Charming Gem We stayed nearby and only found this gem because our hotel did not have the advertised breakfast. While disappointed with the hotel, finding this place was wonderful. The staff was engaged and very pleasant. They were willing to educate and accommodate any questions or needs you had about their food and coffee. They made suggestions and did everything with a genuine interest in you as a customer. Not only was the service wonderful, but so was the Nitro Cold Brew (especially the Gordon Bombay). I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a local establishment to try while in Boulder. read more

Probably the friendliest coffee shop I've ever been to. Skip Starbucks and come here. The cashier with shorter, dirty blonde and the blue/green-haired barista were greeting people by name, starting conversations with customers as they walked in, etc. Totally different vibe from most coffee shops and their upbeat attitudes were contagious. Great variety of coffee drinks and flavors as well as sweet snacks and burritos. Love that this place has tons of parking, nice bathrooms, provides water for guests, has plenty of seating, AND they recycle and compost! Quick wifi. Not a lot of outlets. It tends to get noisy so keep that in mind if you're coming to work. I will keep coming back to this place every time I need coffee in Boulder. read more

What a delight! I am in Boulder for the CAMWS conference, and I had planned to run this morning. I was stymied by cold, rainy weather, and I sought out some local coffee instead. I am conveniently staying across the street from this gem. When I walked into the coffee shop, I was greeted by two friendly baristas with multi-colored hair. They cheerfully served up my coffee and pastry, and then more coffee and a breakfast burrito for two of snacks while I was stuck in due to the snow. Ok, it was a really light snow, but I am from NO, so when frozen stuff falls out of the sky, I am a little disturbed. Overall, the shop is clean, the coffee and food are tasty, and the service is super friendly. Kudos to the folk at Flatiron. I will try to come back and get more coffee before my short stay in Boulder is over. read more

Honey Pot Latte is a MUST! I want honey in my latte anytime I order one now. Simple ingredients make a delicious drink. Honey, cinnamon and vanilla with steamed whole milk and espresso hits the spot. The 8oz was all I needed to savor and enjoy this drink. Our group also ordered a bone dry cappuccino and I was told it was one of the best cappuccinos they've had because it was awesome espresso and delicious foam. This place is absolutely awesome, and it's never too busy. Great location in my opinion and they have all your standard cafe selections plus a seemingly large vegan selection. Great coffee! Great staff! A wonderful gem of a coffee spot! I have been coming here for years and have had many friends work here at different times and have seen the business change hands. It still has retained it's great value, in providing an excellent bean and also many many other "extra-coffee options" (I don't know if that's a word but they have a ton of other great options aside from coffee). The staff here has a lot of fun! And there is always something fun playing overhead... I travel a lot and it's a hobby of mine to work in local coffee shops around the areas I visit. I've been in Boulder about 9 weeks now and have tried many places, but I always find myself coming back here. The staff is so friendly, the atmosphere is so calm and it's a great place to be productive! While the drinks are bit pricey, it's so worth it. Not a huge coffee drinker, so I always get the bhakti chai w/ oat milk and a touch of lavender or their lavender latte (half-caf) and both are must tries!! Also, the vegan donuts are strangely delicious, not at all what I would expect from a plant-based dessert! 10/10 would recommend Flatiron Coffee! read more

Such a pleasant place. I had a fabulous blueberry muffin - so moist! Exceptionally friendly baristas. My wife had the honey pot latte and she loved it! I myself had a delicious caramel latte - and I must say, i've had a "LATTE" of caramel lattes. What I mean is that I've had tons of caramel lattes. And this one was very nice. The vibe is very laid back and my wife and I enjoyed that everyone seemed to be socializing and not just on their macbook. It also seems reasonably priced. 5 stars is hard to come by, but they deserve it. For starters, the employees are incredibly friendly! They were chatting with our little girl and gave some fun recommendations for lunch spots in Boulder. But let's talk about the coffee OMG. I ordered a lavender latte with oat milk and it was one of the best lattes I have ever had (and I have had a lot of lattes!). Oat milk is hard to come by, so we were pleased to find it. My husband ordered the nitro cold brew which was strong but delicious. I would drive 20 minutes from our house just to get my coffee here :). read more

Considering this is probably the most gracious and nice coffee shop staff, I am not surprised their breakfast burritos and coffee match in awesomeness. I addition to to the vegetarian and meat filled burritos, they have scones that looked and sounded delicious. Flavors like peach, raspberry, and chocolate covered raspberry scones grace the the glass box taunting you with goodies that you know you shouldn't have but end up justifying some way or another in the end. They just go too well with a hot cup of perfectly brewed coffee on a blizzard day. The ambiance, though not necessarily cozy, is conducive for good working. Small intimate tables make it easy to work and stay focused, but also allow for a duo to meet and catch up. Parking is scarce as it is in a strip mall, but once you nail a spot, it's worth it. Mind you, I've only been twice, but both times (with different staff), the baristas have been EXTREMELY loud and have been swearing to each other behind the bar. This was a great place to spend the day working. I had hot coffee, food items at the ready, and a plug right next to my comfy table. The only challenge was the noise level, but hey, it's a coffee shop. When I had calls, I took them outside, where they had lots of seating available. My favorite thing about this coffee shop is that it is open and airy, has both indoor and outdoor seating and almost always room. Coffee shops on Pearl fill up quickly and there is definitely an "intense" feel about them, this place is far more relaxed which is better for me for studying. The staff is super nice and the coffee great so it's winwin. My only complaint is they close far to early if they want people to come and use it as their regular go-to study coffee shop.
