Went browsing at Fleet Feet looking for a possible walking shoe. I had not planned on making a purchase, just looking at options and had already been to several stores, as I have several issues with feet and knees. The lady who greeted me asked if I had an appointment, I did not. She proceeded to assist me anyway, using technology to analyze my feet and walking pattern. I was surprised to find out one foot had a very high arch, while the other was very low. Was never told this before and this information helped to explain a lot of things. My high arch was collapsing, affecting the ankle and knee and opposite leg as I was favoring one side over the other. Denise took A LOT of time with me, fitted me with several options of shoes and arch supports. I found one shoe with a support that gave me relief in my knee that I had not had for many, many months. It is shocking that relief could be experienced so quickly. Everything is not back to normal yet, but I am very happy with my purchase of shoes, arch support, socks. I've been running my whole life. Qualified and ran 2 Bostons Marathons, ran a 50 mile ultra. Yet, never did a fitting at a Fleet Feet until last week. I had a great experience and even learned something new. I had no idea that when you use shoe inserts you're supposed to take out the original shoes insert. Mind blown. The staff is great and friendly. I cant recommend this place more. I'll be back in the future and hope to run one of their fun runs in the future. read more

I went to the Fleet Feet on Old Sauk Road in Madison WI and was greeted by a very friendly Mandy!!! I came to try on some shoes, the first pair didn't work out for me so with the quick thinking of Mandy she went into the back and found a perfect pair of shoes for my massive feet!! Mandy also laced the shoes up in a way that gave me space in the tight areas but allowed the shoe to fit comfortable but also secure. I am very impressed with the service Mandy provided, she has great customer service skills, excellent communication as well as a friendly demeanor in general and I would recommend her and Fleet Feet to all of my friends and family! As an avid walker, I have issues with my legs, especially my left leg. When I entered the store I told the sales woman that I would be a tough case. She said that this was fine. We began by her doing a foot scan which we discussed. Then we spent about an hour or more where I tried on probably 10 different pairs of shoes with two different types of inserts. as a result I was finally able to make a purchase. She was very patient, kind and helpful. When we finished and I reminded her that I said I would be a difficult case, she said, "Well that's what I'm here for." The shoes and inserts which I purchased have made a big difference. I am not experiencing the pain that I had in my left leg as before. Needless to say I'm very happy with them and very much appreciate her experience and diligence in helping me find the right pair of shoes and inserts. Fleet Feet was recommended to me by a fellow skater, as I'd been having a lot of problems with hot spots in my quad skates and i had a couple of large raw spots on my arches. I stopped by after work, and I was initially disappointed because I stood there waiting for someone to help me for a long time. They had a few customers, and it seemed like their customer service is pretty attentive and labor intensive, so I understood the wait. When someone came over, I explained the issue to her and she knew exactly what to do. She recommended a new insert and some synthetic socks. We tried a couple inserts and I found one that felt good and she cut it to fit my skates. She helped me select a sock that would work best with my skates, and checked me out. The whole experience was really efficient and the customer service was fantastic. And the knowledge she had was great -- she knew just what I needed. You guys, I went from skating awkwardly with a lot of foot pain to skating effortlessly with no pain at all. I am amazed. And super grateful that I found Fleet Feet. I highly recommend visiting if you're having shoe issues or fit issues. They know their stuff. read more

I have been really, really happy with this store. It is always organized well, it's easy to find what you need, it's always fun to peruse the sale items and I have never had less than excellent attention from sale staff. Last week, about a month after buying a new pair of shoes and a few days into practice my daughter started to experience foot pain. I was worried that it may have something to do with switching shoes - she's stuck with one brand for a while and this was a new try. The owner met with us tonight by appointment and took a great deal of time watching her run in the shoes and helping to puzzle through what may have happened. We walked out with a different pair of shoes because of their generous 60 day return policy, I had some validation, and they earned a customer for life. We have no shortage of great running stores in this area, but I so appreciate the above and beyond customer service at this one. read more

