I found Flex through Yelp and liked being able to schedule a pickup through an online form. My destination was North County, and I wasn't sure how easy it would be to get a cab. It was a good thing I did, because my flight was rescheduled and got me in a lot later than originally expected. There was some issue with the form, but I received a confirmation the next morning. The day of the flight, the driver picking me up texted me and I was in contact with him up until he picked me up from the San Diego airport garage across the street from the terminal. Our group of 10 people with 3 small kids from SFO made our trip super stress free San Diego. One of these Flex transportation vehicles cut me off pretty badly on the freeway. He kept his blinker on even after he changed lanes and then when he exited the freeway, made an erratic move. I tried to read the ID # on the vehicle but some of it was worn off. The vehicle did not look well maintained overall. This is my only impression of the company but, it was not a very good one. I personally would try another company for transportation before I try them after that experience. But it seems like the other yelpers have had good experiences. Once again, I never rode in one of their vehicles I only experienced them as a fellow driver on the road. read more

The van was large enough for the 10 of us as well as all the luggage we had including a stroller. Both drivers were friendly. I would most definitely use them again. read more

We arrived at midnight and as soon as we got our baggage I had a text from our driver saying she was there. They do charge an after hour fee of $20 for such a late pick up but it was still more affordable than anyone else we asked. We will definitely use them again! read more

This was our first time using Flex Transportation and I am so happy we discovered them! They were not only on time but early! Two weeks ago I scheduled 2 shuttles. (1) at 4:30 am and (1) at 7:30 am. Same day. The 4:30 am never came. I got a call at 5:00 am from a very sleepy person ( I guess he was my driver). He was trying to make sense of why he never picked me up but I decided to make my way to the airport and avoid his nonsense. ( I could not understand a word he was saying) I wrote the company via email. Never got an answer. The 7:30am shuttle came after me calling at 6:00am before boarding my flight and making sure the client was not left behind. No calls, No answers, No apologies. I schedule a shuttle to take my family (7 people) to the airport. The driver showed up on time, but after putting the luggage my wife noticed one of the tires underinflated. The driver could not change the tire by himself, so my wife called our neighbor who helped the driver change the tire. My neighbor notice the other tier underinflated, guess what? The other tire need to be change too. Both tiers were bald. My neighbor was commenting on it saying "They are as bald as my head". The company does not have another shuttle with the same size, so we have to call another service. I cannot believe a shuttle service using a car in this condition. Tires that are underinflated and have low tread are generally considered dangerous. Forget about missing the plan. You put people in danger by not keeping your car in a good shape. Luckily I gave my wife the number of "On Time Shuttle Service". They showed up in 20 minutes after the call, and took the family to the airport. We will never use Flex Transportation again. read more

Was taking a trip to SF for a family vacation (7 people). They are relatively new so I was unsure on the quality of their service. I called to ask about the rate, which was as advertised on their website, and send an email with the pickup information. I received a confirmation and calendar entry my iPhone, which was cool. We had a early pickup (5am) not far from the airport. There was some construction on the "typical" route to my pickup spot, and despite that, the driver arrived promptly at 5am. He was very courteous and helpful with our 8 bags. On the return trip, I called and scheduled a pickup at the airport. They picked us up at the main curb, I just called them to tell what "pickup zone", which is nice not having to cross the main road in front of the airport to the shuttle area. The driver arrived within 10 minutes and again was helpful, clean and polite. The price was very reasonable, the cheapest I have found for this kind of service. One thing to note is that they seem to be self-dispatched, meaning you call the main number, you will get one of the drivers, on one occassion, I offered for the driver to call me back when he had a moment to jot down the infromation, which he did within 10 min. This is probably how they can offer such reasonable prices (no overhead of a dispatcher). As long as they show up on time and are helpful and as another reviewer said not "Gross", that is all that really matters! Great and Horrible! We used Flex in July 2015, airport to home. Driver was on time, nice and we were pleased. Then.... I booked Flex again in September 2015. The trip from home to the airport was great! On time, driver super nice and friendly! We had arranged a pick up from the airport upon our return to SD. I confirmed it from Philadelphia that day. The driver called almost upon our landing. He said to call him after we picked up our luggage (no customs). When I called him back he said he was on another call and it would be 10-15 minutes. Well,ok. 25 minutes later I called FLEX as driver was still not there. We had landed 45 minutes ago. I asked for a discount or free trip and the guy was rude. I just cancelled. Will not use them again. Too bad because my first trips were good! Therefore the 3 stars. Would have said NO stars otherwise. read more

Highly recommended! First off, we needed a ride to the airport at 6 in the morning, while it was pitch black. They came to pick us up 15 minutes early! Then, when we needed a ride from the airport back to our place, our flight ended up arriving 45 mins earlier than anticipated and when we called to ask if there was anybody to pick us up, we were told somebody was in the area and could pick us up in 15 minutes. I had a Monday morning 619 am flight to catch at San Diego airport and didn't feel like bothering anyone with driving me there. So i went to yelp and found this company and gave it a shot I used their online booking, and then it emailed me back to reply stating to confirm which I did. I asked for a 5am pick up and the gentleman in the roomy van swung by at 450am. Sweet From Mesa College area to the airport was 25 dollars even. Good stuff. read more

