Just moved into the area and I got a terrible haircut at another place. Found Flash on Yelp and it was pretty close to me, so with an already butchered haircut, I gave it a shot. I got really lucky. I walked in a mess at 430 on Monday and met Christina, whose only other appointments available this week were 30min later or Thursday. Today is Tuesday and I'm writing this review, so obviously I waited the 30 minutes, but this is where I'll be making my appointments from now on. With that being said, they only take appointments, so makes yours before you go. Christina is awesome. I've known her for a total of 45 minutes of my life, but not only did she fix a bad haircut, she suggested to try a little bit of a different style while certain parts grew back and I don't know if I'll ever go back to what I considered my go-to haircut. Honest with what would and wouldn't look good based on the type of hair I have, I trusted her and I am so happy I did. The salon is located in the suite behind the building on 649 79th St. Not hard to find, especially now that I told you it's there. The decor makes you feel at home and Brixton, my new friend/her dog, is the cutest. Highly recommend this place to anyone because a lot of passion goes into the work, Christina is very talented, you feel at home, and it's really well-run. All you can ask for. read more

Flash Studios - Thank you, Christina!! - Makeup Artists Near Me - Miami, Florida

Been getting my hair done by Christy for 18 years. Best colorist bar none and she knows how to cut and style hair better than anyone I've ever been to. Would fly across the country just to see her if I had to. I won't let anyone else touch my hair. She just took me from blonde to brunette today. Love her! read more

This is going to be long. I've had a rough couple of years trying to look for a stylist that can make me feel confident about my hair. I've spent hundreds of dollars at other salons. Trust me, it's never about the money for me. I know that for experience and skill, I'm going to need to pay more than the joe-shmoe down the street cutting hair on the corner. But when I pay hundreds of dollars, I want to be happy. And that has not happened. I have a ton of curly hair. I know it's not what most people are used to cutting and I can see the look of fear on people's faces when they have to deal with me. I saw on Flash Studios's Instagram that they posted up some beautiful pictures of girls with curly hair and from that alone I felt more comfortable giving them a call and reaching out. I called and asked for the girl who does the curly hair and I got Diana. When I got there, I noticed that she was running a bit behind as she had another client and I watched her work. It was something I really enjoyed because I got to see how she worked and she was really fast and seemed like she really had so much confidence. When it was my turn to be in her chair, I had all the trust in the world. You have to have trust when you hire someone to do anything. It's why you do things. Trust. I will never ever trust anyone else to my hair that isn't Diana. She was amazing. I am so passionate about how MUCH I absolutely LOVE my hair EVERY SINGLE DAY since I've had it cut and colored by her. I am forever grateful because this is the hair I knew I had. This is the hair I knew I could have. I can never thank Diana enough. I can never thank the girls enough. Because not only are they all good at what they do, they are caring and they don't make you feel like you're not cool enough to be there. I get hat feeling a lot and I thought maybe I was being insecure, but really, it's not insecurity. It's a real, palpable feeling of not belonging at some of these higher end salons. The way I saw them interacting with each other was also something I want to note. They banter really with with each other as they cut and do their thing. They even bounce ideas off each other and they work as a team. You don't see that in other salons with big egos. There's a mutual respect for each other. They're just really down to earth and honestly, you will feel safe and enjoy your time and, most importantly of all, you will LOVE your HAIR. read more

I would give Christy 10 stars if I could. Been going to her for about 3 years and my hair is in the best shape it has ever been. For a person that has been coloring and highlighting her hair for almost 20 years (yikes!) it could only mean disaster. But Christy has come to the rescue by not only giving me "great head", but also using and recommending great products and by giving me the best haircuts I've ever gotten. Ever since she started cutting my hair, it's been a different ballgame. My hair grows uncontrollably and healthy! She's always open to my crazy ideas and has always accommodated me with her crazy schedule. The salon is the cutest thing you'll ever see! You can definitely see their personalities with the decor. As far as pricing goes, they are pretty much around the same range of other competitive salons in Miami. I love Flash Studios read more

Flash is amazing! The girls make sure you're comfortable and happy. Natasha is by far one of the best hair stylists I've had the pleasure of working with. The shop is unique and relaxing. See all

