The first staff member we encountered couldn't locate the prescription in their system, despite it having been sent by our pediatrician. Her response was dismissive and unhelpful: "I can't do anything; it's not in the computer." We confirmed with the pediatrician that the prescription was correctly sent and even had them resend it, this was not the first time this Walgreens failed to find an active prescription. Eventually, a more senior staff member located it and told us it would be prepared. Ten minutes later, they returned saying it would cost over $800 because it was not covered by insurance. The next day, our pediatrician's office was stunned. Their in-house pharmacy provided us with two tubes of the same cream at no cost and apologized profusely. I don't know what is wrong with the system, or staff, at this location, but quoting $800 for a simple antibiotic cream and repeatedly failing to locate prescriptions is unacceptable. We are switching pharmacies permanently. It's deeply concerning to consider what could happen if a more urgent or life-saving medication were involved. This level of disorganization and carelessness is not just inconvenient, it's dangerous. I just don't have the time and energy to engage myself in suing them. Finally, I'd like to make one more observation. While the line at this pharmacy is usually not long, typically 3 to 5 people, it consistently moves painfully slowly. It often takes 20-30 minutes just to serve a single customer. I don't want to speak on behalf of others, but it's hard to ignore the visible frustration and frequent complaints from people ahead of us. This recurring pattern strongly suggests that systemic issues are affecting more than just isolated cases. I may not know each customer's situation, but from what I've seen repeatedly, I am likely not alone in experiencing major service failures at this location. My advice: stay away, especially if you're trying to fill an active or time-sensitive prescription.
