This place is right off the interstate and perfect for a quick stop. It's the type of breakfast place where you're in and out in under 30 minutes. It seems like a very mom and pop place and the staff matched the energy. They do have quite a big patio with a pergola above it, so you only get some sun when you're sitting outside so it's perfect. By far one of the best breakfasts I've ever had (and I'm old!) we had a Mediterranean skillet and an Italian skillet with pancakes. Everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Flap Jacks used to be a chain but after the owner's passing, the individual restaurants were sold off. This location is just off I-65 on IN-32. They have a regular following of locals that fill up the dining room daily. The dining room is dated, but clean. They offer daily breakfast and lunch specials. I had the Eggs Benedict. The eggs were cooked perfectly and there was a generous portion of sauce. The potatoes were nicely browned but had an unsavory metallic taste to them. My husband had the tenderloin sandwich which looked and tasted processed (frozen). The cole slaw was excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive. There's always a story. My husband and I were driving home from Chicago where he'd picked me up after a mother daughter trip to Portugal. We had so much to talk about that we didn't notice we were almost out of gas. He saw it just in time to pull off at this exit and into a gas station across from Flapjack's. Typical pancake house but they make a pretty darn good Benedict! We went on a Sunday so it was pretty hoppin' and had approx 10 min. wait which I think was to be expected. It wasn't just Sunday but this location is right off the interstate. It's always busy! I've been here multiple times over the years so review is based on cumulation of visits. It is about half way between my friend and I so we met up there for Saturday brunch and were seated quickly and also got our food SO fast after ordering! They let us sit there for hours while we caught up with each other and never pressured us to leave or anything. That was so appreciated! Plus most are early drinkers so can start from 7am all out before 10 am. They may take a 4 top table they may take 2- 4 top tables. They keep to themselves, THEY are not a bother!!!! Out side of running to fill coffee cups which can easily be fixed by purchesing those pots Ihop has, and if they are worried they can't turn tables for a tip it's not the case .. Which at the time these guys r there THEY ARE BY FAR BUSY !!! NO ONE IS LOOSING MONEY !!! I have a idea EXTEND your HOURS if it's about making more money !!! This place is fully aware they are ALL that's left !! I know these people and you can charge them for Xtra coffee as some may not seem to have the money most of them do. Also another IDEA if they don't want to purchase another cup then it's some what understandable that they leave !!!! These owners clearly have to much money and would rather have empty tables !!! Heading north on I-65 we decided to stop off for lunch. Flap Jacks had good ratings and any time is a good time for breakfast food. The place is clean with clean restrooms. Waitress was friendly. Food wise I would give them an average. The hubby enjoyed the potato pancake and chicken enchilada soup. I thought the soup was salty. The kids ordered silver dollar waffles and pancakes. They added chocolate chips and whip cream to the pancakes per my request. The one egg kid's meal was not enough for my 12 year old who usually doesn't eat very much. My gyro sandwich didn't have much meat or flavor. I would recommend sticky to the breakfast items. Total came to $39 without tip for 2 adult meals, 3 kids meals, and one adult soda. read more

They were remarkably unfriendly when they seated us, and I didn't think anything of it at the time. But then minute after minute ticked by as we waited in our booth with an antsy toddler, with nobody to take our order or even give us water. At first we thought maybe they were just slow. But as our waitress made an extended show of waiting on the table next to us, avoiding eye contact and never coming over to our table or even acknowledging us; as another waitress served multiple tables that had come in after we did; we eventually decided to cut our losses and walked out. Ok, one pet peeve. It's hard to find a low calorie option on this breakfast menu. I'm an athlete who isn't afraid to eat big (3000 to 5000 calories on training days) but would rather not eat a day's calories in a single sitting. Stuffed French toast is my favorite. Breakfast skillets are consistently good. Country gravy needs sausage (like most restaurants these days). Omelette's tend to be a bit over cooked for my taste, but they are generous with the ingredients. Berry Ola Oatmeal is so good. Great coffee. Soup and deli salad are great for lunch. Our new name for this establishment is Hairy hash browns. We complained to the waitress about a black curly hair in our food. Her response was "huh, we don't have nobody here with hair like that".
