I had wanted to try a float spa for a long time and after researching float spas in San Diego, I decided on Float North County. I booked on-line in advance. The facility is easy to find, located in a corner of a strip mall in Solana Beach, just east of the I-5 off Lomas Santa Fe Dr. I recommend you give it a try! ~Spotlessly clean facility. ~Friendly employee on the desk who was very clear and informative with instructions and tour of the facility. ~Plenty of free parking right outside. ~Check-in and then wait in the waiting room where there are chairs, a water cooler, a salt lamp, tissues, and membership information. Note: Bring your own water if you want some with you in the float room. ~Large quality bath size towel and washcloth provided. I would have liked a hand-towel in addition for my hair. You could always bring your own extra towel. ~There are about 4 float rooms/tanks, plus a couple of infrared saunas. We used the couples float tank which was located in a low-lit closed room which you can lock. There are robes on the back of the door which you can use if you happen to need to go to the restroom in the middle of your float. (Restroom is just down the hall--definitely used it before the float). Also in the room is a bench with hooks for your clothes and bags. There's a basket for your used towels, a trash can for your used ear-plugs and a shelf which has on it a box of tissues, a jar of ear-cleaning buds, packets of earplugs, sachets of petroleum jelly for any cuts you might have, hand sanitizer and vinegar/water solution to help with any salt water that might have seeped into your ears. There is also a shower in the room with nice quality shampoo, conditioner and shower gel for showering before and after your float. ~Malleable ear-plugs provided -- my advice is USE THEM! We didn't use them at first and had to get out of the tank after a few minutes when we found water was getting in our ears. Three days later, our ears were still crackling from the salt water, so we used a 50/50% water and white vinegar solution to relieve it. They do provide a solution of this at the spa, but we didn't use enough. The earplugs also help with the music, which I found too loud. I didn't want to turn the music off completely, but I couldn't seem to turn it down either. ~They also provide a foam 'halo' to rest your head on. I would recommend you use these! Again, we didn't use them at first, but grabbed them after a few minutes. My husband found his neck and shoulders were a little tense throughout the float, but it helped if he put his hands behind his head, 'hammock style'. I put my arms down by my sides. ~It took us about 15 minutes or so to really settle down by the time we got the earplugs, the foam halo and we both got salt in our eyes for which we had to get out and rinse our eyes under the shower. This is all the result of being first-time floaters and we would know better next time! ~Our float tank had a ceiling of twinkly stars and low blue mood lighting which you could turn off. Afterwards the employee told us it's good to try it with the lights and music completely off to really relax the senses. ~When the float is finished (after 75 mins), a gentle 'gong sound' plays. You then exit the tank, shower and get dressed. One note, it's a little hard to dry off as the room is very humid. I would recommend wearing flip-flops and minimal clothing for ease of changing. We wore swimsuits in the float. ~Down the hall is a room you can use afterwards to dry your hair and touch-up make-up, etc. They have a hair dryer and complimentary quality toiletries like hairspray, spray conditioner, etc. There's also a sink, large mirror, a close-up mirror, ear-cleaning buds and combs, etc. It was a very unique experience, that I'm glad we've tried. For us, we both found it difficult relaxing completely, but maybe that's just due to our personalities! I found I couldn't switch off my brain and kept worrying about how long we had left. Maybe a second-time around we would know what to expect and it would be easier to get into. The employee also recommended that instead of a couples tank, a single-person tank is more relaxing. I would also try turning off the lights and music in the future. Either way, the facility was quite busy with patrons coming and going while we were there. They offer memberships and packages with the infrared saunas. I highly recommend you give floating a try at Float North County!

