built-in desk that made for convoluted, cramped spaces. I was nervous about scratches on my cabinets (only takes one slip of the sander), but their work was perfect. They even repaired some lame work by the original installer for no extra cost. So, now we just had them install 3/4" T&G oak in two bedrooms and closets. Again, they really did an outstanding job. I should also say that the finish products they use are really durable. Our kitchen shows little wear despite heavy use. They did two coats of oil base and two coats of water base on top to match the warmer oil-based finish of our older floors, and it really looks great. We were dreading having dust infiltrate the whole house, but they made very little and kept the worksite spotless. I am leery of contractors, but these guys are very trustworthy and I give them my highest reccomendation. They are not the cheapest, but after seeing what the low bidder did to my mother's floors, A little more was well worth it. read more

I agree with everything I've read by all the other posters here. Daniel & Hilario & crew did a fantastic job installing CoreTec flooring for our kitchen and laundry room/pantry (all told about 275 sq ft), and milling and installing custom baseboards. They estimated 3 days of work and finished in 2 + 2 hrs on the 3rd day. Great work, lovely people, and a very fair price. Couldn't recommend 'em any higher! read more

We had an excellent experience with Craftsmen Floor. Daniel, Hilario, and the crew installed about 2500 sq ft of engineered pine and bamboo that included lots of stairs and trim work. The job was done carefully, efficiently, and for a reasonable price. We would absolutely hire Craftsmen again and recommend them without hesitation. They were recommended to us through Eco Home in Berkeley, where we bought our flooring and had a similarly excellent experience working with Monti there. read more

These guys were recommended by Ecohome in Berkeley. Daniel the owner did the estimate for our three bedroom job - pulling out the old carpet and installing new wood floors. Dan is professional, knowledgeable and low key -- his estimate was reasonable. Hilario was the foreman on the 2 1/2 day job. He and his crew are polite and punctual. They did a great job of installing the floors! They pay great attention to detail; you can tell they take a lot of pride in their work. They cleaned up after themselves and hauled away all the trash. They vacuumed my garage so clean there wasn't a speck of dust left. I highly recommend them! read more
