Dick's... If you go into any Dick's Sporting Goods anywhere in the country, they are all pretty…read moremuch the same. They look the same, they carry mostly the same items, and pretty much you know exactly what you're going in there for and you know what you're going to find. This location is no different. This is a two-story location. It's fairly large. And, it is fully stocked with all of the things you would expect them to carry. So, if you want to go in here and buy those sporting goods that you need, this is the place to go. This location also carries a lot of Badgers and Packers jerseys, hats, T-shirts, and all of that kind of stuff. So if you're looking for that team stuff or memorabilia, again, this is your place to go. As in all Dick's Sporting Goods, the staff here are all very nice and they will help you as best as they can. So, if you look looking for what Dick's has to offer, this is local location to go.

I needed to grab a pair of shoes and some clothing for a man who was in need of help on Tuesday…read morenight, and this was the closest shop I could find that had both shoes and clothing, including t-shirts, briefs, pants, and socks. I didn't see the Kohl's across the lot until after I spent nearly $200 here. Even the same items are priced so high here. The cheapest shoes I could find were $99 and they were wrong size so I passed on those. You tick the size and style into a kiosk and then a worker brings the shoes to you, but she brought a women's 7 instead of a man's 7, and it was too late to re-do the process so I just skipped buying the shoes. The line at checkout was super long, too. I don't think I'll come back here.

I've been to this store more than a dozen times and have purchased more than a dozen shirts. A nice…read moreselection if you come at the right time of the year for what you want. I always look at the bargain racks and as usual they never have my size in what I want or they do and its some crazy colour or pattern. The dry-fit shirts I have, about 8 from Columbia have all lasted me 3-5 years so far. I have yet to throw one out. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

It often seems like outlet malls are where the designers' also-rans end up. You know, the clothing…read moreitem that seemed so cute on paper, but when it came back from the Asian factory, real and three-dimensional, everyone standing around as it was taken out of the box just said, "Whoops." And then they sent it directly to the outlet mall. There are some items like that at the Columbia store. Odd colors, designs you can't picture being sold at full retail. For example, pairs of plaid shorts, in bright summery colors with matching tops, that came down to the knee in form-fitting fashion -- they were essentially hot pants. I have to ask, what were these doing at a sporting-goods store? I can't imagine them selling well to Columbia's target market. But, there are also plenty of items that fit more squarely within the Columbia brand. Such as, a white linen shirt with button-up sleeves, perfect for lightweight sun protection on the water or when camping; and a pair of nylon shorts for whitewater rafting (when they won't let you wear cotton on the river). There are plenty of "quirky" items -- normal Columbia items such as warm winter coats, in slightly odd colors that obviously didn't sell well. For instance, I got a really nice sun hat for $6 (I think the original price was like $40). Even better if it's your favorite color -- this one was purple! I did not check out the shoe selection but they do have them. All sorts of camping gear as well. Like most outlet stores, you may not find exactly what you're looking for at this one, but you will find plenty that you weren't looking for -- and sometimes that's the best part.

This is more of a review of Marmot than of Fontana Sports. I bought my first Marmot down jacket…read morehere, and it lasted almost twenty years before the zipper broke. It kept me so warm and toasty in the brutal upper Midwest winters. I discovered the Marmot brand here in the 1990s. Back in the 1990s, Patagonia was not considered as "technical" and as bougie as Marmot and The North Face. Arcteryx either didn't exist or was an obscure brand almost thirty years ago. Now, Patagonia and Arcteryx are off-the-charts insanely priced. Marmot and The North Face are considered "value" brands. In any case, I still buy Marmot; it's better quality and far better value than Patagonia because: 1. Higher down fill power and 2. Higher down fill weight I recently bought a 700-fill down parka from Marmot with 220 grams of down for far less money than a 600-fill down parka with 150 grams of down from Patagonia. I was cold in the Patagonia parka, and it was horribly expensive. I had to return. I also bought coats from Eddie Bauer and from L.L. Bean. Nowhere nearly as warm as Marmot. The Marmot down parka that I recently bought is called the Montreaux Coat, and I've yet to find a warmer coat at such a great price point. It hits my knee, although it's supposed to hit my calf, so that's a bit misleading on their website. It's closer to parka length than coat length. I like that when the zipper broke after almost twenty years of owning my first Marmot down jacket, I called Marmot's Customer Service, they sent me a shipping label, and they said that they would gladly repair the zipper for me, for free. When they couldn't repair the zipper, they just sent me a new Marmot down jacket. So, I wore that complimentary replacement jacket for another ten years before finally buying the Montreaux coat this year almost thirty years after buying my first Marmot down jacket from Fontana Sports.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They didn't have the size needed in store, but took down my I formation and called me when it was ready (just a few business days later). My second trip was Christmas shopping for goalie gloves, a goalie jersey, and soccer ball. The prices were actually reasonable compared to the same product we had looked at on Amazon. With that being said, you can definitely spend a fair share of cash without putting much effort into it. Great selection, anything you could need to play rec or competitive soccer, friendly and convenient!

Most/many clubs use Stefans as their uniform supplier, and they keep your kids' information in the computer for easier ordering (online too!). Prices are reasonable. We thought shoes might be pricey there, being a "high end soccer store", but the shoes they carry are competitively priced with other stores. They also have the "good stuff" that other stores won't carry. Check the clearance rack for some nice clothing to wear otherwise - discontinued items can end up there. The store location is convenient and you can usually get help quickly.
