The next time I came, my daughter had taken out a piece to inflate my paddleboard, I called James River Canoe Rental, and they remembered me from my previous float trip. They were able to send a friend that has a paddleboard company out to me to give me a hand blowing up my board! No one ever goes out of their way like that!! Our guides were so personable, accommodating,& not overbearing in that "Your a tourist so we have to do the small talk" thing. It was actually cool, like going out to the lake with friends. I originally picked Sup for the Cliff Diving feature, which to me is exactly what is needed during a vacation. My partner wasn't a fan of that idea so we found a more "relaxing" vibe, settling on the Sunset Paddle. Best thing for me is while we did our Sunset paddle our guide suggested doing a cliff jump& I was so excited! It was exactly what I wanted and I valued the suggestion since my partner wasn't interested in it. I was the only person at first who wanted to jump, the guide said he'd jump too. Little by little the whole group, INCLUDING my partner decided to join! It wasn't one of those "Peer Pressure" things. Just good ol' inviting nature coupled with words of encouragement. It was a huge highlight for me. So many options: Cliff Jumping, Sunset paddling, Eco Tours, lounging chairs to relax at the lake in. They pretty much have it all& the cherry on top: PRICE! No price gouging. If you have your own gear it's even cheaper. They sit at $20/Person for the tour when you have your own gear. Small wins in this economy. Yes we could've just went out with our own gear and got to mosey around, but it was so nice to be guided where the sun sets perfectly. It was absolutely perfection. **I wish I had more photos but we had such a good time we hardly took any and our guide took most of them!**

Their business info states to come early for check-in so you can purchase sundries and snacks. Well there were things like chums, there were no snacks nor beverages for purchase. With the heat one would think it wise to offer water to your customers. On our trip the shuttle driver told us where to meet him for the shuttle pickup and about how much time it would take us to get there. There were 12 of us on the van and 10 of us were able to get to the place within 10 minutes arrival of each other. The last couple did not. We waited another 30 minutes in the heat for them to arrive. Although you cannot control for self absorbed people, it might be a good idea to give some instructions on keeping up in the group so that you are not holding everyone up waiting for you (think pace of play or pace of float). I would still recommend Float Eureka as they provided a great experience overall.

The water is cold but it was 100 degrees in mid-august so it was great. The current was not flowing from the dam, so we had to paddle the full distance of 8 miles. This is not a no -issue. It takes a fair amount of effort with no current . But it was epicly beautiful! Well worth the effort. Take food and water. Make sure you have protein. I'd do this again anytime. Justin runs a great operation.

We booked 2 single seater kayaks for the 4-mile adventure on Lake Taneycomo ($39 per person). There is no guide, you go at your own pace but the adventure in its entirety is about 2.5 hours. They will drop you off at one point of the lake and pick you up at a marina located 4 miles from the drop off location. The service includes life vests, the kayak and the paddle, and the shuttle service. We had a great time overall. Our driver and the other guy who helped unload and load the kayaks were great! The first thing you need to know is that the check in is located inside the gas station. We weren't sure who does the checking in part but we asked someone who worked at the gas station and they immediately pointed us to the right person. We enjoyed the lake. I felt tired after, but it was worth the adventure! You get to see some wild life up close and personal and relax as you paddle through the lake.

I got a boat to just cruise around a little and the marina folks were very accommodating. We jointly picked a boat appropriate for me, they gave me a thorough explanation of boat controls and protocols, and pointed out a couple places to see. The pool is heated and right outside the Tiki bar, which was very convenient. There was live entertainment even in the morning and afternoon. The restaurant was closed (late in the season) but they did serve some food in the Tiki. All in all, a very nice stay.

It was easily one of the most unhygienic hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. On top of that, the front desk staff weren't friendly or helpful. We weren't given any information about the property or amenities, and they seemed uninterested in offering any kind of service. The parking lot was mostly closed off due to construction, and we weren't warned about that either, which made getting in and out of the property a hassle. This place advertises itself as a "resort," but charging $600 for this experience is unacceptable. It felt more like a rundown motel than a relaxing getaway. I don't usually write negative reviews, but travelers deserve to know what they're getting into. I would not recommend staying here. Was called by someone who works here saying "we've never had anyone complain of the rooms being gross. And the exterminator came and didn't find anything". And they were throwing it back on me for not calling to complain. Well in my experience, that tub, carpet, couch and roaches aren't going to be cleaned over night. So what exactly could they have done? The cleaners shouldn't have left this room like this.