As someone who's floated in many floatation tanks, in many spas, I can happily say that North County Float has been my best experience to date. Tucked away in an outdoor mall (that plays Christmas music in the parking lot), North County Float isn't much to look at from the outside. Once inside the space, it becomes much more inviting. The entry/lobby area is somewhat small (compared to other spas), but cozy, and it begins to set the mood for what you'll find down the main darkened hallway. The lobby is also home to two Clearlight infrared saunas, a great addition to any float spa. The real experience begins once you pass thru the lobby area and into the back hallway. Like most spas, it's a quiet space with gentle music playing, but they take it up a notch with a main hallway that gives you the feel of being underwater. The flowing blues on the walls and doorways starts the relaxing that the float tank will continue. There are several private rooms, each with private rain showers, changing benches, complimentary robes and all the showering necessities. The rooms are bathed in a relaxing blue hue and the floors have just enuf texture to make you feel secure walking in wet, bare feet. The floatation tanks are just that, tanks, not pods like so many other float spas offer. North County gives you a full size cabin-like enclosure with matching lighting to keep the mood consistent. There are simple controls inside each tank space for lights and music if you prefer. There is also an indoor ceiling of twinkling lights, think night sky. You can play your own music as well via the bluetooth controls, but the best way to experience a float is in silence with the lights out and your eyes closed. As your body floats effortlessly in a foot of heavy salted water, you can loose the feeling of even having a body as you drift into higher dimensions. The tank is large enuf for you to stretch out without ever touching the sides, which makes the experience even more surreal. My float started with a 30 minute infrared sauna which warmed me up for 90 minutes in the float tank. Even the gong sound used to let you know your time is up is zen. I left North County Float in a relaxed, super smooth skin, state of bliss. Everything about this spa, from all the employees who helped me, to the vibe they've created to the equipment they use was first class. The only thing I might have changed would be the music played in the parking lot, although I'm pretty sure that didn't come from North County Float. Highly recommended.

The tank provides "sensory deprivation" which, as a trauma survivor, this was the best emotional release for suppressed trauma. I experienced many emotions in the tank but I recommend going with the flow, literally.

I can not say enough how float is more than a float. It brings healing, calm, and clarity. The staff are kind, helpful, and professional. The establishment and baths are clean and they are Covid safe! Each room is a bit different and helps you step into where "you need".

I love this place and the people that work here. My first float was definitely not what I was expecting. For the first time in my life I had nothing to think about. I always feel rejuvenated after I leave. I also came to float after an over extension of my bicep tendon, the next day my pain and symptoms were gone. WOW! I really thank these people for always being able to fit me in since they are so busy. PS. If you do the sauna first then float , the results are even better :) read more

72 hrs ago I just got home from my 4 combat deployment. This one was especially difficult, almost 12 months without a day off. I was working on average 18-20 hrs a day, getting shot at and bombed regularly. When I came in I had a serious case of PTSD, high anxiety, depression, heighten state of alert, insomnia etc... Although I'm not 100% "cured" per say, this was a much appreciated opportunity to defrag the mental software and start the healing process. TY to the staff (shout out to Brian and Glen) for helping a newbie like me. Great environment, super chill I highly recommend for anyone and I will repeat. read more

First timer! It was great! I walked in and was surprised by how comfy and welcoming the lobby is. I then sat down and really enjoyed the guests that came in. Everyone was so friendly. I then got the tour. The guy showed me and another new lady how to use both machines in case we are ever in either one. Which was really cool. Then I floated. Make sure you read the little what to do list by the supplies it tells you exactly what to do. Bring a pair of flip flops you don't mind wearing and getting wet. I'm not a germ person but if you are you will probably want flip flops to shower with. Overall, had an amazing experience and I recommend everyone to do it! Relax and let you body recover! read more

I had my first float tank experience just the other day. I had a great time despite the fact that I am generally not fond of saunas (with high humidity/temperature) or confined quarters. The Deluxe Suite room was spacious enough for two people to comfortably float in. The facility is clean and the water is perfectly regulated so you can truly relax and be one with the environment. I recommend this for anyone who is looking for a therapeutic way of releasing tension. read more

