We took this short drive and discovered a state park right around the way from our home. It's worth a visit. We walked and talked while taking in the fresh air. It was a nice day for water play.

Came here on Sunday around 1245pm, there was plenty of parking and the staffer who was working on the park maintenance really helped my hubby and I. When we arrived my hubs dropped his wallet outside the door because he parked too far. He didn't realize that he dropped his wallet out the door until we had driven to the main park area. By then several cars entered behind us and we really thought that it was a hopeless situation. We asked the worker if anyone turned a wallet in and nobody did. We took our son to play at the park thinking we wouldn't see it again but the worker tracked us down and had my hubs wallet and returned it to him! Now for the playground, since there is so much space they should build an additional playground because on a nice day the park was crawling with kids. And its so small also there's no swing. The trails were pretty short and the river was gorgeous. I wish they had more parking too

Such a cool state park. Love that there are different trails and park areas for everyone's tastes. The bubbling geyser still bubbles. But the flaming geyser no long has a flame (sad! But the history is so awesome). I suggest going to the river trail. Lots of pnw beauty! Haven't done the river float, but a great place to just get away from it all. So blessed to have lush areas like this.

Great spot to get out and walk, picnic or fly a drone. Yes there's a special drone area. Beautiful easy walk, well paved paths. Not a hiking trail. Fun to watch the gurgling Geysar.

Flaming Geyser- as of 2016 some sites state that is is no long lit. The flame has been "alive" since the 1920's, i do believe. We spent the entire day at this place. Started down the river by the play area and got out before the bridge a couple of times. Plenty of picnic tables available in the shade. All the park visitors like myself were friendly. 10.00 if you don't have the Discovery pass (30.00 for 12 months) Why not get the pass and support state parks?? No funding, no parks for us to enjoy all year long. http://parks.state.wa.us/504/Flaming-Geyser

Flaming Geyser State Park is not a very well known park in Washington State. Some might even call it the poor version of Yellowstone National Park. There are 2 Geysers and it's a good place to go bbq and hangout in the park on a sunny day.

I will start this by saying if you are coming for the flaming geyser SKIP IT; It is only an inch high and goes out after a couple seconds. The park is quite big which is nice for a residential area. There is also a lot of space outside the park if you don't have a discover pass/ don't want to pay the fee. This summer I've come once a week and it is always the same person (with short brown hair) operating the toll both, they are really nice. There are a lot of things to do at the park. There are plenty of tables to eat on, some in shade/some not. There is a large green grassy picnic area. Easy access to the river. The river is good for floating not deep enough to swim in at all even though the parks website says differently. There are three trails, 2 are very short and one is nice for walks (it is well shaded). During the week the bubbling geyser viewing area is quiet so sometimes my friends and I will go there to mediate. I have seen other posts where people have complained about off-leash dogs. I'd say as many people do that here as in other parks, it is annoying though. For example, one time I was climbing up an embankment with my dog on one of the trails and someone's puppy was running far a head of them and ran up in between my dogs legs under his belly. It made me nervous because it would have taken me a moment to climb back down to my dog and there is no way I could pull my dog up quickly because he is big. I also didn't want to deal with pulling someone else's dog out from under mine because I didn't want to loose my balance and fall bringing my dog with me. Another time I was walking my cat and two women had their dog off leash who doesn't get along with cats. One of the women was nice and quickly grabbed and leashed the dog but the other lady was rude/entitled and didn't think people should walk their cat in the park so her dog could be off leash -_- But I have encountered rude people with off-leash dogs at other parks too.

One of my real life BFF's was having a party at Flaming Geyser State Park. Seeing as she's a real life BFF I wouldn't miss it for the world regardless of how far in BFE land it was. Plus with a name like Flaming Geyser how could I not want to check this place out?!?! The park is really nice with lots of area to picnic and stuff. It has more than three miles of freshwater shoreline on the Green River, I saw no dead bodies I looked. The park's also has a flaming "geysers" (see pictures) hence it's name which was pretty cool to look at for 60 seconds. Apparently whitewater rafting and tubing are huge here though I did not partake in those activities, no one needs to see me wet trust me plus the water was ice cold. It's a nice park to spend the day at but be warned the Park Rangers are very watchful of what goes on here. If they see people drinking out of "red" cups they will come and check your group for beer. If you're nice they will just ask you to dump it out in front of them, if you're not so nice they will make you dump it out in front of them and give you a ticket, if you're an ass to them they will make you dump them out, give you a ticket and make you leave the park immediately and not be allowed back in for the next 48 hours. We were very nice to the Park Ranger. I will add parking is a pain it looks like there's a lot but not really though the bathrooms aren't too bad for a state park. So if you're looking to check out a flaming geyser drive down to BFE and check out Flaming Geyser State Park.

Nice park close to Auburn. My two year old loved to watch the model airplanes. It was the best free entertainment after a nice hike. There's a small playground and lots of picnic tables. My only regret is not coming sooner

The river was the only part that really caught my attention. Very pretty!

There's no flaming geyser are here anymore. It's a beautiful park though. Beautiful green grasses and you can hike to the river.

So much to do and so much fun activities for the kids!!…read more They fixed the playground so there were additional games the kids can do. The best part is you can visit their website and you can check if the water is okay for the kids to play with . There's usually an update regarding if you can swim and such. The only thing I'm worried about is when there is no one there to facilitate the other kids swimming, because I noticed there were lots of kids who goes there without their parents or guardians. The cops do come around for their rounds sometimes, but not all the time . I always have my eyes on my kids because there were sooooooo many people and soo many kids during school break holidays and I can't even imagine summer break. If you want to entertain your kids for hours bring them here and just have a picnic and enjoy the sand with the kids. Don't forget the shovel and bucket though lol.

Nice pier that goes over some of the lake to take in veiws and to fish. Nice swimming area and it was busy with kids occupying the area but I still felt it was too nippy outside to really enjoy the water. The Funland part is kind of an elaborate wood jungle gym which looks like a great place to let kids play in. Plenty of room in the park to spread out and and do picnics and just hang out. The weekend I went the park was popular with all of it's amenities including a snack vendor which was in the building where the restrooms were next to the lake. Parking isn't too bad but I was a little bit concerned if I was going to find a spot but there are two lots that you can use and the one towards the entrance to the park is bigger. Nice outing and glad I made it here as I had it on my list but I am glad I went when I did because in midsummer heat I am sure this park is super busy!
