If you like decks, beer and bar food -- go to Flinchy's. If not, don't make the mistake I made by going for dinner with my mom last week. I suppose I should have known that any place that has a "Train Wreck Deck" would not be a culinary adventure worth writing home about, but hey, it can't be THAT bad. That is my mistake. Let's just get the bad out of the way first: 1. The service -- it was standard and friendly. BUT... when my mom asked how a chicken dish was, the server said -- "well, we haven't had anyone complain about it." The record might have just come to a screeching halt when she said that. What? That's how you sell your food to guests? Then, as I tried to ask her a question, she impatiently said to wait, she wasn't done asking my mom about sides. By that time, I didn't even care, I just ordered my food and that was that. 2. The food. Whoa. You're gonna charge me $20 bucks for THAT piece of chicken? With a tasteless side of penne with red sauce? Thanks but no thanks. I could have gone down the street to the Pizza Grille for a $12 chicken dish with WAY more flavor and 100x healthier. My mistake. Again, should have opted for bar food, especially when a menu is THAT expansive. I come from the school of thought of: "do a few things well... not do a bunch of mediocre dishes". My mom felt the same. 3. The bill.... $70 dollars for a subpar dinner felt like a slap in the face. Again, next time do not order wine, order a burger and a beer and I'm sure it'll be fine. The good --- well. I bet that deck is fun in the summer. And our server was pleasant, attentive and despite the lackluster selling points for menu items, she got it done. At any rate, follow my guidelines and I'm sure you're enjoy your experience. Anything else -- you're better off going up the road to the Pizza Grill for something fresh and delicious! read more

Just went tonight and it was amazing! The salmon meal was delicious! We will be back soon:) our server was very nice and didn't even have to write our order down, she remembered it which I know is hard lol read more

Best 8 oz filet at the best price in central PA! And I always order the filet with their "Hot Rock" - so I can cook it to perfection right in front of me! Their Maryland Crab Pasta rocks, too !! Tell Matt I sent you! read more

I like Flinchy's because of their great outdoor deck, it's perfect for warm weather. The food was pretty average in my opinion, but the service was good. It must have been crab night when we were there because everyone was wearing bibs and hammering away. They do have specials for every night of the week which you can find on their website. read more

Someone recommended this place as a caterer for our daughter's wedding, so we went to dinner here on a Saturday summer night. The place was busy and it was extremely hot inside - the decor looked great but it was just too warm. Would have gone to the deck but it was packed with people. However, the food was delicious!! Our party of six ordered a variety of entrees and we were all happy. I got the Hot Rock meal which was fun and flavorful. We decided to use them as the caterer to the wedding, and they did not disappoint. Not only were they easy to work with and very accommodating, but the food at the wedding was outstanding!! I wished I had had more time to go back for more! Lol. read more

My family and I ate dinner here last night. Friendly staff and the food was pretty awesome however the service was very slow!

They started off a little rough, me and my wife waited for about 20 minutes before we had a waitress come help us. But after that we had an excellent meal, price was appropriate for the quality. I enjoyed trying the Hot Rock menu but will opt for something different next time. It made dinner enjoyable but somewhat tricky to talk to my wife while we ate. I will return, the food was amazing read more

I understand a lot of reviews have mentioned the steep prices, but my husband & I ALWAYS order the same thing (potato skins appetizer, baked spaghetti for me and a French dip for him) and it's under $30 including the tip. If you don't want to pay the hefty prices, order one of the specials (like $10 for baked spaghetti, salad & bread) or get a sandwich. I've never had any problems with the service although the bar tends to crowd quickly and that's where you pick up to go orders. But I've even had the owner approach our table multiple times. Granted, if you order seafood on the hot rock you're going to pay more. It's seafood. But it isn't a fancy restaurant. The banner that reads "probably the best food in town" should be a hint that you aren't dining at a 5 star bistro. It's a bar. They have amazing bar food. Use your brain, people. read more