Definitely one of the more interesting things I have done recently, or ever for that matter. Float North County is a Spa/Sensory Deprivation service that promises a unique experience and benefits ranging from healing, relaxation and even meditative and awareness. Wow, with all those things possibly at my disposal, how can I not try it? I scheduled an appointment to be at the very end of my day. 8pm to 930pm. I knew I would be throwing my body through the elements as I hiked all day. The inevitable soreness from the day's hike would be a great test to see if the healing benefits were real and also to compare the meditative claims with the meditative benefits I do hiking for! Alright let's go! Upon arrival Brian helped informed me that I was the only one there for the night so I had the whole place to myself. Not that that would've matter since one would get their own room anyway. In the room is your personal shower, a chair and a door leading to your own private room/tank. Instructions are given on how to shower off and what to do about small cuts and the light control buttons and timing, etc. Anyway, after all that is said and done one strips down, showers off and start your float. I was told that it's up to you whether or not you can leave the ceiling "starlights" or bottom glow lights on or off, or whatever combination you want, as well as any position is ok to try. There's no wrong way to float. Just try and see what works and settle in. I personally used the neck pillow along with a noodle under my knees with all the lights off for the true sensory deprivation experience. In the beginning you're acutely aware that this is just...weird...I had never done anything like this before. Sure, I've soaked in the tub tons of times, but not like this. Once you settle in there is no sight (if you turn off all the lights), no sound, no taste, no scent and most importantly, no touch. The water is set at human temperature and after awhile you won't be able to tell where you end and where the water begins. Trippy. After the initial settling in, I lost track of time and I just let my mind go where it would go. It got to the point where I didn't know if I was asleep or awake. It just all became a blur and all that was there was my thoughts and visualizations. When my time was up they pump in soft music and even though it was subtle, because of the state I was in it was definitely a bit of a jolt! The best analogy I can give you is I completely understand the humans being suspended in their pods by the machines in the Matrix now....you would not be able to tell reality from your mind. The music just happens to be the red pill! So how did it feel afterwards? I mean it didn't magically cure my sore limbs or anything but during the float all that sensation was gone. And I did feel rejuvenated afterwards if anything you're forcing your body and mind to take a break. Not a sit on the couch with the tv on while surfing on your phone "break". A real break. Very interesting experience, I will be trying it again sometime! read more

The owner Glenn was very inviting, and knowledgeable about floating. He had a very calm and relaxed personality which was perfect for the environment. Float north county was very clean, and unique. Definitely catches your attention as you walk or drive by. Loved the modern, open concept. Easy to just sit and relax as you wait for the tanks to filter out. The back room are clean, open and quiet. I loved this place. I highly enjoyed the large ocean room tank with the shower built into the actual room. Definitely coming back for more, and recommend anyone who is trying to unwind and relax to come here. Glenn is great P.s the message chair in the waiting room is AMAZING. As someone who was "floating" for the first time, I was blown away on a number of levels. When I first heard about this, I assumed this would address the aches and pains of lifelong participation in athletics, surfing, and weight training. Floating for 60 minutes did provide an amazing sense of relief in this area. Being essentially weightless provided muscle relaxation and relief to all parts of my body. The other aspect of my experience was in terms of relaxation. Complete silence for 60 minutes provided me with a chance to pause from a busy life and truly relax and be present. It actually took me about an hour after the session to come out of the relaxed state that I was in as a result of 60 minutes of silence and relaxation. This is a good thing, but I would suggest that people plan a relaxing activity after floating. I had never heard of floating prior to this week and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is seeking the unique physical and mental benefits that it provides. read more

