The ladies at Bear Creek Trail Rides were incredibly friendly and helpful. The horses are beautiful. The trail was lovely - especially going through the creek a couple times. I would highly recommend a visit! Very affordable as well. They are in high demand, so book ahead. I had tried to book for our family, but they were completely booked. We made our reservations 2 months prior to visiting Branson. I called to confirm our trail ride 2 days prior to our reservation since they do not do anything via email. The morning of I tried to call and I messaged in regards to our 10:00 am ride since rain was to come in at 2:30 in the afternoon. No one answered nor responded to the message/call so we drove 30 minutes to arrive at a closed gate. We waited since we arrived at 9:45 am and we were greeted with a shotgun fired and then a gentleman came out to tell us there were no rides today. No one called to let us know and as of this post, we still haven't received a response. By the way, it was completely sunny, no rain...this is absolutely terrible service. A group of 6 of us went riding this morning because we wanted something that wasn't so 'touristy.' We all really enjoyed the experience. We did the one hour ride. Pros: Easy to get to location. Nice looking rustic facility. Friendly staff. Lots of horses. Well mannered horses. Great for all skill level of riders. One of the best values in the area. Cons: It's a nose to tail trail ride. *but, that's pretty much how all trail rides are these days. We will defiantly do this again on our next visit. read more

Visited Branson this Summer & my daughter & friend wanted to ride horses one day. Was a little apprehensive about this stable after reading some of the reviews but we were pleased. It was very affordable. They have a lot of horses. Seems to be a 3 generation operation with Grandma, Mom & Daughter. The horses seem well taken care off and owners considerate of the heat of the Summer & not overworking the horses. The Grandma carried on good conversation bringing up the end of the group on the ride. The trail as nice. read more

The horses were depressed and miserable the whole ride. The trail was poorly picked and not much fun. On top of all of that the trail guide was rude and standoffish. Overall bad experience was not worth the money and will not be returning. read more

I brought myself with four kids on an hour long horseback ride we were on vacation and looking forward to this experience. When we arrived we were greeted by a not so friendly woman and a misschedule on the staffs part. She never apologized but did manage to get us in. My 6 year old was placed on a horse as large as the rest of us which was harder to control for a child her age even though she has had many horseback lessons. All of the horses were going off the trail slightly or following too closely and the riders were blamed for the mistakes of the horses. The leader of the trail was a young woman late teens or early twenties at most. She did not smile to anyone once before during or after the ride. Was a very unwelcoming personality. She used harsh words towards not only older riders but young ones. When something was pointed out and not fixed immediately she would get visibly frustrated and repeat herself. At one point my 6 year old, was having a little bit of trouble using the reins as the woman had instructed and when she did not immediately fix her mistake she was asked "haven't you ever ridden a horse before?" It made not only my family but everyone in immediate range feel like we weren't able to enjoy our time and it wasn't worth the money. Based off of my experience I would not recommend bringing your family here based off the employees attitude. read more

Beautiful ride, friendly staff, good animals. We went first ride of the day, horses were well cared for and well known by the staff. The ride through the mountains was gorgeous, crossing a wide creek, up and down the mountain and lasted a good hour. We had a lot of fun on the trail rides. My wife had ridden horses a lot growing up but I've only ridden once so I was a bit nervous but it was fun. The trails were nice and going across the river a couple times was really cool. One thing I had an issue with is that there wasn't a lot of instructions as far as what we would be doing or anything. It was just you get on this horse and you're off which was fine just would've appreciated even the guides introducing themselves. read more

This is a very nice place and very nice people. We have ridden several times so not totally newbies. About half way thru the hour ride my daughters horse lost his footing and her saddle slid sideways and she fell off. Thank God she had only scrapes do she got back on but a panic attack set in and she thought she would faint. The guy helped her get off her horse and then helped me get off. Everyone was so nice to her. He called another guide when she said she couldn't get back on and he walked back with us. Everyone was super understanding. We went with 6 people and had a wonderful time! The guides were fantastic and knowledgeable. The horses were well behaved and beautiful. They have two rescue horses. We rode Abby, lefty, pumba, mr. B, Dakota, and Maggie and had no problems. We had two first time riders. Lexi our tour guide made the experience. They also have the sweetest Shepard dog. We went up and down large hills and across streams. I highly recommend this place it was an actual trail ride. read more

For the last decade we have visited Bear creek 6 lor 7 times, but this time was different, the manager of the trail barn was rude condescending and bordered on hateful, the guide was very nice and the trails beautiful, however the ride was ruined before it ever started. I would love to give this more stars because we did enjoy ourselves, no help of our guide. We got there and were greeted by a very nice, friendly women but our guide (maybe her daughter) not so much. She was clearly put out by her job that day. She didn't speak to us at all, not informative at all. The horses were great and seemed to be well taken care of. At the end of our ride my kids, my husband and my self were lined up and I asked if she would take a quick picture of us (because we were there celebrating my 7 Year old daughters birthday) and she said no, she had the next group there. Wow! I was in shock because it would have only taken a minute. The best is that we hung out for about 15 minutes and took pictures outside the fence with the horses in the background (for some proof of the memory) and no "next group" came??? The funny part was when we called that morning, we were told that the tours were one in the morning and one in the afternoon. read more

We planned on horseback riding while on vacation in Branson. I did a lot of internet research and reviewing various locations. I found an internet site that gave prices and age requirements for Bear Creek. Specifically that children ages 2-5 could ride with parents. So on day 3 we got up early, packed up our family of 8 and everyone was excited to go horseback riding. We showed up at Bear Creek only to find out that there are no doubles allowed. We have 2 children under 5. I do understand that it is harder on the horses with double riders but Bear Creek should know what it is advertising. It would have saved me a lot of time and aggravation. I could have planned on just taking the older kids. Poor management will keep me away from this business. The ride might be great, but my family will never know. read more

My husband and I (mid twenties) went with our 11 year old niece. It was glorious! Perfect end of summer weather, full group ride with all ages and skill levels. There were a couple of young kids on the ride and they all seemed to do fine. However the terrain was very rocky and hilly (it also had just rained the night before which contributed to the rough trail). It wasn't the smoothest, easiest ride I've ever been on. But the views were nice and the terrain didn't ruin the experience. There was a group in front of us who lied and said they were fairly experienced riders. They had more spirited horses and not as peaceful a ride. When you book be sure to let them know what kind of a rider you are so they can put you on a horse that is your speed. Our ride was one of the last activities of our week in Branson and it was one of the best hands down! The horses are definitely happy, healthy, and very loving. I would absolutely do it again and knowing what a great time our niece had, we will definitely be back. read more
