Fast service and good price. I have damaged my bike's gear cable while transporting it in the vehicle. Called in and spoke to Kevin, drop my bike off 15 mins later. Brought my new bike in because the front tire had caught a flat, and wound up leaving with a new tire, new pedals, and new bike grips for just $50 including labor! These were all installed in-shop in under a half hour. So glad I saw the accessories I needed in the store, because I was going to attempt to order them online and install them myself - which would've likely been an epic fail LOL. These guys know what they're doing, and the owner was great to chat with while I waited. I live in the heights, and will definitely use this shop for all of my bike needs moving forward! read more

Just left the shop. Great experience! I simply had an old Walmart bike for rolling around the area that needed a flat tire fixing. Not even 5 minutes after walking in and my bike was street ready again. The shop was nice and clean, a bit small so their shelves don't have a large selection of accessories but all that they had were way out of my simple bike's needs. Total service costed me 13 dollars. Quick and simple. I'll come back when I decide to get myself a nice bike! read more

I had an emergency today, took the kids and our bikes to Memorial park to ride, and my kids tube just gave up the ghost. I looked up the nearest bike shop and we packed the bikes and drove over to Fletchers. thi swas toward end of afternoon, and I wanted to ride befor ethe day was up. The manager at first said he was jammed , could we leave the bike overnight, but then [ maybe after looking at my disappointed face, cos we live miles away] he rethought and said I'll do it now. Eight minutes later we were out the shop on our way to ride. Cost for replacing the tube, 13 dollars. Cannot do better than that. read more

I went to Fletcher in September to get my wheels trued. Explained to younger guy in the shop and Kevin what was going on. I knew myself that my wheels were not way out of true, and I had did a little truing on them myself but wanted to take them in to a professional. My wheels were also making some spoke noise. It was about to close in an hour, so I left my wheelset in and went around to a shop to sit. When I came back my wheels were finished. Kevin told me my price was 25$ for the pair, which was lower than the initial 15$ each I was told by the younger guy. This price was altogether much lower than a lot of the prices I got when calling around town. He also informed me of a kink in my wheel (which was because of a crash I'd had), but that overall my wheels didn't need much truing. They aired up my tires really well, also, and my wheels looked good and straight. Initially, I went to Fletcher because I had been to several other bike stores around Houston for items I was purchasing (Daniel Boone, West U Cycles, Houston Bicycle Co.), and with the exception of West U (friendly but didnt have what i needed), the rest had the standard annoying bike store feeling. Didn't feel like they were interested if I was buying something or not, etc. The guys at Fletcher were pretty nice, not super chatty, but told me what I needed to know and answered my questions politely. Once I got my wheels back home and on my bike, there was some slight noise, but they felt nice and smooth, and after riding out a bit for a day or two, they were nice and silent. Excellent work, and my wheels are still great and true today. As long as service stays the same, this is a bike store I will continue to go to. read more

I needed to purchase a new chain, and gear cassette, etc, immediately. Was literally hung up on via phone by bike shop near Fletchers Bike Studio. So, obviously I rode down street to Fletchers. Emmitt and Kevin were THOROUGHLY pro, NEVER talking down to nor DISMISSING my many questions. No snobby elitism at this shop - just for-real cyclists these two employees.Tho other bike techs elsewhere didn't help me re chain jumping gears,saying, 'You need the new cassette & new chain NOW." Emmitt at Fletchers helped me with a temporary-solution,till I have funds next week to buy everything.(Don't understand why OTHER bike shops near Fletchers couldn't help like Emmitt did..?) He showed me the teeth on gearing were so worn,he'd have to set derailluer & chain on least worn one. Problem solved,till I come back next week! [Of note, Kevin treated me like a frkn NO-BODY EVERY TIME I called, etc. And, Emmitt, who FIXED Kevin's "work on bike" which lasted approx 6 hours, Kevin has since FIRED Emmitt...a dude who's the ONLY reason I left Fletchers a GOOD review. On my experience with Kevin alone, my paying him for a gear-fix that his since-fired employee Emmitt had to to re-do completely 12 hrs later, I'd actually give this shop a whopping 1 star. [ Hey Kevin, don't know WHY you fired your bike tech Emmitt...but obviously dude ran CIRCLES around you re bike knowledge,as YOUR 10$ 'fix' lasted about 6 hours, but Emmits fix, wherein he screwed the derailleur down preventing chain from jumping has lasted 5 weeks now...Holmes.] - James 'Bolio' Hedrick {P.S. If there were a way to give Kevin and his Fletcher Bike Studio 10 Stars they deserve everyone of them! I visited there this morning as one of my rear brake pads came of during my morning ride. As Kevin is getting ready to put on my new pad (I'm not a mechanic, I'm a rider) I watch him take off my rear wheel and proceed to realign my wheel, he then replaces it on my bike, puts on the pad, THEN proceeds to oil & lube and check out everything on my bike. I'm here thinking what did I get myself into here, he's spending a good 1/2 hour on my bike... Kevin proceeds to the register to ring me up and all he charged me for was the brake pad.... WOW! This is the kind of service that every business should edify, he has definitely won me over as a permanent customer, and a business that I will refer you to, and everyone that ever asks me about a place to get some thing done on their bike. read more