I had heard about this place from a friend and decided to give it a try this weekend. I have been through hell with back surgeries. I have to stay away from weights and running, so yoga and meditation have been quite literally a life saver for me. I get a ton of massages and really take care of my body after so many years of abuse. Floating is the absolute PERFECT way to ease the mind into complete and total relaxation. It is a little awkward at first to really understand how this all works, but once you figure it out, it is quite simple.... just get into the tank...close your eyes and let bliss take over. This place is very clean and inviting. Glenn is very hospitable and will help you feel extremely comfortable about everything. i take Epsom salt baths everyday to relieve sore muscles, so this is like taking the ultimate Epsom salt bath. Your skin feels so amazing when its over. I didn't want to have to wash it off, but apparently we would be a salty mess if we don't clean up. I suggest doing as much as possible beforehand to get your mind calmed down. Deep breathing exercise or even a relaxing yoga session. Imagine being in the best SAVASANA ever for one hour, then you know what this is like. My mind races all over the place normally, but this experience completely allowed me to shut everything down and give my body and mind some love. This experience is all about what you make it. if you go into it with high expectations, you may not be thrilled with the results, but if you go in thinking that you are simply breathing, relaxing and meditating for the next hour, you body will love you for it. I purchased the 3 pack for new customers $150 for 3 sessions. When those are up, I will be a monthly member that includes 2 floats a month with a bargain on any floats you do more than the 2. If you are on the fence about trying this, you will not be disappointed. There is no monetary value on health and well being. You deserve this kind of relaxation and trust me, your body and mind will love you for being so good to yourself! I have told everyone i know about this and I was an instant "raving fan" of North County Float! read more

I 100% recommend this experience. I went, intending to deepen my meditation practice, and walked away on a pain-free cloud. After numerous treatments/modalities had failed to achieve any significant relief from osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia, ONE HOUR here gave me unexpected relief and range of motion. My favorite Float Spot in San Diego! Super easy to book with Glenn -- (the owner) who takes such pride and passion in his business. I really appreciate the attention to detail he takes in his space and the quality of the whole experience. * Great location, tons of parking * Fantastic vibe - comfortable couches in the waiting room, powerful electric massage chair while you are waiting, great decor - exposed ceiling, wave feature behind the desk * I was in one of the Float Rooms (versus a pod) - Ive tried both in different places and like them both * Silicon earplugs that don't fall out of your ears when you are floating! * Super clean rooms, just feels good in there Not to mention the benefits of floating in general - I am an acupuncturist and recommend this treatment for my athletes for inflammation, to calm your nervous system for stress, pretty much every human could benefit from 60 minutes of silence. This place has become an oasis for me, the benefits I've received from floating regularly are remarkable... what I experience while inside the tank is an unraveling of tension and habituated patterns in my body and mind. When I leave the tank I feel like I'm floating on Cloud 9~ deeply relaxed yet alert, fluid in my body and my mind creatively stimulated. I find that being suspended in a zero gravity environment with all external stimulus removed allows the inherent intelligence of the body to activate, naturally presenting the priorities and moving to balance and repair as its most needed. If you're considering trying a float, I HIGHLY recommend you go for it~ and that you go for the 3 float package, as it gets deeper every time! read more

I love this place! The owner and staff are so friendly and welcoming. I never thought I'd like floating! Lying in salt water in silence for 90 minutes seemed like torture! But NO! It's wonderful! I have chronic neck pain and floating has significantly reduced it. I feel that it's going to eliminate the pain. It's relaxing beyond belief! I highly recommend it to anyone, even those who are a bit claustrophobic. You will be amazed. read more

We enjoyed a FABULOUS float last night. After a very busy week it was the perfect way to transition for working to vacation. Everything was perfect! It was my best float ever!! (we are only occasional floaters.) I finally have it perfected. Our skin and hair was so soft after floating for an hour. We felt refreshed and de-stressed. I began floating only a few months ago, and I must say it is akin to discovering a subtle, yet profound new dimension. The float experience is truly a holistic phenomenon - working on physical, mental, emotional and (going deeper) spiritual levels, it leaves one feeling calm, centered and profoundly relaxed. I have practiced meditation for a number of years and, while similar, the states of attuned detachment I have reached in the tanks continually astound me. And on occasions in which I simply need to "unwind" - during a period of pronounced life stress or challenge - there is absolutely nothing better. Float North County provides a fantastic experience. Highly knowledgeable and enthusiastic, Glenn, Bryan and the other staff members run a tight (yet so relaxed!) ship. The facilities are immaculately clean and the vibe is simultaneously tranquil and professional. Each tank (and really 'tank' sounds a bit clinical, they're more like futuristic-yet-cozy bathing rooms) provides it's own unique experience - really each float session does - but I wouldn't say there's any kind of hierarchy, as every float I've done there has been wonderful. I would recommend floating to anyone and everyone, and I couldn't imagine a better place to do it than Float North County. In fact, not long after my first session I bought gift certificates for both my wife and mom. It's powerful therapy - I believe that the more people have occasion to regularly float, the better people will treat themselves and others, and the better this world will consequently be. read more

