Open daily at 11 am and operated by the owner who greeted us with a smile and apologized for the wait (a family had just arrived before us). We ordered the Lil Cheezy for our grandson; at $4 was reasonably priced. Hubby and I both ordered The Sunshine with Colby Jack, avocado, and tomato. Very cheesy but the avocado spread was lost in the cheese; IMO needed more but the sandwich was very generous in size and filling. There is a cooler with bottle and canned drinks but since we took our sandwiches home to eat, we didn't get drinks. Great choice for our cheese loving Grandson!

Had to go back and purchase a T-shirt for my 13-year-old granddaughter who is vegetarian. It was a hit and she wore it to school the next day.

Brick Street Café is easy to find. It's nestled inside of the Fareway store. Just to the left as you enter. Parking is normal for a grocery store. So no issues there... They also offer a drive-through. It's seat yourself. The seating is a combination of low top tables and chairs and booths. There are a few counter seats as well. The menu is surprisingly large. I know they won Iowa's best tenderloin in 2014...and I hadn't been here yet.... That made my decision on what to order really easy. I upgraded to a premium side of fried mushrooms. For a drink, I went with the unsweetened iced tea. Staci was my server and she did phenomenal. I had a short wait for my food. It came to the table, piping hot. Much to my chagrin there was lettuce and tomato on my tenderloin... But like any good GenXer I fixed it myself and didn't say a word. It's definitely a quality tenderloin. Nice and thick. But not too thick. A very consistent breading. They did a nice job tenderizing it. There were no tough spots at all and it just kind of breaks away when you take a bite. The mushrooms were obviously fresh out of the fryer. I've got the second-degree burns to prove it. Lol I'm okay with that because I sure don't want them cold. Everything was cooked perfectly. Service was wonderful. It's order and pay with your server at the table. I'd put the tenderloin on par with the one at the Dexfield Diner or B&B. https://www.facebook.com/share/18oQ84LDNk/?mibextid=wwXIfr https://thebrickstreetcafe.com/

HomeGrown Hit the Spot…read more We stopped at HomeGrown for brunch after a Friday morning ER visit, and it ended up being a really nice way to reset the day. I had the Salsa Verde Pork & Egg with a pancake on the side, and Kim had the seasonal Limoncello French Toast. We both had caramel lattes, and everything was excellent. The place was moderately busy, but service was friendly and excellent. It has a bright, cheerful feel inside, and the outdoor seating looked really inviting too -- I just wasn't dressed for hot weather that morning. Prices felt reasonable for the quality, and the menu has a fun mix of breakfast and lunch options with seasonal specials thrown in. Good food, good lattes, great service, and a really nice atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

Started with the sunrise juice, a carrot juice blend and the homemade strawberry lemonade both were so fresh and delicious. We tried the brown sugar and cinnamon pop tart and that was heaven in my mouth. So much flavor and goodness. I ordered the limoncello French toast and it is a slice of fresh baked lemon bread made into French toast. The flavors were rich and the texture was fluffy. A must try while it's in season. Others got the turkey and avocado Benedict and the pancakes with eggs and bacon. All cooked to perfection. Our server Jess was so nice and we did tip her well for being so last minute, but to our credit we were out of there at 6 mins after closing while everyone was still working to close up. I try to not show up late but this one was so worth it!!
