    Coffee cake and steak salad
    Kristin S.

Dropped in for Sunday lunch. It was quiet here, just 1-2 tables were filled. Quaint atmosphere. Service was efficient, not rushed. Very friendly and attentive. The menu looked great with lots of options but I was disappointed. I love a good flavorful hash but this one missed the mark. The pastrami hash was tough and chewy. The fried eggs on top of this dish (ordered over medium) were bland and runny. Presentation was lacking. Liked the complimentary coffee cake which was a fun treat.

Came here on a weeknight to spend time with old college buddies. It's an inmate venue and we were able to chat and have our own space. Service was great and super easy to reserve a table on google or yelp. They had a great drink menu. Food, I would give a go star. If the food wasn't so pricey; maybe a 2.5. We got calamari to share and each had our own entree. The calamari was ok. Breading was mediocre. No flavor and the sauce was bland. If the calamari was good, I wouldn't need the sauce. I got the cowboy ribeye. The asparagus and potatoes were ok. Nothing special. No flavor. The steak was seasoned with just salt probably. No other flavor. Not even a hint of garlic. Felt like I was going to a very bland dinner party. Won't come back.

We had a delicious meal on New Year's Eve at the Flat Iron. We ended up getting the oysters, ribs, artichoke, and shrimp apps and split the ribeye. It was all so good! We hadn't been there for a long time and are so glad we went back. Totally recommend.

For the price we paid- I felt like this was a bit skimpy The bread could use some improvement

Menu as of Mar 2024 with things that are NOT gluten-free crossed off

Went for breakfast and did not have a wait on a weekend, which was a pleasant surprise. As a gluten-free person, there was plenty to choose from although they did not have gluten-free toast, but they did have gluten-free buns They gave us complementary coffee cake, which my husband enjoyed. I could not have it because it had gluten. I ordered a classic Benedict and they cooked it exactly as I asked, along with a gluten-free bun, and it was surprisingly delicious. I wasn't sure how it was going to be with the bun. The service was amazing. She was always there when we needed her, and she was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, including the gluten and dairy items. She was even able to answer all of our questions about the dinner menu since we planned on coming back for dinner sometime. Since the restaurant was not busy, I asked if she would be willing to mark up a menu for me showing me what was gluten-free and she was happy to. Check out the pictures. I cannot wait to come back for dinner.

I have been here many many years ago and finally I got a chance to revisit today for lunch. The venue is deceivingly big and there is also outdoor seating. It was a rainy day so we sat inside. It wasn't packed or anything but there were a few parties dining. The menu was very straightforward. A few salad options, sandwich options, and entree options. I went with a classic (and safe) steak salad. It came with blue cheese dressing (which is hard to mess up imo), candied pecans (yum!), and perfectly cooked (medium) and seasoned meat. Service was very appropriate (i.e. just right) and the prices were not too bad! My steak salad was 22 dollars which I am sure isn't too different from pre-pandemic days. Everything is so expensive now that a 22 dollar steak salad seems like a bargain! A solid 4 star venue.

Happy hour at the flatiron grill. $3 off any appetizer and drink specials as well. We ordered the clams and calamari and both were good portioned and delicious. Servers were attentive and friendly. The happy hour is generally served in the bar area but it was quite full so they had us sit in the regular dining.

She poured the small rest of my wine into a new glass rather than bringing a refill or leaving me my other glass to finish; very uncouth. The bread "appetizer" was bland and dry; not sure why you wouldn't provide bread with olive oil/balsamic vinegar to dip rather than just the slightest drizzle on a toasted crostini. The bruschetta trio was unshareable: 3 types of bruschetta but they expect you to cut them yourself if you intend for both people to get to try each type in the trio. My gnocchi was gummy and stuck to my mouth and the pancetta was either the smallest piece of pancetta you've ever seen or the fattiest piece of pancetta you've ever seen; not worth $32. Unpleasant experience and we won't be back.

We chose the bar patio, which was cozy, fully covered, and set up with a handful of small high-top tables, making it a really comfortable spot to relax. The drink menu could use a little more detail, since none of the draft options were listed. When we asked about cider, our server checked and let us know they had a cherry pomegranate cider on tap. For beer, the options were simply described as an IPA and a lager, so we went with the lager. It was good, though we never found out which brewery it was from. We also ordered a mule, which was well made. For happy hour, we shared the half charcuterie board ($12), and it was beautifully presented with a great variety. We were impressed enough to stay for dinner afterward. We ordered the burger and the Greek salad with chicken after learning they were out of prawns. Our server also thoughtfully mentioned they were out of Kalamata olives in case that changed my order, which I appreciated. Both entrees were delicious. The burger stood out thanks to the homemade ketchup, which was especially good. The Greek salad was fresh and flavorful, though a bit light on portion size. Service throughout the evening was friendly and attentive, and by around 7 p.m. on a Friday, the restaurant had become quite busy. Overall, a really enjoyable experience with great patio ambiance, solid food, and warm service.

Because this place is in the old town area, there are just small public parking lots here and there and street/side parking only.
