I was in San Diego for a sporting event and requested transportation from the front desk. They called Flex Transportation over a traditional cab. At first, I was apprehensive, mostly because a taxi is what I'm used to. However, the demeanor of the driver immediately put me at ease. We were at the destination quickly and safely and he attempted to drop us off as close to the arena entrance as possible, rather than the usual this is the fare, get out here sort of attitude some cab drivers have. Driver was great, showed up on time at 4:45 in the morning while it was still dark. Got us to the airport in a friendly, pleasant, and courteous manner. Best of all was the great value. I'd give them 5 stars, but I took off one star because they did not call me to confirm my reservation. I made my reservation via text, and I liked that they responded immediately. But there was no final confirmation text to ensure that they would indeed show up at my house at that time. So I had to call them myself to confirm the reservation the evening before they were supposed to show up. Slight communication issues. I used Flex Transportation last week for a round trip to and from the airport. They were on time picking us up on our departure and the driver was friendly. On our return a week later the driver was outside waiting for us as soon as we walked out of the terminal. That driver was also friendly. The Flex guys showed up with a van for the four of us. They were very nice, clean and always on time. The owner drove us and when he wasn't available one of his other drivers drove us. Funny Story. I needed to move my medium/small mattress from my old apartment to my new one. I called and he said he wouldn't mind. He arrived 10 minutes early, and, he ended up carrying my mattress and the frame up 3 stories, despite my protest. It's an 125 year old building so there wasn't an elevator. If I could give this company no stars I would. Making the reservation was a piece of cake but when it actually came time for us to be picked up hmph. I called made the reservation to be picked up at 7:00pm on 07/07/14. I informed Amber that it would be 2 adults an infant and a lot of luggage because we were going to the airport. She said fine advised me there was a $45 flat rate from La Mesa to the airport and I was emailed a confirmation. I thought great my mind was put at ease. Boy was I wrong at 6:55pm I called them back to make sure the driver was on his way and spoke to a representative (I can't remember her name) who sounded like she didn't know what I was talking about. After telling her who I spoke with earlier and the confirmation she goes "oh my driver just texted me he's stuck in traffic and won't be there for 30-45 mins. Do you still want him to come?" Um, how about hell no because at that time it'll be 7:45pm and my flight leaves at 8:55pm. I honestly believe the driver never left because they forgot about the reservation. Very unprofessional. My husband and I spent the next 10 mins calling different cab companies until we found one to accommodate us. Definitely thought we were going to miss our flight thank god we didn't. Really outstanding. We used them for our transportation to the airport and back home over the holidays. Our flight leaving was delayed multiple times and so I kept having to call to delay our pick up time. They were very accommodating. When they finally did arrive it was 15 minutes early. Driver was courteous and drove efficiently but not like "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride" which we have experienced with other services. Van was clean and in great shape. Upon our return back to San Diego, I had a text waiting for me that the driver was in the cell phone lot. We got our luggage, texted him we were ready and he was curbside to pick us up in less than 5 minutes. Prices were very reasonable - cost us less than it would have to do long term parking. We used Flex Shuttle to get to Mission Beach and the next day to Coronado Island. The service was prompt; we had nice, friendly drivers who even stopped on the way at a store so we could buy water. The rates are per vehicle, not per person like some tour companies, and the rates are cheaper than taxis. Vans are comfy and can seat many. I'll use them another time in San Diego. Really wishing I was able to leave zero stars. I had scheduled a pick up for our entire family of nine to take us to the airport. Tbs driver was supposed to be there at 630am. After waiting ten minutes I sent a text to Mark, who I assumed is the owner, advising the driver was not yet tbere. Shortly thereafter I got a call from the driver telling me he would be there in ten minutes. Finally after a few excuses and a couple of phone calls, our ride showed up 45 minutes late. When we got to the airport, we were the last nine passengers to board just as they were getting ready to close the door. Mark offered us $15 off the cost. Upon our return to San Diego, we had a 600pm reservation for our trip back home. Our plane was about five minutes early but while waiting for our luggage the driver sent me a text saying he had a pickup and would likely be a few minutes late. At 555pm, we were outside the terminal witb luggage ready to go and our van was not yet there. I texted the driver and asked how it long would be. He advised 45 minutes. After that I sent a text to Mark expressing my frustration but received no reply. We had spent one and half hours at an airport and close to five hours in the air by this point and needless to say the four year old and nine year old had had enough. We secured another ride home at that point. A text was sent to both the driver and owner we did not require their service. It's been two days and I have not received a text, phone call, or email of apology or concern. I fully recommend any other people interested in using this company to extend their search somewhere else. They will certainly not receive any consideration in my future needs. read more

I work at the front desk of a hotel in San Diego. It is far enough away from the city that most guest staying in the hotel need a taxi to downtown or other areas. I make sure every guest who asks for a taxi knows about FLEX first. Have never had a single guest complain about the service they provided and our hotel uses them at least 5 times daily. They are fast, on time (usually 5-10 min early), friendly. Even if we have to cancel a reservation last minute they don't get mad or complain. Very proffesional group. Very reasonably price too! (I have seen cab tickets that double their prices) Do not use SD cabs they purposly get lost so you have a high cab fair. FLEX much better use of transportation. read more

You never know how well an airport pickup will be until you are waiting curbside with 2 young and cranky kids. Flex appeared to have a high rating and low cost and I'm glad I decided to use them for our special quick vacation. Before I had my phone turned the driver had left a voicemail and a text message with details on what to do for the pickup. The van was room for our family of four, had the carseats we needed, and the driver(s) were both friendly. I decided to change our reservation and sent an email on a Sunday night. The change was confirmed that night and again the next morning. The return to the airport went smoothly as well and pickup was on-time again. I highly recommend Flex Transportation and will use them again if in San Diego without a car. read more
