They had numerous safety precautions in place and I never felt like it was Willy Nilly flying down the line. They talked ahead of time regarding safety issues before getting started, had multiple clips to double/triple secure and make sure all were safe. They also made it fun. They gave us different challenges along the way, allowing us to push ourselves, so we we're doing more than just flying down a line. I wish I could remember our guides names, but they were super nice and safe. The ziplines were good for a beginner level; we were high, but it wasn't like we were zipping down the side of a mountain or anything. These were high enough to keep the fun there , but also low enough that you may be able to find your cell phone if you drop it on the zipline. Suggestion: have pockets that zip for cell phones, wear a low ponytail, shorts/pants/leggings (not dress) for the harness. This took about 60 minutes in total and was a nice day trip. If you get caught behind Silver Dollar City traffic, pass it up on the right, then pass the park for the zipline. Take a left, do a U Turn, and then go in from that end. You'll save yourself a ton of time in traffic by passing this line and essentially doing a U turn when you pass it. This helped us make our appointment for the zipline. I didn't expect all the traffic.

Great experience. Fun. Quirky staff really know their stuff and make you feel at ease. It's great…read morefun for a family day or time with friends. Highly recommend!

Well, the link does not work, so we arrived 30 mins prior to our reservation as instructed in the instructions. You walk into the nice building and serval workers are there yet no one engages with you to welcome you. Finally you get some one at that counter and tell them you are there to checkin. We are told we are the only party in that reservation slot, we get weighed, and sign the waiver. After you sign the waiver nothing happens. They don't tell you anything you just wait. I did mentioned that we tried to sign them online and another lady says oh yeah that doesn't work and we cannot change the email with the instructions either. Seems odd. Well, after you wait with no communication from the staff eventually Maykala came to say she was going to get us geared up. She took our group started to work with us and then a guide Seth came and told her to take a break. He may have been trying to be funny with some of the things he was saying, however it came off as very rude. Out on the lines we had a good time. The first line we went down everyone in our group was turning around and Seth made a comment to my husband and me that our boys were not holding the brake correctly causing them to turn, well when my husband and I went we both turned. The next line Maykala told us to hold the brake a little different and seemed to make a big difference. The problem was Seth was receiving and he told our one son (who has autism) he was doing it wrong which needless to say upset him since he did exactly what he was just instructed to do. Seth would continue to make comments to our boys that I'm not sure if he thought were funny or what, however again it just came across as rude. After the lines you return to the office. No communication if you are free to go or what. We knew from watching a previous group checkout that they have photos you can buy. So, when I went to buy some drink and the lady asked if I wanted photos I told her no one has talked to us about them however, yes we wanted them. Overall it was a fun time. Maykala was amazing! The rest of the crew in the office and Seth needs to learn about customer service.

Next you watch a video. Then they weigh you and check the height of the children. Weight limit is 300 pounds. They are big on safety-one at a time they seat you in the "coaster"- you are buckled in with 2 safety straps-additional child straps. There are handles to hold to control speed. I am not big on speed and went slow. The coaster climbs through the woods and fake animals are scattered throughout. At the top there is a shed and guide who gives a thumbs up and down the hill you go-tilting slightly at times and circling around. They assist you and unstrap you at the end. A photo is taken 3/4 of the way down-smile and try not to look scared! Summary All the locals recommended this ride as the most scenic and it was! Great fun-even for me who is skiddish about heights and speed. Note-second ride is discounted. Best ride ever! Loved it!!

If we knew how long it was gonna take to get on the coaster we wouldn't have gone that late. I think the people that give you your tickets should say how long of a wait it would be before you actually wait in line. The track was very pretty all lit up, but what I didn't like was it was very fast and around every turn I thought the coaster was gonna fly right off the track. I kept pulling back for the brakes to slow it down a bit but the brakes didn't work at all. My daughter said the same thing. I love coasters, but I just didn't feel safe on this one. Maybe that's just the way mountain coasters are I'm used to amusement park coasters.

It was a seamless process for checking in, purchasing a camera (you cannot bring your own) and going up the tower in the elevator and meeting the staff at the top. The staff explained everything to us and made sure we were safely strapped in. It was a great run and the staff waiting at the bottom made sure you stopped properly and ensured each person quickly leaves to keep the lines moving. I was worried I operated the camera incorrectly so when I checked the video link, I was so happy that despite myself "pausing" the video, it still captured my entire flight. I definitely would return!

After we got called up to the observation deck, it took about 20 minutes to get called to go to the zipline. The guy working was really nice and talked us through everything. The guys at the end of the zipline were really cool too. The ride itself was really fun. It lasted about a minute and you go really fast and the views are really great. Instead of hanging like you would on a traditional zipline, you sit in a big harness, which IMO kind of takes a bit of the fun out of it. It felt a lot less 'dangerous'. But it was fun to try once. Probably wouldn't do it again but would recommend it to others.