As I've said before, I am all about service (call me a sucker for it and I'm cool with that). Here goes: 1) Owner Mike read my review and reached out to me to make things better. IT WORKED. I was going back anyway, read the 1st review, but this made things all the sweeter. =) 2) I don't pay real prices for Wal-Mart service and guess what....(insert drumroll) Fleet Feet gives the top echelon service that is expected~ 3) Tonight we returned to use the Xmas Holiday secret envelope but beyond all that, I met new employees (not that they were new just new to me). Good ole' Taylor was present and updated me on his MIAMI run. Lucky him but I can't do a half marathon yet. 4) AND HERE'S THE REAL DEAL, MAKE ME SMILE, KEEP ME HAPPY....THE LATEST events surround a running club for beginners. YAY me! I'm signing up. Why? Since I can run anywhere and already do. I feel like I have a lot to learn & they can teach me great things so I can not only make Captain but get promoted to Major along my timeline. DON'T GO TO FLEET FEET DON'T GO TO FLEET FEET Went to FF in Madison on July 6th to get some new runners. I chose this store because of their foot mapping technology and on the strength of reviews. WORST PLACE EVER!!! Not only was their pressure point pads not working they also have the RUDEST staff in the shoe game. I trusted the employee to help me out and she did just enough to get the sale. She gave me vague reassurance that she can figure out my foot without the machines they claim to use. After trying on a few pair I decided on one for $165. When she asked if there was anything else I needed, I declined. She then POINTS and LAUGHS at my feet and loudly says "LOOKS LIKE YOU NEED NEW SOCKS", while continually laughing. Really? My socks are a month old,no rips holes or funky smells. She literally tried to shame me into buying their $15 socks. In what business is this acceptable?? Apparently it's fine at Fleet Feet. After emailing the owner about her rude staff she replied with "I apologize and will talk with her BUT that's the way she is". There shouldn't have been a BUT. She flat out sided with the rude employee. After a few back and forth emails of her not giving a flying f*ck I requested corporate phone # . She joyfully replied "Absolutely But I own my store and they'll just send you back to me" If you are into shoe stores who dont do what they claim, have OBNOXIOUSLY RUDE STAFF,and an owner who doesn't give an F about your needs then Fleet Feet is the place for you. Edit: you'll notice that MATT A.,the business manager asked me to contact him so they can make this right. Clearly Matt didn't even bother to read my review. If he had he would know that the owner has already washed her hands of all of this and basically condoned her employees actions. This is Fleet Feet and their manager attempting to save face. Nice store! I ended up buying a pair of shoes I didn't like, and they let me return it for another pair! They also have a treadmill you can run on and they sell shoes for msrp which is nice, some of the other running stores in Madison will upcharge you $5-10 on shoes, even if they're $150+, and fleet feet seems to have reasonable prices with a really forgiving return policy. read more

I've been going to Fleet Feet for my running shoes for ten years, the service has always been top notch. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and will make sure you get the show you need. I've never felt rushed to make a purchase or to. It try on another our if shoes--even though I almost always have purchased the same style as the previous year! I really appreciate that they keep my style and size on file so that I can get the same shoe the next time I'm stopping in. Sure, you can probably save a few bucks by shopping online, but it's definitely worth shopping local here for the knowledge and great service. We used to go here for everything - recommended it to a number of people - we were dedicated and between my daughter and I who both run - we bought a lot of shoes over the years. It used to be a happy and positive place where the staff were runners and they knew their product but in the past few years - the salespeople haven't been informed on the shoes and they were just selling shoes like what you would buy anywhere. But we kept coming because we still needed shoes. Then they sold us the wrong pair of spikes. I asked for cross country - the person told me the spikes were cross country - my daughter showed up to the race and the spikes were sprinter spikes. So - awful eace - she borrowed somebody else's spikes and whatever - it was a day. So I return the spikes. I inform the person the reason for my return and he just shrugs it off. Then - unsolicited- I get an email from the owner. She basically tells me that it's my fault because I was asking for cross country spikes at the end of cross country season. And then (after multiple dramatic emails) continues to tell me that I can go elsewhere for shoes. And so I will. read more

