Had a blast here picking tiles for a home renovation project. We were helped by Abe and Kevon who took our ideas and used their knowledge to bring our project to life in a unique and unexpected way. We couldn't find exactly what we wanted, but with the options available at the store we were able to create a concept we got excited about. I also noticed that everyone (ok, most) working at the store was personable, smart and happy. Worth a visit for home improvement needs. Something worth noting: when leaving your name for pickup, know that the person on the order would need to have their ID or listed number to pick up. I will give a zero stars! I purchased floors from different companies and never have a problem like the one with Floor & Decor. Purchased $2500 floor for my house, and one year later the floor started to break!! After speaking with several people, managers Nicholas-Yanira, Andrea, all very unprofessional and rude, I sent pictures of my problems. Took almost 2 months to answer and another month to send someone to inspect the floor. The worse excuse they ever gave was the island was placed on top of the floor, so I called several contractors to come to the house, and they agreed it doesn't make any since the island is small and weighed about the same as the refrigerator or stove??? They don't know what they are talking about! Now I have a dangerous floor where we can't walk without shoes because we could get splinters. I spent all that money here and never will again. I will stick with Home Depot or LUMBER LIQUIDATOR!! I will never recommend Floor & decor to anyone!! read more

Nice choice is flooring. This was my first time in the store and i was impressed by the large selection they have. Another great perk is they are open on Sunday. i did talk to one employee who was super helpful but all the rest of them seemed clueless or careless. Many just walking aimlessly around, or delivering product and they will run you right down in an aisle with carts filled with hundreds of pounds of materials. Not the safeest thing i've ever seen. Prices varied a lot, they have expensive and cheap products to choose from. Overall good. I currently have the floor installed and i am happy with it. I'd come back for sure read more

I was very concerned about buying a hardwood floor for my brand-new NYC apartment since that would be the most expensive item on my renovation. I was very lucky to find Mr. Tim Finan to help me at Floor & Decor in Wayne, New Jersey. He was very knowledgeable on the different kinds of wood, proactive in asking me pertinent questions so I could make up my mind, and precise in his advice about the purchase and the installation. Tim went an extra mile to patiently answer my questions from beginning of the purchase to the delivery at my apartment. He made me feel confident with my purchase and now I have a gorgeous wood floor installed in my apartment! This is my second purchase of different products at Floor & Decor and I couldn't be more satisfied. Congrats to the upper management that hired Tim! Found a tile color I loved but the variation between boxes was extreme. The tile was natural marble in greens, gray/white, and earthy shell colors. However, the variations were: display - mint green; several boxes - chartreuse green; several boxes- jade green. A few of the workers there told me that there's no consistency with tile because it's natural. That is BS. If you call a lot of tile "CARIBBEAN GREEN" it should all have the same shade of green. The same tile is sold by multiple vendors with different names depending on the shading of the green - for example, Icelandic Green. The "manager" - who was extremely rude - told me the vendor was recalling the tile because of inconsistency with color and if I didn't buy it today, it would be gone tomorrow. "Thrown in the garbage" she said. But the store would be refunded for the full amount of tile they "discarded." I asked for a discount - because it took me two and a half hours to sort through the tile to find tiles that matched in the color for my project. The manager refused and said they couldn't give me a price discount because they had to return the tile. Again BS. If they gave me a discount, they would be making more money than by just getting a refund on the wholesale price of the tile from the vendor. The customer DOES NOT MATTER at Floor & Decor, especially if the vendor makes a mistake that they can claim no offense for. Also - the prices aren't that great. Try local stores like Wayne Tile - they have a lot of great locations and way better tile quality. read more

Pretty wonderful flooring selection, but a little overwhelming. The pricing seemed mostly fair and they have a wide array of products to choose from. The staff throughout the store was underwhelming and it took us quite a while to find items we were looking for. The front end staff was really very helpful. At the pickup desk on the back of the store, there needs to be better management of time and staff. The few times I've been there, there is a long line to pickup product and the staff seemed very overwhelmed. I would come here with the intentions that it will take longer than you expect. read more