After running the Rock n Roll half marathon, I thought it would be good to float and relax my body. I had no idea the amazing affect a 60 minute float would provide me. Immediately after a long run, I can feel my muscles in my legs, back & shoulders start to tighten and get sore and usually I will feel the effects of my run for the next week or two. However, during my float, my entire body was able to relax, the weightlessness was relieving me of any strain and salt water seem to pull the soreness out of my muscles. The days following my float, my body had little to no soreness at all and was back running that same week. If you are an athlete of any kind or just workout regularly to stay fit, I would highly recommend floating as part of your route!! Thank you so much for bringing Float to North County!!! read more

Did my first FLOAT yesterday. It was a really cool friggin experience and if you like getting massages and you like meditation you'll LOVE this! It's like being in zero gravity. The experience of being weightless! When I was done my body felt completely relaxed. My skin felt great and it's deeply healing because you're laying in a ton of epson salt. Awesome stress relief and mind relaxation for an hour. Allowed me to go deep in meditation. I will be back! You should try it. Check out Float North County. Great service, nice place! Such a great experience! After finishing the Ironman 70.3 Superfrog triathlon in 5.5 hrs (a PR for me), I was exhausted and getting stiff and sore quickly. So I headed right away to Float North County for a float to help with recovery. It works! The float is completely calming; relaxing the muscles and the mind and helps get that lactic acid out of the body to reduce soreness. I know that recovery is huge to getting the most of your training and I would say that doing a float is by far the best form of recovery I have tried. I think that floating should be a regular part of anyone's training / fitness plan, it will certainly be in my plan now. Adding to the experience is the friendliness of the owner, Glenn. He is great, making you feel welcome and comfortable immediately. The decor / ambiance is very well done, giving you a sense of relaxation right when you come through the door. Everything from the lobby to the restroom to the float room to the tank is super clean. read more

My first time in a float tank. It was one hour of pure relaxation. Floating in a tank in total darkness, and being left alone to your thoughts was amazing. My tip: Always think positive thoughts, and all that is good in your life. read more

So, I may not have been carried away atop a Russian Soyuz rocket to break the surly confines of our terrestrial home, but I do feel like I had a celestial, zero G experience. Before stepping into the darkened (for lack of a better term and because I think it sounds cool) chamber, I never would have thought floating in a highly saline environment could be so relaxing. I am a fairly athletic individual and my newest physical obsession is not exactly easy on the body. Having the opportunity to release the pressure that laying on a hard surface would produce and being able to manipulate my joints freely was extremely gratifying. Not to mention the soothing properties of extremely salty water. On the mental side, the "chamber" can be completely blacked out providing a one of a kind, sensory deprived meditation space. For those of you who still fear the monsters under the bed, you can choose to put some very calming lights on. For those of you who wish to try something new, relieve sports injuries, meditate in a calm, peaceful place or just want to see what all the chatter is about, Float is a great place to get a new experience. The staff was incredibly kind, helpful and professional. This was my first experience. I actually felt like I got a chiropractic adjustment as well through the relaxing, my very painful back cracked many many times relieving lots of pain. I was able to meditate and really enjoy this experience. The only thing I wish was different if they had shorter periods available for less. 1.5 is a long time. I think 45 would be perfect and I would come more. But overall excellent experience. read more

