Fried Green Tomatoes & Wings

This place is awesome! All the staff is so friendly too! Thank you Deede, Kyrin, and Beon (idk if I spelled the names correctly) You all took amazing care of us!! Loved all the decor too! The wings were so good, and also the Fried Green tomatoes!

Popped in with friends for a "quick" dinner before a show. While we couldn't make a reservation in advance, we were seated shortly after arrival. Aestically this restaurant is BEAUTIFUL, however their service is lacking and extremely slow. Everything was delayed, water/beverage service and food delivery. From the time we ordered to receiving our food took over 45 minutes. Our server was lovely. The food, once delivered was absolutely delicious. They're simply slow. We had no problem parking. We found street and lot parking for free, which was a plus.

Jerk Crab Dip

We came here on a Saturday morning. The service was pretty slow but the waiters were nice and the cocktails were good. The jerk crab dip was pretty good. I liked the flavor and it was pretty cheese. The French toast was kind of amazing. It's already sweet because of the powdered sugar and drizzle that's on top but they also dip the French toast in cinnamon and brown sugar and it's really good.

Stopped by here while in the area. Heard and seen mixed reviews about this place so initially was hesitant but glad I gave it a try. I got the Sweet Heat Plate which is crispy Hot Honey glazed fried chicken on a bed of yams and collard greens. I throughly enjoyed it. Generous portion and great flavor. The service could use some improving but wasn't awful. I waited about 20+ min for a server to come to my table but once she did she was friendly.

A side of catfish and a side of Mac n cheese
Nikki C.

Flavor Hills did not disappoint. I ordered a side of catfish with a side of macaroni and cheese. The mac and cheese was the real star. It was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. You can really taste all five cheeses, and it was cooked perfectly. The catfish leaned more toward the soft side rather than crunchy. I would have enjoyed it a bit more if the grease had been allowed to drain before it was plated, but overall it was still good and well seasoned. The ambiance is top-notch. I absolutely love the decor. The space feels warm, stylish, and inviting, which really adds to the experience. Great food, great atmosphere, and definitely worth a visit.

Hennessy Peach cocktail. Not that great.

Came to Flavor Hills for Sunday Brunch. We were surprisingly able to come as walk-in's and were seated at a high-top in the bar area. The main issue with this is you are now at the mercy of the actual bartender to also be your waiter/waitress. There was only one person filling this role for the entire bar and all the tables there within. The drinks and food did come out quickly. The portions are good. Even the drink was large. But the issue is the taste. The catfish was good, but the grits were not of proper taste and consistency. The collards were exceptionally spicy. The drink was just ok and I wasn't able to finish it. Come for the vibes and proximity to the theater, but not for the food.

I will dream about this meal for the rest of my life. Literally the most delicious food that I've ever eaten. The chef is so talented and puts a unique twist on classic meals. The flavor is out of this world!!! The service was attentive and friendly.

First time visit and it did not disappoint! The food and service were AMAZING!!! Our Waiter Darius was the best. He even told us the best way to re-heat our food. Definitely will be back next time we are in town. I already told my family and friends that live in the Raleigh area to support.... Now here is my disclaimer as a real foodie. Only and I mean ONLY dine here if you have a palate that likes flavor (people salt and pepper are enhancers.. grow up) and have the maturity to appreciate the unique way the ancestors have lead the chefs to create such flavors and items put together that you wouldn't normally think of. If your palate is on a chicken tenders and French level everywhere you go .. then this not it . But still go just have a dessert and drink ( didn't have any but they sounded amazing) , take several seats and let your life be blessed.!

I was very excited to visit this restaurant. The greeting from host was amazing. Staff were excellent. The decor was urban...it was very clean! Drinks were 10/10! Now...the food is pretty but the pre hype and social media reviews didn't match my experience and expectations. The shrimp app was probably the best thing we had. The shrimp and grits were 4/10. The grit quality and texture was loose and gritty I was expecting creaming southern grits. The Cajun dip: 4/10 - it was too spicy for my personal taste. The pita chips were overcooked and highly salted. The catfish: 9/10 The apple egg rolls were undercooked. Not sure if I would go back for the food. I would return for drinks. The manager was kind and accommodating. She addressed our concerns with grace and a smile which I really appreciated!

Absolutely delicious food served in a funky little place. Everything that our group ordered looked fantastic. Our server was sweet and very attentive. I would go back!

The ambience was well done and the food was delicious. The service was okay but when I asked for utensils to cut the cornbread and to eat, our server seemed surprised. I'll definitely be back and I'm looking forward to dining at the Durham location.