OMG THIS PLACE FOOD IS INCREDIBLE my wife took me here and am shocked the crab cakes lobster Mac n cheese cheesesteak fries and cheese quesadilla were all wonderful read more

Amazing! I knew this place would be good based on reviews and it always seems to be packed, but I didn't know it would be this good! We started with the seafood fondue which was to die for!! Then I got the sirloin on the hot rock, with a caprese salad and Mac and cheese, it was delicious!! I was skeptical about cooking my own steak on a hot rock, but it cooked very fast and it was a new experience! There wasn't anything about this place that my family and I didn't like, our waitress was even very attentive! We will be returning! read more

My wife and I stopped for lunch at Flinchy's on Friday the 13th,and it was a truly bad luck experience . We ordered appetizers, peel and eat shrimp and a cup of soup. For lunch we ordered a pizza. I don't understand why restaurants feel they have to bring all your food out at the same time. An appetizer should come out before the main course. But I guess the wait staff at Flinchy's and a lot of other restaurants have never been told to space out the food. So the appetizers and the pizza were brought to the table at the same time. By the time we were finished with our apps the pizza was cold. I just don't understand. So I'll give them one star. read more

The food is excellent, the beer is cold! The service is great! I would be delighted to watch Fox News any chance I get even during personal time. Great deck and I will always support a MAGA restaurant!! read more

I liked Flinchy's for the "tavern" environment. I went for lunch with my family during late Fall, so it was a little too chilly to eat outside or enjoy dining on the deck. The food was delicious, portion-perfect, but the place was very busy. Unfortunately there was only one server, so it took a while to be seated and served. The server was very friendly and didn't show the stress at all. read more

The best gluten free menu in area .service is excellent and food delicious .definitely will be back here again . The gluten free pesto past is to die for and also fish and chips ..omg love love love the place read more

The atmosphere looks nice but there was an awkward smell that we questioned upon arrival. We were going to take a booth in the back but it was covered with flys. We changed tables but there were a ton of flys that were landing on us the entire meal. It was gross. To order a steak for $30 there should not be flys crawling all over you. When we asked the waitress if there was a fly swatter she said, "We have one somewhere". But did not get it or try to eliminate the flys. Order came out wrong, but overall the group enjoyed the food (order came out wrong but the waitress had it corrected) just not the dining with flys experience. read more

You won't find a better steak anywhere. The absolute best menu in Central PA. Great staff. Great atmosphere. Great live music.

Anything on the menu is outstanding, but treat yourself and get the Hot Rock. Bartenders are some of the best in the area and the owners, Matt and Dawson are two of the most friendly and down to earth guys. If you're looking for a great outside deck with live music, go here any Thursday-Sunday night. Once the weather gets nice, it's definitely the deck bar to be at. Inside dining room and bar was just remodeled and looks amazing. Check it out, you'll be back! read more

Two words-hot rock. Don't miss out on that unique dining experiences that is tastier than you can imagine. Highly recommend getting the filet mignon hot rock. In the summer time, the deck is the place to be! Somewhat kid friendly before 8 pm. read more

Doesn't care about their patrons' welfare. Stayed open during the pandemic shutdown and fighting public health advisors every step of the way. Now that they can be reopened, they are packing them in with a fully-sided tent for outdoor dining. Totally unsafe. Will NEVER return. read more

Had lunch here today and not sure if I will ever return. We were sitting at the bar, and someone on the table side had a hot rock something or other for lunch and the whole place filled up with smoke. I'm thinking that the exhaust system wasn't working at all. As I write this, I'm sitting in my office with my hair and clothing reeking of restaurant smokey food smell. Yuck. read more

Consistently good food. Consistently slow service. We primarily go to Flinchy's for lunch. As long as you have at least 90 minutes I highly recommend. Keep looking if you're in a hurry. The homemade potato chips are really good-seasoned with an Old Bay type spice. Burgers are well seasoned. Pizzas are also good-nice thin and crispy crust and tasty toppings. Sandwiches are made with artisan breads. read more