Please be aware of how far downhill Floor and Decor's customer service has gone down the drain, in my opinion. I have purchased thousands of dollars of tile of the last few years for different projects. Most recently, I bought tile and counted for the usual needed overage for cuts. Full disclosure, I was ill for a period of time and during that time the project ended and I was unable to return the tile. The 90 day return time frame had passed, so I hoped to go to the store and see if they would be able to assist, now that I was able to get out. The first thing I did was to approach a manager/supervisor upon entering the store. I explained my situation, showed the receipt, and had all of the tile neat on a cart. The supervisor asked if I was buying any tile this day, which I was, and she said that she would offer me a gift card as long as I purchased the new tile that day, and used the credit towards that purchase. I found that to be a fair solution to my personalized situation. Now is when the wheels fall off the bus!! I go to look for the tile and due to some confusion on the store's part, I am there for over two hours. They solve the issue and I now have to special order the new tile... no problem. I go to the register with the info.... and when the supervisor goes to do the return and exchange, a red bar come across her register screen, which says denied. I am then told its probably because I return too much or my license is bad (whatever that means), neither being a remote possibility. As you could imagine, this is super embarrassing to be singled out in front of many other customers and was a total waste of my time!!! I am then told they now farm the returns to a third party and start blaming them. A manager comes over, Jack.... who is very nice, and also states that he is totally handcuffed in assisting. I am handed a denial receipt and then told to call the third party (TRE). I am made to leave the store empty handed, I have to reload the tile to bring back home and then unload when I arrive home. A total inconvenience. First thing the next day, I call the company... the call is routed overseas and the person on the other end of the phone seemed not interested in helping in any way. I am told that I have to dispute their denial... and that requires them to send me a form, via email, and that takes up to 24 hours. It has been 36, and no form has been received. The sad part is there is no reason given, no explanation, just a run around of words as to the denial procedure. I called the corporate office and spoke to Alexa (who also was SUPER NICE). She was going to pass my info and situation to some on on the Executive Team... and yes you guessed it.... no return phone call 26 hours later. I believe that Alexa passed the info on.... I guess everyone is too busy to call a customer to see what the issue is. It appears that Floor and Decor, in my opinion, no longer cares about the reality the customers deal with.... just the sale. They tell you to buy extra, buy a bunch of different tiles, just return the rest.... but if you return then maybe next time you can't return the next order. So if you buy items, be prepared to not be able to return them and be stuck with them. At this point...I will need to call the third party back and I am sure I will get some other run around. I am VERY let down with Floor and Decor.... first for making me feel like a petty thief and secondly for just blowing me off..... Nice customer service! Hopefully this review will assist others to go elsewhere and not have to be treated this way. It seems like the employees want to really help and offer great customer service.... but due to a poor corporate decision, they can;t do their job!! The refund process at Floor & Decor is very biased and is inconsistent from store to store, person to person. I can't hate but to think that the denial to offer a store credit at your stores was based on something other than the ambiguous return policy. To the stores in Elizabeth & Wayne, NJ and The Retail Equation (refund verification third-party), you should be closed for a training refresher on how to deal with customers! After speaking with multiple people in your Customer Care dept, at The Retail Equation, your store manager and corporate office, your process for refunds obviously does not work!!!! My time is just as valuable as those manning your stores and the time it took to get this resolved is upsetting, To the big corporate heads, you should never forget the little people that put you there. Create policies that work for everyone, not just corporate. read more

This place has more options than you could ever dream of! In this way, it was helpful for me to pick out what I wanted in advance so when I got to the store I knew more or less what I wanted. The aisles are organized and labeled according to the type of material. Since I knew what I wanted, I didn't really have to interact with employees at all. Check out was fast and easy with no line/wait. This location didn't have everything I needed so I ended up ordering the additional items online for home delivery. All of the tiles I received (ceramic and porcelain) were in excellent condition--no breakage or chips--even the ones ordered for home delivery. In the end, I had about 4 boxes of tile left over after the job so I ended up taking some of it back, but again that was a smooth and quick process. I was in and out of the store in five minutes and received the credit within 2-3 days on my account. Had to take away one star because when I called to find out the return policy no one answered the phone. Overall, I got a pretty good deal in comparison to another tile place in NJ. I'm talking like half price!!! Would definitely recommend and do business with them in the future!! read more

Absolute worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I ordered tile online to pickup, said was in stock. When arrived was told they were 3 boxes short. Ok, it happens right? But here was the follow up, if I want to get 3 boxes sent to my location from another store it would take about 6 weeks! If I wanted them to ship me the 3 boxes I would have to pay ~$150 shipping! To date I have received no email or paperwork regarding the shortage in my order and when I call the customer care line number I was given, nobody picks up, I've tried for 3 days now. Left call back number many times but no returned calls. Bottom line: if you can physically get the tiles you want in the store and they're on the shelf, fine. First of all we were in the store for 15-20 mins waiting and asking for someone to help us.Someone was to call for someone to help us but as we were waiting and browsing for another 10 mins here comes Andre out the gates of heaven. Literally he was God sent. He is the Epitome of what a SA should be. We wanted help but man the help he gave us was beyond our expectations and more. We purchased "Bruce" hard work oak flooring 3 weeks ago. We started installing and found not only that the boards were not "calibrated" meaning that they did not fit seamlessly, leaving large gaps between the planks but that many of the wood panels were scratched. They either repackaged a return or this brand "Bruce" has very low quality manufacturing for both. I've attached the pictures so that you can see for yourself. We thought we were paying for high quality flooring and found very poor quality, not only in the product but in the customer service. The cashiers ignore you and are outright rude. Go to a local mom and pop. This place does not care about their customers. read more