Great service beginning to end. Great food, different dishes from what you typically find at restaurants. Donovan made sure we wanted for nothing. Wonderful dining experience. Definitely would come back when I'm in the triad area again.

The Triple Stack Pancakes

I hate having to leave reviews like this for black owned establishments. I came here on a Sunday at noon for solo brunch and it was chaotic to say the least. I had a reservation, but waited in a line for about 10 minutes before checking in to be seated. They have the hosts at the front doing take out orders and seating people for dine in which is doing entirely too much. When I was seated my server (I think her name is Aleah) came over a few minutes after and was super pleasant. She let me know they were understaffed and had some issues with the fire alarm going off in the entire building. I ordered a mocktail, triple stack pancakes and a side of eggs and the cornbread, total came to about $40. 45 minutes for that to arrive. Food was okay, cornbread was burnt, eggs flavorless, pancakes were huge (I did take those to go because there was no way I was gonna finish). I am also plant based, so there aren't many options for us to eat outside of what I ordered for brunch. I really wanted to enjoy this place but that was very difficult to do. I may be back to order take out because I really wanna try the mac n cheese, buttttttttt. I highly doubt it. Best of luck to the business!

From the staff to the manager to the food, everything was on point. The food truly speaks for itself. They serve small plates, which we love because it gives you the chance to try different things and experience a variety of flavors. We started with the fried pork belly on tostones. It was perfectly seasoned, topped with avocado, and every bite just melted in your mouth. Next, we had the tamarind sticky ribs with a tamarind mango barbecue sauce. This was a perfect example of how simplicity can create complex flavors. The ribs were cooked just right -- not completely falling off the bone, but tender enough that when you bit into them, the meat pulled apart so easily. They were juicy, full of flavor, and had just the right touch of spice from the chili flakes. Then we moved on to the mini arepas, and oh my God. They had slow-cooked pork, guava barbecue sauce, and fried papas on top. The arepa itself was crispy on the outside, warm and fluffy on the inside. The savory pork paired with the sweetness of the guava barbecue sauce was incredible, and the crunch from the fried papas took it to another level. Now, I have a bit of a sweet tooth, but my wife does not. I wanted dessert, and we were leaning toward the tres leches, but our waitress highly recommended the bread pudding. I am not usually a fan of bread pudding at all, but her recommendations had been on point all night, so I decided to trust her. I am so glad we did. They take a Mexican bolillo, soak it overnight in tres leches, then pan-sear it to create this crispy caramelized outside while keeping the inside warm, soft, and sweet. It is topped with crema and toasted coconut, then they pour warm guava syrup over it and serve it with a scoop of coconut sorbet. The layers of flavor in that dessert were unreal. Honestly, it may have been the best dessert we have ever had. And remember, my wife is not big on sweets -- she usually only takes one bite of dessert, but this time she tried to eat over half of it. Lol. I highly recommend this place. The food, the service, the drinks, and the atmosphere were all amazing. And after dinner, you can even head upstairs to work off the food with salsa lessons and a dance club. This is definitely a spot worth checking out! Me alegra muchísimo haberlo hecho. Jajaja.

There are black beans under the skirt steak that were AMAZING. It was just a small option of the dish - not the size of a side portion but almost like a "sauce" under the steak. It was perfect. Seriously, if you can't find a pour you like here, you may just need water instead. Started with the biscuits topped with crackling and house-made preserves, and honestly, that combo alone made me question why I don't eat more biscuits in life. Sweet, salty, buttery chaos in the best way. For the main, I went with the pork chop and greens. The chop leaned a little overcooked for me personally, but the sauce helped bring things back together and added good flavor. The greens had a nice little kick of heat, but I kept waiting for that deep smoky ham hock flavor to show up like an old Southern grandma entering the kitchen... and it never quite arrived. Overall though? Still a solid meal, strong whiskey program, cool atmosphere, and definitely worth checking out if you're in Raleigh looking for a bourbon-forward dinner spot. Travelin_Broke approved with a slight side-eye from the greens.

Her recommendations for pairing the drinks with the food were flawless, and each drink was prepared like a work of art. I started with the raw oysters, paired with a glass of Rose, which I loved. They switched from the Halibut with Fennel to Mahi with Forbidden Rice. The rice is black and inky and potent and extraordinary, but it overwhelmed the fish completely. Still greatful I got to experience it, but I would pair it with something more gamy like lamb or goat. The Pecan pie with warm salted caramel ice cream was nothing short of a spiritual experience, and Hayley's recommendation to pair it with Rum Flip was perfect. Yes, I Ubered. Overall, this one is going to be a frequent hangout.