I think Arwen L. pretty much covered all of the bases. However, I will also chime in and say that Christy is seriously the best! She always leaves my hair unbelievably amazing, despite the drastic cuts I have given her the task of conveying. She takes her time, knows hair well and is always honest (which I appreciate more than anything) She will turn your ass out! In addition to her amazing hair talents, she has amazing decorative talents, Flash Studios is so rustic, cozy/warm and inviting. Go check her out, you will NOT regret it. read more

What a cute hidden gem. I'm so happy that I found this place. Alex is so knowledgeable and talented. My lashes are saved!!!

Repost, Went here today for a natural set. First of all, ALEX IS GREAT! She accommodated to me so well especially as a first time client. She is an extremely knowledgeable person and gave me a great run down of lash services to help me choose the right service. I found her after noticing how sharp and clean she does lashes which is very difficult to find in Miami in my opinion. She knows what shes doing, and shes super clean. The space is beautiful, great vibes. I got to know her a little better during my time with her and she has so many passions, she can definitely connect with anyone and everyone. read more

I have never been here - so this review is simply about getting an appointment. I don't think these guys need new clients. I've been calling for two days and I even wrote a message through their website and I have not heard a peep from them. It's a shame, since they look/sound pretty promising. Probably better luck as a walk-in, but I don't have the luxury of time to try and find out. read more

AMAZING HAIR SALON. Diana is such a hair magician! She is awesome and such a master at her craft. Went from naturally almost black hair to an ombré ish effect black to purple then to silver. I went back a month later and got a beauty smoked blue undertone grey. I will be back soon to have Diana work her magic again. A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED SALON! read more

Thank you Natasha! Ladies and gents, look no further for your newest do! This beautiful duet will get those locks looking their best! I went from having long brown hair to sporting the cutest blondest pixie cut that you can imagine. Scary stuff right? Not when you get complimented nonstop after leaving the salon! 1 very cute and welcoming salon paired with 2 very amiable chicas = look no further, you'll wish you had found them before =) read more

I've been looking for a long time for the perfect hairstylist... Christy came highly recommended and I can only tell you that five stars don't do her justice. She completely got me and I came out loving my hair more than ever. She's definitely a master at the artistry of hair! read more

Before you go here just know that anything you do will be overpriced. I went in and spent more than $300 on bleaching and coloring my hair, and not to mention my scalp got burned, I had little scabs on my head for weeks after. Another con is the dye they use for coloring "Wella" is shitty. The color came off days later, (N'Rage will stay on my hair for about a month), so I suggest going with N'Rage instead of Wella, and its probably cheaper too. Pros of this salon is they are pretty friendly and they do a good job. But I just wish they weren't so expensive. But they should know how long to leave bleach on before it burns someones scalp, because it really sucks. read more

There aren't enough characters to really express how AMAZING Flash Studios is !!! Natasha Love is by far the most amazing stylist who has ever touched my hair. She knew exactly what I wanted and nailed the look like a true professional. She also made additional suggestions. Needless to say, I'd do anything Natasha suggests with my eyes closed. This isn't your average stuck up salon where everyone is just "another client". As you get your hair done, you feel like you're hanging out with an old friend and leave looking better than ever. I'd recommend either of the girls at Flash to anyone. Do yourself a favor and just go. You will NOT regret it. read more

The worst hair experience I have ever had. I went back multiple times to give Diana the chance to fix it but they were more concerned with me admitting it wasn't their fault. If you are looking for an experienced hair colorist who can give you solid guidance to help you achieve what you want, go somewhere else. Every time I went in the salon was filled with friends of the owners an employees who seem to be their only customers. They talk loudly about their sex lives and how drunk they all get rather than engaging with actual customers. I have been getting my hair colored for 15 years and I've never cried like I have cried the last few days. read more

Alex is AMAZING at eyelash extensions! They are super natural looking, take less time than most places by far, and Alex is super meticulous about each one being placed perfectly. Plus, the one time I have had an issue, she offered to fix the lashes for me right away :) Added bonus, the location is great, convenient, and clean! read more
