We have been coming here for years because I really liked the BBQ chicken pizza, but it seemed to have changed over recent months. I was thinking "I don't think they are adding the fresh cilantro anymore, even though it is still listed in the ingredients." There are NOT many ingredients on this pie, so even one thing makes a big difference. Anyway, I am sad that I have to demote them with a lower rating because of this little thing, but I believe things you make an effort to buy repeatedly (this is my 20th pie there, probably), should taste great every time. -- Update - Jason did get back to me and offer me a free pie because of this problem, which is more than fair. We got the Garlic knots which were just okay, I've had better! Also it looks nothing like it on their website as well, But it's def something to try. We also had gotten a slice of cheese pizza which my friend didn't like so much and I got a veggie pizza which I thought was okay! The staffs here were nice! But over all so far this place seems basic to me. Nothing special. This is my boyfriends got to work lunch spot and i came to try it with him this week for the first time. And wow this place has the perfect thin crispy crust but still soft and fluffy around the edges. He literally eats here three times a week and now i know why! Great lunch specials for 1 or 2 slices with soda or beer. They also rotate kegs pretty frequently to kept it fresh. The pizza has lots of toppings and good amount of cheese to sauce ratio. Sauce is also great flavorful enough to complement the toppings but not overpower the rest of the flavors. The white stone was delicious with ricotta and the brooklyn was more of a classic pizza that hit the spot! read more

Pizza was made in the correct time frame and ready to pick up. I like that there are multiple options for small salad because everyone in my family has a different favorite. 1000 reviews in and I figured number 1000 would be about pizza. Flippin' Pizza is the sister store of Knockout Pizza in Carlsbad. And in my honest opinion, it puts out a better slice than their older sibling. I tried the cheese slice and white pizza. The cheese slice was perfectly crispy, perfectly hot, and perfectly flavored. The white pizza was topped with 3 cheeses and basil. You won't find any tomato sauce on this slice but you will find tons of flavor. The crunch and crust were outstanding as well. I wasn't hungry so my opinion was not swayed by it. I was actually on the cusp of being full as I had visited a pizza place less than an hour before. But I couldn't pass it up, especially when my GF reminded me that it was the sister store of Knockout. As of today, this is the best slice of pizza I've had in California. The best. So why not 5-stars? Because they can't beat Pizza Town (Elmwood Park, NJ) in quality or ambiance. And they can't beat Turtle's Pizza (Hackensack, NJ) on price. Let me blow your mind for a second...at Turtle's Pizza you can get 2 cheese slices and a soda for LESS THAN 3 DOLLARS!!!! There are a number of Flippin' Pizzas up and down the coast, all of them very good. It was this place, about 10+ years ago, that helped me start moving away from the west coast style of pizza; you know, the same crap that Domino's and Papa John's shills out. I had had New York Style before, those huge and foldable slices, but never in my home town. It was a nice wake up call that there was more to pizza than just what could be delivered in 30 minutes or less. Anyway, I've had it all over here, from the Garlic Knots, to the Brooklyn, to the Buffalo Chicken, to my favorite, the Whitestone. It's all very good and fairly massive as each pizza is over a foot and a half in diameter. They partially cook their pies, finishing them to order, and it all works well with the ingredients they use. Seriously, tasty and quality pizza. Great place all around. About my only qualm would be that the price on the 2 slice and a drink deal seems to keep going up every now and then. It always seemed like a great lunch at $6.00. Here's an update: The manager called me after my review was posted. She was kind, considerate, and understanding, and offered me a free pizza. So, I took her up on that offer and ordered a pizza for delivery a couple weeks later. I was promptly told that I needed to order something else in order to get delivery because "I just can't do a delivery when it says $0." Ok, fine. I ordered garlic knots to go with the pizza. Last time I got 5 out of 6 knots and no marinara sauce so I was crossing my fingers I'd get it all this time around. Delivery took an hour and a half just like they said it would. Hooray, 6 out of 6 knots AND marinara sauce! Too bad the pizza and the knots were all undercooked. We're so sad to now have to change pizza places. It's $8, $1 more than just the slices would have cost on their own. I tried checking in on Yelp for the promo for free garlic knots but kept getting an error. I found them to be very bland so it wasn't surprising when the 2 yr old liked them. My hubs and I used to enjoy coming here for their 2 slices and a drink deal but after tonight we wont be back. The slices have gotten way smaller than they used to be and are now the same size, if not smaller, than a large slice from Pizza Hut; except with their thin crust and sparse toppings it is even less food per slice. My 2 yr old who doesn't eat much ate an entire slice and was still hungry. They only have one of those digital fountain drink machines that only had Coca Cola products. No more root beer or iced tea options. Really only have plain water available if your looking for an option with no sweetner/sugar or uncarbonated. I asked if they had ice tea or anything unsweetened and uncarbonated and when they told me no I ended up just setting my cup down on the counter and leaving without a drink even though I had paid for it. Bottom line, very dissatisfied. Over paid, even tipped, for bland pizza and ended up still hungry and having to find something to cook at home.
