In fact this park lives up to it's name accurately. It is a skate park and there isn't much else as far as multiuse goes but it is big enough you could slip in a picnic. Picnic tables and lots of trash cans. This park is well maintained. The restrooms are clean as well. Lots of grass for sun bathing, playing kick ball or throwing the frisbee. This is my neighborhood park so I come here often. My daughter loves the swings. I feel that they could add some newer toys on the playground- they are extremely dated.

I like doing a big circle using sidewalks and dirt trails around the entire park. That's a nice but not too time consuming jaunt. During the spring there is some beautiful cherry blossoms trees on the west side of the park. But what I like best about this park is the recycle drop off points. There is a drop off point at the current time for glass and cardboard. This is a very convenient place to go to do this chore as it's not far from home at all. Stewart Heights is quite good in amenities and if I were to add anymore I'd perhaps add a pond or lake for ducks. More of a pond really...

Like many popular recreation areas, the lake can become quite busy on warm days and weekends, and occasionally some litter is left behind. What I appreciate is that by the next morning the area is often cleaned up again thanks to the hard work of park staff and community members who help keep the park looking its best. One of my favorite things about Steel Lake is that it is stocked with trout once or twice each year, providing great fishing opportunities throughout much of the season. Visitors come here to fish, swim, kayak, paddleboard, and enjoy boating, with only battery-powered motors permitted on the lake. Overall, Steel Lake is a fantastic local resource that offers something for everyone and remains one of the best places in the area to spend a relaxing day outdoors.

The best part is you can visit their website and you can check if the water is okay for the kids to play with . There's usually an update regarding if you can swim and such. The only thing I'm worried about is when there is no one there to facilitate the other kids swimming, because I noticed there were lots of kids who goes there without their parents or guardians. The cops do come around for their rounds sometimes, but not all the time . I always have my eyes on my kids because there were sooooooo many people and soo many kids during school break holidays and I can't even imagine summer break. If you want to entertain your kids for hours bring them here and just have a picnic and enjoy the sand with the kids. Don't forget the shovel and bucket though lol.

The pricing on decks and parts are reasonable, and vary depending on what you're looking to get. They are very transparent with their pricing and ordering options. They have a wide selection of decks, trucks, and wheels, but they can place an order online (as them for more information on this.) Inside there is a cool waiting area with games and TechDecks to play. It's a laidback vibe to purchase pieces for your board, helmets, knee pads and such. Plus hats and t-shirts, too. The best part is they have an indoor skatepark in the back, there is a small fee to skate and/or rent the whole spot. They can help anyone new to the scene practice and train for new skills and tricks, or ask them to modify the ramps for a more experienced skate. A safe place to skate, hang out, get your board serviced and/or buy new parts and gear.

I've seen more than my fill of drunkards, tweakers, homeless, etc. and a man walking around with a large knife... Like the rest of downtown Renton, it is unfortunately not the safest of areas. If you are looking to play competitive pickleball, the community of pickleball players here after 4pm are fairly high-level and many of them play in local pickleball tournaments.
