So I stopped in to this place because of the reviews at 4:40 pm. There was a couple sitting at one of the tables enjoying their food and before I could get 3 steps into the restaurant a gentleman came from the back and said we're closed I looked at the clock behind him and my watch, both 4:40, and asked if they closed at 5, which he said "yes, we're closed, please leave." This a cozy little dive spot. It's on Vine, just north of Melrose, right in Hollywood. Really family friendly with loyal repeat customers. I am a regular at this restaurant. But every time I come here with my partner the experience is different and not in a good way. Today's horrible experience was the last straw. My boyfriend's potatoes were cold so he sent them back and the waiter had an attitude about it. My salad wasn't even the portion that it usually is, on top of the fact that every time we come here and get the same thing we get charged differently every time. The racism is real here, an Oriental man walked in and got served immediately while we didn't even get a table touched not even a refill on water or coffee. We had to walk to the counter to pay on top of the fact that we got up and got our own menus. I know the cooks there and since we sent back potatoes, I tried to say thank you for the food and the cook look at me with an attitude. As a chef, I specialize in customer service and food service and this is not hospitality. The only friendly cook there is the Hispanic one the rest even the waiters are rude. read more

Love this place. Been coming here for about 7 years. The burger is by far my favorite. Thin patty with butter lettuce, white onions, cheddar cheese and tomatoes. Pair it with some cheese fries and I'm all set. My sister loves the teriyaki chicken plate, she comes all the way from LB to eat it. The staff is super friendly and the place is clean. Excited to come to this place only to find out that they were closing one hour earlier than their advertised hours. They did say we could still order within 15 mins but they will close at 4pm. I was given both the lunch and breakfast menu and invited to order from either menu. I was impressed with both their menus selection, I ordered the rib eye steak and eggs, the eggs over medium were perfectly down and the rib eye was tender and juicy. I'm guilty of ordering a tuna sandwich on rye from here almost weekly and my boyfriend loves their club sandwich, but we have not yet dined in! I really want to like a place with a name like "Flaming Patty's". But alas, my order from Eat24 wasn't inspiring. We had the French Onion Soup (when you order a bowl sized portion, you get two foam cups of soup) to start. It was served with some bread topped with cheese. Not offensive but not that good. I wouldn't recommend. Moving on... tuna melt with an add-on of avocado. The bread was good and there was plentiful avocado, but the tuna had an unpleasant "fishy" taste that fresh tuna salad shouldn't have. Fries served along side were cute and crinkly, but dry and not tasty. We also ordered a side of onion rings which tasted (and looked) like typical frozen onion rings. Delivery was fast and friendly.
