Whoever bakes the spinach and blueberry pastries here is super talented, and the counter staff is really nice. Gothic Chai (a.k.a. dirty chai) was good and strong, too. The quiche! OMG the quiche! I stopped in here on the way to Acadia. I picked up a to go quiche and some water as a snack during the hike. I wasn't holding my breath for anything amazing, especially since I ate the quiche on top of a windy mountain, hours after purchasing it, and it spent ~2 hours being tossed around a cold backpack up a mountain. But, despite all those conditions, it was the best quiche I've ever had! It melted in my mouth. So fluffy. So creamy. Had I known just how life changing this quiche was, perhaps I would have stopped longer to enjoy a fresh warm piece. Highly recommend, and would come back when in the area! read more

Came back for another round of breakfast. I had the veggie breakfast sandwich, husband had an encore of yesterday's breakfast. And iced coffee and a pecan sticky bun. Every thing was fantastic, fresh and delicious. Why did I upgrade to 5*? The staff here. They are seriously some of the sweetest people ever. Pleasant, and clearly know their customers are their bread and butter. The woman who took our order was here again today and remembered us. There was a mom here with two little ones and her infant got sick. Two staff members came over right away- One was helping with the older kid to keep him calm the other helped mom clean up (with gloves! And they did wash their hands/tables/floors very well! :) ). I was in Flex It for lunch today (Saturday 7/7) and have mixed feelings. The food is amazing, especially the baked goods. We tried blueberry muffins and Cuban sandwiches. Staff was polite but not overly friendly. No one checked on us while we were dining and it appears to be a bus-your-own table type of deal. That's fine, but I tip less the more work I have to do. However, I won't recommend this place to my friends. The girl with all of the tattoos on her arms and legs was running around without shoes on! I though she was a customer at first (still gross) but then she hopped behind the register! I am fairly certain this is a health code violation. At the very least, it is extremely unprofessional to walk around your restaurant job without footwear. read more

I have been coming to this Restaurant for YEARS!! I have given this establishment, I can't even tell you how many chances (because it's one of the only place I can get gluten/diary free options). On top of making me wait a ridiculous amount of time and their "regulars" being served right away; they also mess up my order 90% of the time. Another thing is I have gotten rotten food in my to-go on numerous occasions. I literally have never been somewhere that messes up my order and makes we wait till the end of time. Visited a few weeks ago on a vacation back to Maine to see family and friends. I was craving a lobster roll and went here with my mother. Very good! Generous portion and really good brioche bun. GREAT Cuban and grilled chicken pesto paninis. I also appreciated that they had gluten free bread. I haven't had a Cuban in years because I can never get it GF. It did take a long time to get our food though. About 25 minutes. Great food and service! We found this to be an ideal stop for a quick bite coming back from a trip to Acadia. They have a decent coffee by design selection, delicious pastries made fresh right in front of your eyes, and the breakfast burrito is bomb! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming; the pastry chef even made a point to ask us what we thought of his creation. I'm glad to say we had an awesome experience with this place and will look forward to the next opportunity to stop in! read more

Stopped here on out way out of Bar Harbor. Great location and had good reviews. Wow! The woman at the counter was sweet as pie and the pastries look amazing! We tried the chocolate croissant which was fabulous. I had a salmon bagel sandwich and my husband had the egg sandwich on a croissant bun. Both fantastic! Great assortment of drip coffee and specialty coffee. Well done. Quick service even though they had about 8 customers right as they were opening. A welcoming place for breakfast or lunch. Great coffees but be sure to tell them that you're eating in so you'll get a real cup. I always have their egg in pastry crust or their spinach in puff pastry. They willingly reheat these and deliver them to your table. My husband is addicted to their elephant ear pastry! read more

We went to Flexit on our way home from Bar Harbor. We had the Banh Mi sandwich, the turkey sandwich with bacon , and a bowl of their shrimp and corn chowder. The sandwiches are served with Israeli cous cous with sun dried tomatoes and olives and a pickle. Everything was fantastic. The owner Paul was really friendly, and really cares about customer satisfaction. Overall, we had a delightful experience at Flexit.
