I set up an appointment. I took my day off. He did not want to reveal the location of his shop and insisted on coming to me. On the day of the appointment, he never showed up. I called him multiple times, but he never picked up the phone. I texted multiple times as well. Zero response. Things happen. I wouldn't give this rating if he had the decency to tell me that he could not make it. I wouldn't have taken the day off or waited for him for hours. I ordered and paid for my radiator parts and paid the labor cost he requested. Radiator appears to be fix but mechanic said I shouldn't drive too far and not drive above 65mph. He said he would order and pay for a front grill and replace old screws/bolts but he never did. He replaced some screws/bolts with zip ties instead and said it's stronger than bolts/screws... shoddy work I say. I've been patiently waiting for mobile mechanic to return and fix the car airbag light and put the headlight cap back on. It's been over a week and no response. Get everything in writing from this mechanic. Lesson learned I'll be working with my bank to see what recourse I have as I paid with Zelle app. I need to have a real mechanic inspect his work, fix car air bag light, put headlight cap back on light wires/plug, and see if anything else that is not visible was replaced with zip ties or proper screws/bolts. Update - Since I posted my experience, Jamaal has unprofessionally texted quite early 3AM & 6 AM with no apology or explanation why he never returned to fix what he said he would. I was kind and paid him before job was completed. As I said previously, get everything in writing from anybody doing work for you. You fixed nothing else but radiator. You assembled it all together without putting everything back in it's proper place. Let's start from the beginning. He accepted the radiator project but then insisted getting my car out to his home to work on. Why advertises as mobile mechanic?.... Neighbors are at work daytime, parking in front of my building is open, enough room to work on car. He reluctantly came late to work on car after I said car can be moved to other side of building. I suspect so i don't see what shortcut work may be happening. I've never had airbag light on until this "mechanic" worked on my car. I had oil change a few weeks prior and would have addressed it with the shop then. All parties were aware of radiator project alone no other projects. My brakes and rotors are not worn out as I can brake easily and they don't squeak. Like every other mechanic that tries to upsell you on more services, he told me car needed more work and he could do it all. I asked each time what cost would be for each project and what parts I would need. He did not fix anything else but radiator. Context behind the grille text was because mechanic said it would only be $20. I texted that the grill may not be needed Told him next day again grille was $50 and that was when He said he would buy it himself. He texted he would buy radiator hoses so I didn't order them with the other parts. He of course didn't buy them and I had to show him his text. Nearing completion of project, he said he could use epoxy or use zip tie for my grill instead. Upon assembling and dis-assembling car to get to the radiator, he forgot to put some parts properly in place. I made him aware very next day when I found parts in my car. I found extra part of bumper piece in trunk, which I wasn't even aware of until days after I used my trunk. I no way in any shape or form harassed this business owner at anytime. If I had, it would have been during 7 days of no response when he texted he would return but never did. He only followed up with me when I posted this review. After several rude texts, to which I didn't respond, he offered a refund. I was generous and said I would accept a refund half of what I paid bc he did work on radiator. He said he'll send refund and requested I update my Yelp post immediately after to which I agreed. The business owner then changed his mind again. This was my whole experience, him saying one thing and doing another. As I mentioned, get everything in writing. I have proof with pictures and text messages. I understand now why auto shops give you detailed printouts even with simple oil changes. read more

I needed to remove the oil pan from my car as part of another repair job that I'm doing but it was stuck on. I tried hitting it with a mallet, prying with a screwdriver and crowbar, hammering a putty knife into the seam but all to no avail. I was about to look into getting a heat gun or RTV sealant remover but decided to look into a mechanic as well to save me time. I asked a few businesses and most either didn't respond or said they couldn't do a job that someone else started. Jamaal was the only one who responded. He was quick to respond and drove out to my place since my engine is partially disassembled. He came later than originally scheduled but that was because another customer had an emergency that he took care of, which I can understand. It took him less than 20 minutes to get off the oil pan. I had been at that thing for a week. Super friendly, he was willing to explain what he was doing to me and the different things he was trying so I was able to learn a few new things as well. In the end only cost me $50. Totally worth it since it saved me a lot of time and headache. Now I can continue with my repair job. I highly recommend him. read more