On this trip, we purchased our tickets in advance for our 2 sons and 4 friends. She and I had planned on staying up top while the kids played. A recent policy change requires EVERYONE who walks in the door to purchase a general admission pass ($25 + tax or $19.99 during their area appreciation promo). This was not shown on the website. Otherwise, we would have made different plans. Instead, we were required to pay another $48.46 after tax just to hang out while our kids played. I would have no issue with this policy change if we knew about it in advance and could have made an informed decision. Very shady to not advertise this until families are in the building. Edit: when I spoke to a staff member about the policy change during our visit, his reply was that they required everyone to pay as they reduced the price of the "elite seating." He did not listen to me or address my concern at all. Tone deaf response.

There are shows happening all day long, from live music and bluegrass to comedy and saloon-style performances. Depending on the season, there are also special productions throughout the park. It's nice to be able to sit down, take a break, and still feel like you're part of the experience. And since the shows are included with admission, it adds a lot of value to your visit. It's also a great spot if you have younger kids. There is plenty for them to do beyond just rides, including play areas, interactive attractions, and even a train ride. It's not one of those parks where little kids are limited. They can stay busy all day. The whole park has a really cool 1880s theme and is honestly one of the most beautiful theme parks I've been to. Between the shops, craftsmen, and scenery, it feels more like an experience than just rides. That said, be ready for a lot of walking. This park is very hilly and you will feel it by the end of the day. Lines can also get long during busy times. Overall, it's a really unique place with a ton to do for all ages. Between the shows, rides, and kid-friendly activities, you can easily spend a full day here and still not see everything.

Our overall review based on being there 21 Dec, which changed the atmosphere a bit…read more Pros: - Amazing festive lights and decor. - Good food and it wasn't too pricey. There is a mobile ordering option for some places through the app that helped us a lot with the long lines. - Very friendly and helpful employees. - Easy to get to and navigate the park. - Smaller attractions like Grandpa's mansion were fun! - the APP is sooo helpful! - kiddo loved the knife shop and personal rings booth. The proprietors were so nice! - PowderKeg and TimeTraveler rides were awesome. Wish would could have done more than one! Cons: - We went during a weekend when people believed (as advertised) it was the last Rudolph train parade which made it especially chaotic. That was later changed in a way but it made this weekend before Christmas majorly bad. Kiddo was mad about the odd advertising after we heard a shop owner talking about a last minute meeting. - Better locker placement. We based this on Dollywood where there was a locker before each ride but SDC has them in certain "villages" which takes time to navigate. Bc of this we barely used the locker we bought - instead there are cubbies at each ride that work out better. - The kid rides area (Fireman's village or other) is smack in the middle of the route between spaces which made travel from ride to ride difficult. - During Xmas it is hectic, especially the weekend before. The whole operation is overwrought with people and it gets difficult to move, buy food, go on rides (we waited 2 hours for time traveler and saw on the app other rides were just as long). We also waiting 45 minutes for a funnel. - our personal note - we found a decent spot for the parade and got kicked out right before it started, by security. No signage - just you can't be in this open space (it was the mulch around the stage near the big Xmas tree) We left, parade be damned - which was when a lot of people were actually leaving. - outlaw ride was closed one of the biggest nights. - overpriced junk - my kiddo recognized a 'carved bear' from another theme park and when we looked at it close it was made in the Philippines. There are some good options for craftsman here but double check before paying for high priced inports. Key notes: - we knew we would be at the park into the night so we paid the $65 to get awesome parking up front. That turned out to be a great decision because as the masses were leaving we got out in 10 mins. I know that may seem silly but it as a priority for me and I know not everyone. For $20 you can get closer parking. They do have trolleys for free parking and they were running regularly. Make the decision that is best for you! - if they have the time traveler pass available - get it if you can. We spent so much time in line to watch the add on payers jump up and get more out of their time. At this park, there are only so many awesome rides. The limitations on the pass are far exceeded by the wasted time. This is only important if you are here for the rides and not just exploring. Notes: - the ground had paint stamps to help you navigate but they were worn out and made it hard. - there are shops to warm up in but as Colorado people who have seen a thing or two maybe warming stations with heaters or warming barrels like they do at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo would be good. Most people love a good wood fire smell. Overall - plan accordingly. We personally would not recommend the weekend before Xmas (we figured people would be traveling and that was a bad assumption). Know what your interest are - if you want to do shopping then that would be fine. If you want rides, maybe look at different dates you want to go.