It's unfortunate because I've had so many good experiences here but the one bad time has ruined it for me. My mother and I both ordered a grilled salad (grilled head of lettuce) and both came out with huge amounts of dirt on the lettuce. (I'm talking grainy brown all over.) My mother flipped her lettuce over and saw dead bugs in it. I understand that lettuce can be difficult to wash but bugs and dirt on both of our salads is unacceptable.... I gave two stars because the ambiance is lovely and the server was very apologetic. Still, I'll never go back read more

Awful. simply awful. I was sucked in by a discount card. The atmosphere was deplorable. The service absent. But special attention must go to the food quality. OMG. High price yet low quality. Locals...trust me...Go to the Brewhouse Grill a few hundreds yards up the street. It is ten times better in every possible way. Never never again for this hunkajunk called Flinchys. Made me flinch once. but never twice. read more

Swung in for their crab legs and clam special listed here on Yelp. It took them about 20 minutes between bundles to have them delivered to our table. When we did get the food, the clams and legs were average. Nothing awesome about them, but it wasn't exactly the season for them either. There were not that many people in the building so maybe they were just keeping things slow to try and get people to eat less. Our server was apologetic that she couldn't do anything about us not able to get our food quicker so she at least kept the water filled. We noticed that there was a sign on the wall while we entered that advertised the fact that they were part of restaurant.com and found it funny that most of the people here have had nothing but problems when they try to use their certificates. I suppose if we decide to come back we'll order something cheap instead. read more

I was happy to hear about Flinchy's new remodel, (it was desperately needed) and decided to try the restaurant for a second time. The positives: The inside looked good and the people were all nice. But the negatives ...... First, the beer didn't taste right, watery and flat, even though I tried two different kinds (ones that I usually drink so I'm intimately familiar with how they taste ). Second, when someone ordered the hot rocks at a different table, the whole area would become smoky and when three tables ordered them, well, I could hardly see. It was like being at a barbecue right beside the grill. Third, and most important (or maybe not, if you love beer), the food was awful. This is my first review, and I wanted it to be a positive one but there was nothing positive about my meal. I ordered the Beet Burger. I love beets. But there were no beets and no sauce as specified on the menu. Now, I realize that a veggie burger probably isn't going to be delicious - but I just had one two days ago that had been in my freezer over six months and it tasted way better. Very disappointed. read more

This place is consistent as hell! They suck every single time we go in, literally every time we go in to "give them another chance" it's the same thing. Bad service that makes you seem like you're asking A LOT, very basic dishes that are expensive considering the line cook who's making $11 is putting it together. Even though they remodeled, it is the same garbage service, they can't even act like they want a tip or to serve you. This place is trash. read more

Never been here before, and I wanted to take my 16 year old somewhere different for a late lunch. We decided to sit on the deck, but the chairs were wet, since it had rained. We went inside, and a very sweet waitress said we could sit outside & she'd be happy to wipe the tables and chairs down. I liked her willingness to please, but after hitting the Arctic A/C inside, we decided to stay in. Our waitress was fantastic throughout the entire visit. Another lady came over and said that our original waitress had to leave, but she'd take care of us, and she did! We ordered the spinach artichoke dip and each of us ordered a burger. The dip came quickly and it was amazing! It was served with these little crispy triangles of heaven, and I'm not sure I could have stopped eating them, but I had to share with my son. Our burgers weren't extraordinary. I got a bison burger with cheddar, and it tasted like any other run of the mill hamburger. My son said the same about his burger. Oh don't get me wrong, it was great tasting, good portion, and presented nicely with our fries, but there was nothing to write home about. I'd definitely go back to Flinchys, but I probably wouldn't order any of the hamburgers again, just because there wasn't really anything wonderfully unique about them. I've heard great things about the food, though, so based.on the burger being satisfactory, and the appetizer being scrumptious, I'd definitely eat there again. It was a little dark, but it's a sports bar, so that was expected. read more

