It is run like an assembly line and yes, you will spend the majority of your time in the waiting room. Once you actually get into procedure room you will be even more disappointed. It is a room filled with people on cots with very little privacy. After the procedure they will push you out the door in a wheelchair for your safety and then you will need to come back in 90 minutes to get your pressure checked. (they have people waiting for your cot) I was quoted that my share of this would amount to roughly $8k after insurance. I have now paid over $13k after insurance, and they say I owe another $600. There are charges that they don't bill insurance, so they don't count towards your deductible or your out-of-pocket max, they should make that very clear and add that amount to your quote. Had I realized how much I would be paying after insurance I would have looked at other options. Do your homework and look into other providers, or you will have buyer's remorse like I do.

After having this catarac syrgery done I feel like a fifth grader that can see again when I got my first glasses. It is so cool to not have to reach for my glasses in the morning. During appt she told me I was addicted to my anxiety medication-- in front of my 8 year old. (Ridiculous considering I have a psychiatrist who was helping me to go off of said anxiety medication bc I didn't want to be on it. Mental health is also far out of her realm of expertise) she Blamed symptoms on depression/anxiety or claimed they were "normal" A different doctor found I had hormonal imbalances, low cortisol, low vitamin D, IBS amongst other things. I also saw her for knee pain due to getting hit by a car as a kid and causing me to not be able to go running/jogging. I asked if she had natural suggestions bc the last thing I wanted was to be on PKs and she asked in an accusatory way what I meant by "herbal". Implied herbal things don't work and didn't suggest anything herbal or medical. Told me I could have endometriosis but they wouldn't know unless they cut me open I was referred to multiple specialists to treat a common issue for two years. As a nursing student, we even know NEVER to use that kind of language with a patient!!!! My parents were both outraged and took me to see a different doctor. Dr. Dzwonkowski took the time to sit down with me and ask me all types of questions and decided that in fact, I did have asthma. I am now on an inhaler that I take twice a day and I no longer have my breathing problem. DO NOT GO TO DR. GALLAGHER!!!!