I have to write my second review of this place. I'll start by highly recommending Elisha. She is a service representative who went out of her way to help my wife and I select some shower tile. After she serviced some other customers she actually didn't forget we were there and came back to us. She also checked a couple of times in the warehouse to see if there were enough boxes of a particular set of tile my wife wanted, and, when we discovered there wasn't enough, she was nice enough to recommend a couple of substitutes, one of which my wife took. I have to say that as my second major visit here - I'm redoing my master bathroom again because of shoddy work done by my prior contractors - I am just as impressed and pleased to shop here as I was on my first visit. Highly recommend Floor & Décor to anyone wishing to buy wall and floor tiling, etc. Not only is the selection absolutely huge, but service is impeccable. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE at Wayne, NJ location! 1st and last time I would shop at this place. Loaded cart with laminate flooring and other supplies needed for my project. The molding on the floor was short so I was told to order at front cashier. I was told the system showed they had 36 pieces in stock but they couldn't find it. Then I was told they don't have it and they couldn't obtain from other store locations. Being I can't install flooring without all materials, I had to cancel the purchase I just made and have them issue me a refund. Next day I made phone calls to store and was told to purchase online and they would obtain entire order from other locations if necessary at no additional costs. Purchased online, received confirmation that order was processed and would receive email when ready to p/u that day. Never received phone call or email after 2 days. Made over a dozen attempts to contact store and nobody p/u phone in any dept. Four days later, I made 3 more attempts to contact store and someone in receiving p/u. I explained situation and they said my order is COMPLETE AND READY TO P/U. When I arrived at store, they processed my ID and then told Me they were missing the molding. I was very upset and asked how she could tell me my order was complete when it wasn't and didn't contact me before making another trip to the store! Spoke to 2 managers - never once did they apologize for their actions - nor did they offer any solution or accommodation to obtain the items I paid for. I had them process a refund of my order a 2nd time. read more

The prices here are unbeatable and they have a great selection. This is my second large project shopping here since they opened and will say I have been incredibly disappointed this time around. There used to be enough staff to help on the floor and at check out and this is no longer the case. The staff is very nice and does their best to help but it's clear they're overwhelmed. Not enough staff for the business this store does. For example, today due to system issues and lack of staff I was there for over 2 hours trying to get a simple exchange processed. I am 8 months pregnant and was there with my 3 year old daughter, this is completely unacceptable. I have been there 3 times this week and about 6 additional times over the last 3 months and there is never enough staff and always a long line with people being angry. This is not okay. read more

Renovating our master bathroom and our tile contractor suggested Floor & Decor for a few things we needed. I wish we knew about this place before we started that project! Definitely going here for our next project - main bathroom reno. Want to give a shout out to Ralphy - who went above and beyond to help us out with 37 pencils. We needed marble pencils, as white as possible for our shower niches and transitions. He disappeared and came back in about 10 minutes with everything!!! That was amazing. Today is the second time I went into this location. I went yesterday in the evening and today as soon as they opened at 10. My experience was pretty much the same. I could hardly find anyone to assist me. The people who I did see were walking around as if in their own world. You basically would have to run someone down or send up a smoke signal to get some help. Today I was looking at hardwood floors and there was only one woman in that section helping customers. I was told that the next person would not be there until 12, which is ridiculous with how big the store is. Finally after about 10 minutes or so, she finished with the couple she was helping. She did seem to be very knowledgeable and helpful with picking the flooring. She described the difference between some wood and explained how things like bamboo wood would have to sit for a month before installing because it expands. This was very good to know because I am on a time constraint and definitely do not have a month to wait. Overall though, I think the company might need to higher more associates because no one wants to spend so much time in a store just trying to get help. read more

This location is larger than Paramus so you can usually find what you're looking for--including vanities. YES the customer service does not give you that warm and fuzzy feeling. Some associates seem to actively avoid you, others work at a snail's pace, and a few are completely clueless. However, I wasn't looking for design services or help with picking out tiles, so I was expecting minimal interaction with the staff anyway. I did my research at home and went there to simply pick up what I needed. For this reason, the customer service is adequate. I needed someone to cut the plastic ties around the tile boxes. CHECK. I needed help loading boxes of tiles onto my trolley. CHECK. I needed help loading tiles into my car. CHECK. If you're in need of expert knowledge about tiles, definitely go to a small mom and pop shop because you won't find it here. read more