Easy peezy...called and done, two pickup locations and even scheduled our after party pick up. Our driver, Scott, arrived ten minutes early, and told us to take our time getting ready and didn't rush us because he was early. So reasonably priced and SCOTT is the bomb! I would have loved to be writing about my great experience, clean cars, etc. Unfortunately it was really difficult to get in touch with them to notify them my plane had landed and I was ready for pickup. I believe this stems from not having a single dispatcher or coordinator of some sort. When I called the business line there was no answer. I called twice more with nothing. After leaving a message I gave up and joined the long line of people waiting for taxis. (Also, seriously San Diego? There's a line?! In other cities taxis will cut each other off to pick up a customer.) When I was almost to the front of the line a message finally came through from my driver, but it was from a different number. After waiting in line and juggling my luggage and not being confident about actually having a ride, I just caught a cab instead. I had just spent the majority of my day traveling, it was late, and I was fed up. If a customer has to call a certain number not listed on the site, give them that number when they book. Don't tell them to call for pickup unless the phone will actually be answered. Even better, have a central line that will always be answered to coordinate driver and customer. Cell phones can take a little time to load up and show voicemails, so don't depend on a voicemail to get your customer needed information. It's unfortunate that I had such a crappy experience, seeing all the other positive reviews. Even more unfortunate is that I ended up taking a taxi that ended up being only a few bucks more. *sigh* I did appreciate the owner contacting me about this issue to discuss what went wrong. They did everything they could to pick me up after realizing the original pickup time was wrong, but it didn't work out for either of us. I'd be willing to give them another shot in the future due to their diligence and motivation to make things right. I hope to update in the future with shining reviews. read more

I called the number on the website in a panic, within 10min someone called me back and said he would be at my house in 25min to pick me up. Am I the first to review? Yay! These guys are great. I've only used them once, but they did the job very well. I travel a lot for work and was really tired of booking cabs in advance to get to the airport (which isn't too far from my house), only to have the cabs constantly lost, late, or generally gross/incompetent. I've used Flex 5 times. It's been pretty good! When I call and ask them to pick me up to go to the airport, they are always early and friendly. Even at 4:30 am. I love how the website has the fares listed because I've had horrible luck with San Diego cabs trying to charge me the ridiculous prices. I give 4 stars instead of 5 because one of the times, when I requested pickup at the airport (made the appointment days ahead of time), the driver didn't know that my plane was late (although they are supposed to be able to check online) and thought I'd deliberately kept him waiting. He also hadn't been told my destination by the appointment-making person, so he was planning on it being a short trip, but I live far out in East County so he was upset about it taking so long. He also took the wrong highway and had to do an extra 10 minute detour to get me home. And then joked about how he deserved a 100$ tip for getting me home through traffic. I called to ask how long it usually takes until a vehicle is ready for pick-up when calling spur of the minute rides. The guy was very friendly and polite during my call. I was told the wait is usually 30 - 45 minutes which I feel is a very reasonable amount of time to wait. The website is professional and the rates given are very reasonable. When my Thanksgiving ride from the Sorrento Valley area to the airport had to cancel out, I booked a reservation with this company, based on Yelp reviews. I was glad I did! The online booking process was very easy, the van showed up 10 minutes early, the driver was courteous and safe, and the van was very clean. I made my flight with plenty of time to spare despite horrendous rush hour traffic (the driver knew a couple of good shortcuts to bypass the worst of the congestion). But, the $20 flat airport fee on the website doesn't seem to work for my location. They want 50% more: $30. Booked a prepaid round trip from home to airport. The first trip from home to airport was good, arrived on time good driver. The return trip was horrible. After got the checked bags, no call nor text we had to call dispatch and was told the driver would call me. After 5 minutes, the driver called and said he had to pick ip other 2 parties from Petco Park to hotel Del and would be 30 minutes late. We said OK, what else we could do? 20 minutes later, the driver called again and said he would be another 30 more minutes late. He also told us if we did not want to wait we could take the taxi. I told him who would pay for the taxi. He said the company would do something for me? They should check my flight arrival before accepting another customers. I'm always relying on flex at work and they are a really reliable service! They are just as quick to pick you up as calling a cab, and since its flat rate, you don't have to worry about them taking the shortest route, freeways instead of back roads, etc. all the drivers are drug tested too, which is never a bad thing. I can sleep easy knowing a meth head isn't taking me to and from downtown haha Not to rude, but I can understand them when they speak, which is a nice change from the other san diego cab services. They are always on time and the cabs are clean, smell good and very professional. They even open the door for you! Gotta love that! I booked a ride from the airport to my home weeks in advance of my flight. When I arrived in San Diego, I collected my bags and went curbside. According to my reservation, my driver was supposedly monitoring my flight (which was on time) and would call/text me. I heard nothing after 20 minutes of waiting. I tried to called Flex's dispatch number, but NO ONE answered. I called six times. So with no driver reaching out to me and no way to reach Flex, I took a ride sharing service which was cheaper and had awesome customer service. I would not recommend Flex unless you like being stranded at the airport with no way to reach your driver or Flex Transportation. Additionally, when I contacted Flex the next day, they acknowledged my reservation, but offered no explanation or compensation for stranding me at the airport. Worst customer service ever! read more

i work in the hospitality industry in san diego and getting a good and reliable taxi service for guests is always a hassle... some cabs never show up...some pick up the wrong guests...some go round and round and charge the guests for their mistakes (or sometimes intentional re-routing).. i have never had any issues with flex cab transp. i can honestly say i recommend them to every guest that needs a ride...anywhere. not only do i recommend them but i have had guests recommend them to other guests and continue to use them throughout their stay. great fast service. thanks flex cab for making my job a lot easier! :) read more

The reviews were what got me to call them for their services, its unfortunate that the owner does not provide the safety and customer service that the hired/contracted drivers provide. Apparently there is a problem with drinking and driving, the owner takes the premium fares from his drivers and fulfills them himself although he has been enjoying a drink while at home? he didnt have drivers available and took it upon himself to fulfill the reservation. Never again will I use Flex!!! transportation, I understand practicality but not at peoples safety or livelihoods. read more