Love this place. Hate this place. Atmosphere and food is great. Service is HORRIBLE. Am sitting here writing this as I've been waiting 20 min... For just my check. I can't even write about the quality of the food, I'm so annoyed about waiting 15 min between rounds of ayce crab legs and 20 min to get the check. Ugh. Not the first time for this either. read more

We were looking for a new place to try. We invest in the local bonus book and we're set to use the coupon. The coupon read buy one get one free up to a $10 value. Nothing on the dinner menu was $15 or less, so this does not constitute a BOGO. We asked if we could use it for the burgers and we're denied. The food was okay, but the fact that the coupon was a waste is wrong. When we arrived, We sat there for about 20 minutes before anyone even stopped by to get drinks. The busser was set to give us better service than our waitress. We were not impressed. We probably won't be back. I was surprised the owner never stopped by the table even though he was asked about the coupon. Lets see if this review gets any response. read more

I've been here a handful of times & haven't ever been blown away. Their hot rock is pretty good but it's expensive. The last time I was there, there was an issue with the quality of the food (mold). I would expect that if unsuitable food was served to a customer, the manager on duty would at least come out to speak with the table. Nope. The waitress returned, & offered to remake it & take it off the bill (Gee, wow). She didn't seem nearly as embarrassed or concerned as you would expect having just served it. Pretty sure I'll never eat here again. read more

We went for a late lunch because it had a decent rating on Yelp and we were looking for a new place to explore. The location and building are odd...maybe the ceiling is too low??! It was winter so no one on the deck, but the bar area was packed for Sunday football. The crowd was loud, but not bad for what the place was...a dive neighbor bar and restaurant. We shared a Buffalo Fries appetizer which was one of the best that I've had! I would actually return to Flinchy's just for another order! Great Texas Pete Hot Sauce and the right amount of salt with blue cheese dressing...excellent! I ordered a Simply Turkey Wrap and my date ordered a Philly Cheese Steak...both were tasty. The biggest complaint would be the waitress staff. I'm going to blame it on the fact we came in around 3:30 which is an odd time for a meal, but there seem to be 2 women working the tables, not sure. One woman had her husband and baby in a booth, so she spent a lot of time with them and the other woman was in another booth reading her book. We weren't sure if we should order at the bar or if we should interrupt the 2 waitresses during their "break time". We would go back again, but maybe at normal meal hours. read more

We stopped in for dinner it was a full house the day after Christmas our waitress liz was the best waitress we have had in a very long time we never had an empty glass and she was running around to all the tables being she was the onlyone waiting the whole dinning room i dont think the expected this many people coming out on a monday after Christmas the food is great and we would highly recommend this establishment to anyone and will definitely be back read more

I paid $80 to validate never going here again! Where do I begin? We went Monday night. The menu says that on Monday there is all you can eat pasta. Our server told us that special was no longer valid. The menu says that bottles of wine are half off. That special is no longer valid. The menu also had the happy hour times wrong. And by the way, even if you order beer during happy hour, like we did, it gets charged whatever the computer charges...regardless of the time. Oh, and the clock on the computer is fast, so everyone pays regular price early. Our server told us that piece of info when we got the bill and the drinks were not priced appropriately. we ordered our drinks15 minutes before happy hour ended. We ordered the portobello mushroom appetizer. The middle was still cold/frozen. My husband ordered prime rib (which we were told was leftover from the weekend) and it was overcooked. I ordered the "make your own pasta." I paid $4 to add shrimp to my pasta dish. I got 3 shrimp. When we complained about the food, the server said Craig has been cooking for years, so nothing could be done. What??? This was our fourth time to Flinchy's. The second time we had a ok/good experience so I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. I've had bad experiences on the deck and inside and there are always excuses. Good luck even getting greeted at the door within 5 minutes! Never again. I should know better than to eat at a place that has a board to advertise apartment rentals and roommates wanted flyers at the front door. read more