Matt did a great job today! I stopped in looking for CrossFit shoes and he measured my feet on a special instrument which gave a lot of knowledge into the type of shoe I need. Then he spent the time with me trying on five or six different shoes with different insoles. I finally found the ones that were perfect for me. Highly recommend! read more

I visited Fleet Feet today and was absolutely blown away by the fantastic selection and friendly staff. I came in looking for new running shoes, and Julie spent about 25 minutes examining my stride, measuring my feet, and inquiring about my running style to help me make the best selection possible. She was super knowledgable and suggested several options for me, evening offering to order a pair for me if I wanted a different color. The employees are clearly engaged in the running community - I overhead several of them talking about their recent races and they suggested that I look into joining a running group in Madison (I may just do it!). This store isn't huge but has a large selection of both shoes and accessories. I picked up some new running tights, too, and tried them out today - they're great! Prices are competitive with other running stores, and if you have GHC insurance, you get an extra $10 off shoes in addition to getting your insurance reimbursement. I will be back! read more

Fleet feet has been absolutely fantastic! Every time I visit this store the people that work there have been so incredibly helpful. I first visited fleet feet in September looking for a wet suit for a 30 hour adventure race and they were so helpful in finding me one that fit and worked well for the rave that I was doing. I have also bought some clothing from them and it has held up nicely. If you have any questions they are very helpful and know all the answers. They even went out of their way to gift wrap a present for Christmas which was so helpful! I will be returning here for all my racing needs and with their rewards program it's hard not to. read more

Knowing full well we were going in simply intending to look, Curtis took the time to sit down with my girlfriend and I, measured both of our feet, looked at our stride, the movement of our feet/ankles/arches as we walked/ran and discussed what types of shoes we need to be looking for and why without ever ONCE trying to "sell" me anything. Let me say that again. After telling him we were just looking, he took a LOT of time to help us know what to look for and didn't once try to sell us on so much as a shoelace. Their service to us "lookers" was outstanding and I can't recommend them highly enough. As it so happens, we bought a pair of running shoes and the service had a LOT to do with that. Because of Curtis and his service, we will be buying from them again...and again...and any other time we have a running related purchase to buy. I recently went to the Old Sauk location (Madison) with my oldest son to replace the running shoes we bought there in September. Matt was extremely patient and brought out a lot of options for him to try on. When we went to check out I couldn't believe that he was giving us a full refund for the last pair because the treads were completely falling apart. Matt explained that it must have been a manufacturer default. Whatever the reason, I couldn't believe that he offered to do that without having to ask! Now that's customer service!! I went in to Fleet Feet in Middleton on Sunday 3/17/19. They were really busy. They appear to have very personalized service, as far as once you find someone to help you. I stood there for 20+ minutes and not one employee even acknowledged my presence. They seemed to be slowing down, one employee had finished working with someone. She walked past me and didn't make eye contact. When she didn't come out within another 2-3 minutes, I left and had a lot easier time spending $130 on a pair of shoes at Berkeley running on University Avenue. read more

I'm mostly thinking of the Sun Prairie store here I like this store pretty well. They are attentive to customers, and have a variety of shoes and some other gear to choose from. The store is open and airy, but at the expense of variety of products. I also like the classes and events they hold in conjunction with the other store. Madison doesn't seem to have much of an independent running club scene, but the local stores kind of make up for it. read more

He watched my stride, and measured my feet, and then made a few suggestions to try on. He brought out three pairs, of which the third I tried fit my foot like a glove. Very helpful and not pushy.