I experienced my first float today. I'm still feeling the many wonderful effects. It's hard to describe my experience as it was very profound and moving. If you haven't tried this ... it's a must and you cannot just go one time! The second time I went I was way more relaxed and enjoyed it much more than the first float! I actually fell asleep! I feel like I have just had a massage after I get out! I feel relaxed , calm and rejuvenated! If you are thinking about it ! But the 3 pack and get in! It's amazing ! read more

The staff were super chill (Not surprised bc they get to freaken float for free i assume) but anyways this was my first time float and i had so much expectations going into it. By far probably the most relaxed i ever felt. I actually visualized myself somewhere in an island paradise and was actually hearing crickets. It was pretty cool experience i am definitely going for a second time! read more

Float North County is the premier float studio in San Diego. We are a four (4) tank float center located in Solana Beach. We are known for our big, roomy float tanks as well as a clean and relaxing environment for a calm and relaxing float experience. Floatation therapy (floating in a float tank) naturally increases your endorphin levels, booting your mood and leaving you with a pleasant afterglow that can last for days. History

Established in 2015.

Float North County opened it doors in March of 2015. The founders discovered floating in 2013 and realized quickly that because floating offers so much to so many people that there needed to be a clean, inviting, and comfortable Float Studio in North County, San Diego. We decided to get the best tanks on the market so we bought new large Ocean Float Rooms (7' tall x 8' long x 4.5' wide) and then added two very large Superior float tanks. We knew that people want to have the best float environment free from distractions. People really enjoy our tanks because they are roomy, quiet, sanitary, free from humidity and very comfortable.

You go into an individual pod filled with water super-saturated with epsom salt that's set to a temperature of 95 degrees which is equivalent to human skin temperature. The benefits of using these pods are for relaxation, reduction of pain and inflammation, and stress relief. Once you're in, you basically float in zero gravity. It's hard not to fall asleep because it's so relaxing haha! Customer service was excellent. The young lady helping us was friendly and efficient. It was very easy to book over the phone. You have to call them to get into and out of the parking garage but someone always picked up the phone. The pods were clean and the shower stocked with all essentials including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and towel. Some tips: - come dressed in casual clothes and sandals so you can use in the shower and in and out of the pod - bring a brush to comb your hair after (they have a hair dryer there) - put in the moldable plugs before you go into the shower and pod to ensure they are tightly in Would definitely recommend everyone experience this at least once! I got into my float tank and something felt off. I got out mid-session and started looking around. What I found and documented with approximately 40 photographs was one of the most unsanitary commercial facilities I have ever seen in my life. There was visible black mold growing inside the float tank itself. On the lid seam. On the interior walls. On the door seal. This is the enclosed space that customers pay to lie inside and breathe recycled air for up to 90 minutes. The shower rooms had black mold covering the grout on every wall, every floor, and every corner. The ceiling panels had rust bleeding through them. The HVAC vent had visible mold and rust buildup on the filter screen, which means contaminated air is being actively circulated to every room in the building. The walls had paint blistering and bubbling off, which is what happens when moisture and mold are growing behind the wall surface, not just on it. When I contacted the business and requested a refund, they told me that what I photographed was not mold and was not dangerous. They refused to issue a refund. I have filed a formal complaint with the San Diego County Department of Environmental Health requesting an immediate inspection and suspension of operations until professional mold remediation is completed and the facility passes reinspection. I have also disputed the charge with my bank.

We opted for a 50 minute session and it was perfect for the both of us. For two people, including tax and tip it came out to about $117. Highly recommend this place!! I look forward to coming back whenever I'm in town!

She was very friendly and took the time to clearly explain how to use the pod, which I appreciated. However, once I stepped inside, I noticed the bottom of the pod felt slimy. I tried to ignore it and continue with the session, but after closing the lid and looking around, I saw hair from other clients floating in the water along with various other particles. I'm not sure exactly what everything was, but it made it impossible for me to relax. Knowing I was floating in water that appeared unclean made me extremely uncomfortable, and I ended up getting out of the pod early. I was told the filters run frequently, but based on what I observed, I found it hard to believe they are working properly. Given this experience, I would not feel comfortable returning to use the pods again.

