My friend and I went and had a horrible experience. Her pizza was undercooked so we asked for it to be put back in the oven. Then my pizza came and it was all burnt and not edible. I was anything but impressed. Our waitress seemed like she was not trained very well. My food not only looked absolutely unappetizing but was soggy and gross to say the least. Pizza should not be like that. I would have chosen Little Ceasers over this. Will not be going here again. read more

I'm not sure when the last time this place was inspected, but there are several things wrong with the way the employees here are handling food. Don't get me wrong, it's great to get a $5 pizza with unlimited toppings when you're willing to forego a normal sized pizza, but both times I have been here, I have been appalled at how this restaurant lets the employees handle the food I'm about to eat. The girls have their hair down, don't wear hair nets or even put up their hair into a ponytail, and grab the toppings for the pizza with their bare hands, no gloves. Once I saw an employee bring in what I assume was a serving of leftover brisket from the hickory. They set down the tray of food on a counter near the pizza toppings, and the employee proceeded to eat the food right before preparing my pizza. I have worked at multiple food industry jobs, including places like Noodles and Company and a smoothie bar. Both jobs had very strict rules about dress code, wearing gloves when preparing food for customers (especially when touching the food), and pulling the hair back into a braid or bun. Some guys with longer hair sometimes had to wear hairnets because it wasn't long enough to pull into a bun. And don't even THINK about eating something on the clock, unless it's in the back room at the table, away from the food prep counters, and during your break. I think the owners of Flat Rock need to seriously re-evaluate the standards they are setting for their employees. If I knew that the employees here were held to a higher standard for cleanliness and food handling, I would love to return here one day for a fresh-tasting pizza. read more

Best place in town to get a make-it-your-own pizza! Flat Rock offers unlimited toppings all for free! All you pay for is the pizza itself. Service was good and very friendly. Something my husband and I liked was that you could still order off the menu from the hickory if you wanted one of their special lemonades or anything like that. Another unique thing about Flat Rock is that they use meats from the hickory so you can put brisket on your pizza if you wanted! Definitely a great deal all while having very fresh ingredients. :) Cheaper and better than Righteous Slice, might I add. read more

I had a coupon and went to take a friend here as nice treat. Come to find they only do gluten free crusts.... Now this is all fine. They have tons of good toppings. However.... The lack of hygiene and customer service was abominable! The employees acted like everything you asked for was an inconvenience. I saw so many violations of health codes I felt sick. One employee sneezed onto his elbow but didn't bother to even try covering up or turning from the food he was prepping.... It was my food.... Some other employee dropped a glove on the floor and went and picked it up, and didn't go to change her gloves or wash her hands. She continued to go and prepare some of the dough! Nasty! After I paid and was waiting for our pizzas to be ready I was watching two employees. One started eating right where the food prep was going on. Next issue is that she would lick her fingers and did not go wash her hands. She and another guy worker both pulled out their phones and stood around checking social media and then burned my pizza. When they took it out the oven, (still hadn't washed their hands) my pizza crust was black. The guy did his best to snap off the burnt bits. I'll add a photo of what was left. It didn't taste good because of how burnt it was. I'm still wondering how they are in business with such disgusting employees, and bad business practices. My verdict, is if you plan to spend $15 on a pizza go anywhere else and spend your money. The employees at Little Caesars will at least smile at you and won't sit on their phones and burn your pizza. read more

Kiddos to Flat Rock Pizza! There were three of us, and we wanted to go restaurant hopping. Went to a few other places before we got to Flat Rock. We weren't too hungry and wanted to split the large between the three of us. Being individuals, we wanted different toppings. The guy there split it into thirds and was super patient with us while we all picked our toppings. The pizza was ready fast and was so delicious! We will definitely be back! I've only gone once and I like to try things at least twice or thrice, so this review isn't final but first time the pizza was just lil soggy . Still liked it cuz imma fatty pero would like crust to be a lil mo crusty you know? Also, the cheese should be replaced with a better cheese . We had a great time. The restaurant is a create your own brick oven pizza restaurant. They make delicious pizzas. You don't pay extra for any toppings including meats from their sister bbq grill restaurant, The Hickory, which is connected to Flat Rock Pizza. They offer great gluten free pizza too, using a delicious Cauliflower crust, which you can't taste is any different from regular pizza crust. We had a bbq brisket and pulled pork pizza, and a creamy garlic white sauce pizza with bacon and bbq chicken. They were delicious. Prices are about 8-12 dollars per pizza depending on the size you order, gluten free doesn't cost more. Highly recommend Flat Rock Pizza! read more
