My car lost oil pressure for just a second, then recovered. However, the check engine light came on. I took it into Auto Zone and they said the code was PO522. The print-out said I needed a new oil pressure sending unit and also recommended replacing the intake manifold gasket. It was not a cheap fix. Being new to the area, I had no idea where to go. I researched it and discovered that Texas Auto Care had the best reviews by far. I called and spoke with James, the owner and mechanic. He gave me a quote of nearly $500. I dropped my car off and when he called to say the car was ready, he advised me there would be no charge as he felt there had been a glitch in the system when my oil was changed the day before. I would highly recommend Texas Auto Care. It would have been so easy for them to have done the job and I never would have known! I can't tell you how thankful I am that I found James and Jessica. I had been told the folks at Texas Auto Care are really good to do business with. I was not disappointed on my recent visit. I had a part I needed put on my car. They were very accommodating and had the part on in just a few minutes. The price was very reasonable and everyone I met was pleasant and easy to work with. This place is small and not fancy but they get the work done. From now on I will most definitely think of them first when my vehicles need attention. I brought my car hear a couple months ago for a complete ac rebuild they did very good work it broke today the dryer went out they honered my warranty and fixed it very fast completely free of charge this is a very very good spot to get work done to your car they are very nice as well very very happy read more

I've used Mike for the past 5 1/2 years since moving to Longview and trust him completely. The number one attribute I care about in my mechanic is honesty and Mike is a man of character, no doubt. I have lifetime wheel alignments on my cars through Firestone so I usually have them do my oil changes and wheel alignments on Sundays (Mike is closed on weekends). However, if they say I need additional work, I always bring it to Mike to get his opinion. I can't tell you the number of times he takes a look and let's me know that I actually don't need new struts, or brakes, or wheel bearings, or tires and on and on. He could easily just agree with the other mechanic and I would be none the wiser, but that's not who he is. And then, when he does do work on my vehicles, he does an excellent job and stands behind his work. The only draw back is that because he is the best mechanic in Longview, he is usually pretty busy so I often just leave the car there to be worked on (unless it is something quick like a State Inspection or oil change). Now that I think about it, if more people see his 5 star reviews and start using him he will get even busier. I've changed my mind. He is horrible, stay away! read more

Great auto shop with honest, hard working, fast, and capable mechanics/staff. I've brought my car to have it inspected (which took only about 15 minutes!!! =)), have the oil changed (again only about 30 minutes and I was out of there =)), and to have it looked at for what another shop had told me was a list of needed repairs in the thousands. Mechanics on staff could have taken advantage of the situation to upsell me on repairs I didn't need, but instead looked at my car and assured me that the repairs were not needed and I could save myself the extra cash. Truly an amazing company and a pleasure to do business with. I will be back! read more