No surprises here - I agree with all of the other reviews on Float North County. Great facility, great management, great vibes. My experience was so positive that it caused me to sign up and submit my first Yelp review. I must caveat that this was only my second float, so I am certainly not a seasoned veteran, but my experience at Float North County was a big step up in comparison to my visit to another company in the Mira Mesa area. That trip to Mira Mesa, my first float, included a facility long overdue for a facelift and poor directions from the staff, so I was left wondering what to expect - including whether or not I would be signaled with music at the end of the session or whether or not the lighting for the room was hooked up to motion sensors. Float North County was a major upgrade: Glenn was extremely welcoming, provided comprehensive instructions, and answered all of my questions, all of which resulted in an enjoyable and relaxing experience. I certainly recommend the Ocean Room Tank. The size of the tank is likely less intimidating for newcomers and the room provides the user with everything they need. I walked out feeling rejuvenated and clear-headed and I look forward to my next experience. I plan to be back in the next few weeks to introduce a first-timer friend to the experience. read more

Float NC is an absolute gem if you are looking for gentle relaxation, mindful meditation, or in my case, relief from a severe injury. I look forward to 90 minutes of a pain free existence where I can withdraw into myself. It is here that I realized there was an eventual end to the lower back and leg pain that was plaguing me. The personal attention given by Glenn and Angelo was nothing less than top notch and genuine. I look forward to floating again..... I had heard so much about this place over the years, and was referred by a local Chiropractor. Well, I must say that I wish I had gone sooner. The place is clean and hospitable, and all inclusive. Just show up and set yourself free. I was skeptical concerning claustrophobia, yet within the first 10 minutes, that issue has fleeted and I was in the zone. I actually have fallen asleep while floating. (This is totally safe) . My experience over this last few months has done wonders for my condition, and I look forward to continuing my visits regularly. BTW.... Organic products in the private rooms. No detail goes unnoticed. next time I would like to try the Infrared spa. ACES! Floating was new to me and I could not have chosen a better place to experience the healing benefits of losing myself in pure epsom salts. Glenn is very helpful in explaining. I started in the Ocean Room and was happy to control the lights and have overhead space. As the floats continued, I found the eurphoria of being in the dark. Eventually, I tried the pod. Now I'm a true floater :) Glen suggested I try infrared sauna before floating, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Benefits for me have been: pain relief from aching muscles and joints (from Ashtanga yoga) as the epsom salts (magnesium) draw out the lactic acid, and stress relief. Floating is my new goto instead of professional massage or chiropractic. Now that I have moved away from the area, I've tried other float tanks. Float North County is a special place, more like a spa. I'll book a session every time I'm back for sure! read more

Floating at Float North County Spa is honestly the best high I have every known. Each floating experience is different and the more you do it, the more you "get it". My progress went from Floating 101a - The benefits of soaking in high concentrations of Epsom Salt... Nothing short of miraculous in how my body has healed and relieved me from aches, pains, and holding on to stress in my body. to Floating 401b - Deep Meditation and Spiritual Connection with your truth. The more you meditate the better and deeper your experience gets. Floating has taken me to the deep Theta state of meditation. What would have taken me years of dedicated practice to achieve, I have been able to achieve within a half dozen float sessions. Needless to say I am hooked...addicted! I floated once before years ago, but it was in a much smaller tank. At Float North County the tanks are much bigger which makes it easier to relax and not worry that you will hit the wall if you move. Bryan at the front desk was very informational and passionate about his work. He takes his time to explain everything to you and share advice and techniques that he or others have found helpful. If you are a first time floater and are not sure what it will be like, just give it a try. It is different for everyone, but is always a relaxing and meditative experience...at least for me. read more

If you have never tried this you absolutely should. I have a bulging disc with nerve damage. Floating takes away all he pain, especially if you go for 90 min sessions. Glen and Brian are great. This beats any massage. You come out like you've just went on the Most relaxing retreat ever. Without saying too much to ruin the experience just try. I've brought half of my family there already and everyone loved it. read more
