Overall, DSW is fairly standard. Passable. Madison's East location fits that mold…read more I've found a couple pairs of casual and dressier work shoes here over the last few years. Staff is friendly, willing to help with back of house inventory searches or placing online orders for delivery to the store. The best time to visit are the very first day of major sale times. Watch out for those sale periods. There are the best chance to find a deal on that first day. You can sign up for the birthday and point club (and emails), and receive a $ credit on your birthday. There isn't much else to say. It's passable.

I found a pair of shoes I like on the DSW website. They advertise 20% off if I sign up for the VIP…read moreAccount. I did that and went to check out and no discount. I called, sat on hold, then had someone call me back. She said she can apply the discount and then wanted my credit card number. I told her that I wanted to use the PayPal option to check out and she told me that I don't get the discount. I ask why not? She said the item I want is excluded. Really?? They advertise 20% for new sign ups and nothing says that anything in particular is excluded. I told her that she must be able to give me coupon code to use to get the discount and she said no. So then I asked her to delete my account and that I did not wany any SPAM from them No emails, texts, or calls. She said she handled that by deleted my account. Guess what I still get??? Is this how DSW attracts buyers? False advertisement and once they have your email or phone, they spam you forever? I will NEVER shop with DSW.

This is more of a review of Marmot than of Fontana Sports. I bought my first Marmot down jacket…read morehere, and it lasted almost twenty years before the zipper broke. It kept me so warm and toasty in the brutal upper Midwest winters. I discovered the Marmot brand here in the 1990s. Back in the 1990s, Patagonia was not considered as "technical" and as bougie as Marmot and The North Face. Arcteryx either didn't exist or was an obscure brand almost thirty years ago. Now, Patagonia and Arcteryx are off-the-charts insanely priced. Marmot and The North Face are considered "value" brands. In any case, I still buy Marmot; it's better quality and far better value than Patagonia because: 1. Higher down fill power and 2. Higher down fill weight I recently bought a 700-fill down parka from Marmot with 220 grams of down for far less money than a 600-fill down parka with 150 grams of down from Patagonia. I was cold in the Patagonia parka, and it was horribly expensive. I had to return. I also bought coats from Eddie Bauer and from L.L. Bean. Nowhere nearly as warm as Marmot. The Marmot down parka that I recently bought is called the Montreaux Coat, and I've yet to find a warmer coat at such a great price point. It hits my knee, although it's supposed to hit my calf, so that's a bit misleading on their website. It's closer to parka length than coat length. I like that when the zipper broke after almost twenty years of owning my first Marmot down jacket, I called Marmot's Customer Service, they sent me a shipping label, and they said that they would gladly repair the zipper for me, for free. When they couldn't repair the zipper, they just sent me a new Marmot down jacket. So, I wore that complimentary replacement jacket for another ten years before finally buying the Montreaux coat this year almost thirty years after buying my first Marmot down jacket from Fontana Sports.

i still miss the west side store! Every day!!!!! Wonderful store! Ski tuning was wonderful!read more