My husband is a very avid hard core mountain biker. Clearly this shop isn't and does not cater to mountain bikes or mountain bikers. A group of @ 6 of us we're riding around Allen parkway playing on the grass and concrete hills practicing extended climbs and my fathers yeti (mountain bike) had a rear "burp" which allowed the rear tire to loose all it's air almost instantly as it's a tubeless wheel (Stan's arch) and a tubeless tire (racing ralph). Keep in mind these wheels and tires are made specifically to be set up tubeless. We went in and some short, young Hispanic guy (never got his name as he didn't introduce himself to us) told us "this isn't a tubeless wheel or tire so it won't work! I can't repair it".... My husband laughed and said "say what? This is a tubeless specific set up and it's worked perfect for two years, dad simply hit a bump hard and burped the wheel off just enough to loose his air" The employee just looks at him and says "sorry I can't do it" Yes, this is the truth. Yes, this guy was this ignorant and this trip to this tiny shop with very little inventory was a total waste of time. We went to urban bikes a few blocks away and they had it on a bike stand and repaired within 5 minutes. We ended up spending a large amount of $ on a total of three bikes that same day with urban because they actually had what we needed and what we needed wasn't just new brakes on one bike, new clipless pedals on another and a carbon bar on my bike - we also ended professionalism, knowledge and good service which fletcher most def didn't have! Never again to say the least will we go to this lame shop "fletcher bike studio". read more

Really enjoyed my visits to Fletcher Bike Studio. Came in casually on a Saturday looking for a commuter/beater bike. The team here was super helpful. They explained everything I needed to know about my budget and what trade-offs I was making. In the end, found a perfect bike for my needs. They also have some really nice helmets, pumps and components here. You can tell these guys ride and only sell what they feel comfortable getting behind. I recently found myself in need of a tuneup on my road bike; not wanting to go outside of biking distance, I was looking mainly in Montrose. I happened to pass Fletcher Bike Studio (on my bike) on the way to work one day and thought I'd check it out. Great decision. For $50--cheaper than everywhere else I checked--Kevin made my quite well-used (i.e. dirty) bike look pretty much new. he also did all the standard tuneup stuff (brakes, chain check, check tires, gears, etc...) AND got it done in less than a day. plus he was uber-nice about it and didn't make me feel guilty or ignorant because i'm not a bike geek and can't keep the bike totally clean (i.e. indoors) all the time. i know he also does custom bikes and sells other gear, but i was just in need of a tuneup this time-- read more

I came to Fletchers through a friend who had gotten her bike tuned here and said that it was a lot cheaper (~$75?) compared to other bike shops in the Houston area. My bike needed some tuning but I was shocked when the price was $100. Maybe there's different levels that I didn't know about but I went ahead and agreed to the amount since I figured my bike needed some TLC. Kevin was very knowledgeable and even let me hold my bike there for over a week when I did not have time to pick it up. He even helped me put my bike in my car. Although the price was not initially what I had expected, it was worth the price since Kevin did a great job cleaning my chain, greasing it AND cleaning my bike! It was spic n span like never before. I do recommend Kevin, he treats you like a valuable customer and knows his bikes and how to maintain it. read more
