Absolutely love this park in downtown Puyallup! We've been here probably a million times due to the farmer's market being hosted here, but we also come for the playground not on market days. The park itself is spacious and very well-maintained. There's the big playground, a splash pad (already turned on for the summer!), and the pavillion. If you've never gone to the market here (Saturdays 9am-2pm) you need to go. It's huge and Pioneer Park is the prettiest setting for it! My kids definitely love the playground but it does scare me. The structure here is SO HIGH. My toddler is a daredevil and loves to go to the top which terrifies me. They do have a smaller structure meant for toddlers that is great, but just note that if you have a child that is similar to mine, you might need to prepare for major anxiety. There is a good deal of parking nearby next to the library, but usually I get lucky with street parking not too far, too. I love the location of this park because it's so close to several coffee shops, an ice cream spot, and a few other delicious restaurants. Overall a great park to visit especially going into the summer. read more

Beautiful and spacious park in downtown Puyallup that is right next to the public library. I love this park because in the summer the splash ground is on for the kids to cool off. In the rainy months if it really starts to downpour you can go inside the library which is very nice. The farmer's market is here seasonally and it's one of my favorites. The park itself is beautiful. Loved all the art throughout the park to see while the kids played. The lawns are nice and well-maintained, there's a splash park area for kids, and you can spend a good hour just walking around the perimeter and checking out all the interesting lawn sculptures and statues. Adjacent to the library, this is a great place to chill. A real gem for the city of Puyallup. read more

Very nice park in the downtown area. I randomly ended up at the coffee shop next door and decided to check this park out while on my morning walk. Very, very nicely maintained! They have several art installations around the park, complete with QR codes for a more interactive experience. Nice little rose garden with plenty of places to sit throughout. For the kiddos there's a splash park and a pretty nifty playground; plenty of seating for the adults that need to keep their eye out. Library is right there, so it's a great place to grab some books and then find a place in the park to read. They also have a pavilion for various events throughout the year (well, in normal times, anyway). Definitely a great asset to the community! read more

One of the coolest playgrounds ever! And they recently added a water feature that is so much fun for the kids (I may have played in it a little myself...). My Nephews love coming down here to play on the slides. There are even musical features on the big toy. I grew up in Puyallup, moved away after college and one of the things I missed the most was the beautiful and plentiful Farmers Market of Downtown Puyallup which takes place in the Summer at this Park. The Pavilion acts as a great spot to house a bulk of the fresh meats and breads, fruits veggies and flowers can be found outside the Pavilion. Cooked foods are generally outside along with crafts and other goodies. There's almost always at least one charity fundraiser happening during the market as well. I love this park! There has been a steady rise in quality restaurants, bars and shops surrounding the park and along the downtown strip of Meridian. The Puyallup Public Library is at the center of the park - making Pioneer Park a hub of all that is good in this sweet nostalgic community. read more

AMAZING place! Surrounded by lots of beautiful landscaping and buildings. The play set area is right next to the public library and there's a Kids spray water park area also. Lots of neat art sculptures to walk around and see. There's even a small stage and a little rose garden. They take great pride of this area and it definitely shows! read more

I wasn't overly impressed by Pioneer Park. I do like how the park and a lot of the surrounding downtown area have art pieces and sculpture that give the town such a different feel than most. It gives you something different to look at rather than busy street corners or a blank landscape. It does have a small stage that is used for events in the warmer months and it's near the huge Puyallup library. The grass is really well kept and would be perfect for a picnic or to just sit and people watch or have a cup of coffee nearby. The park I felt was kind of small. I wish it was more sprawling and had a few benches to sit on. The art is nice but random. But I guess it's not an art gallery with a theme or flow. It doesn't seem as though there is any strategy as to the placement of each piece. The area isn't too busy but I went early in the day. There is street parking. The playground is quite large though and is perfect for those with little ones. read more

Perfect location. Right in the middle of town. Nice scenery. Always has interesting art decor. During the summer they have in the park concerts on Tuesday nights. Nice size playground for the kids. Its across the street from Subway and elements. And Anthems is right too, so you can get your coffee fixs. Always a nice place to go and chill. read more

This is definitely my favorite park in Puyallup. I've been bringing my kids here for years, the park is huge and I'm so happy to see how well it is maintained. There's tons for the kids to do, if a jungle gym isn't enough, you can take them over to the water play area and they'll have a blast. Lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance as well if you want to head before the park or after, they also have a farmers market on Saturdays. read more

If this isn't the heart of Puyallup, it is the left ventricle. First is the 70 year old vine with a huge trellis you must see ner the statue of founder Meeker. A new kids water park, the Farmer's Market Pavillion, the library. Its all so clean and spiffy and sharp. Truly emblematic of a great small town park. read more

Pioneer Park is a beautiful park in the heart of downtown Puyallup. It has flowers and sculptures all over adding to its appeal... not to mention that it's surrounded by a ton of small businesses that are also fun to visit. The park has a playground for children and tons of grass for strolling, relaxing, playing with your dog, having a picnic, etc. During the warmer months, there is also a Farmer's Market on Saturdays, which in my opinion is one of the best Farmer's Markets I have been to (and I've been to quite a few!). Great park in downtown Puyallup, surrounded by City Hall, some nice restaurants, and the Library. Large children's playground, surrounded by very beautiful hanging baskets and interesting statues/art pieces. Lots of areas for children to run around, there is also a wading pool, where the city fills up with water on hot days. There is also a amphitheater, where those that can sing/play instruments can come down and play to their hearts content. Close access to food, and desert make this place a great place for a family outing. read more

Really love the splash park it's more for 9 and under my 12 year old only got wet because it was so hot outside, it's smaller than the one in tacoma but the playground is right next to it and has a huge slide that all my kids enjoyed. There's the library right next door but don't go in if you don't have a shirt for your daughters because the librarian will tell you to leave. read more

After reviewing practically everything surrounding this place (Elements, the Puyallup Public Library, Subway, Anthem) and mentioning Pioneer Park in all of them, I think it's finally time I write a review about this amazing park :) This park is nestled in the heart of little downtown Puyallup, and let me say this place does not disappoint. It has lots of nice grass for picnics, frisbee, dogs playing, etc, which is AWESOME during the hot summer months! It also has a stage where during the summers you can hear local bands jammin' out in front of hundreds Puyalluponians! There's also a kids wading pool which opens as well with lifeguards always on watch so parents can be relaxed. The kids play area is big and cool! And the massive library watched over this quaint little park. There are ton of great businesses that flock around this place like I had mentioned above . Overall, love this place and if you're in Downtown Puyallup you gotta check it out! read more

Awesome park! A really great playground right next to a splash pad and library. You can't ask for more! Plenty of lawn space for picnic blankets or free play. There are two playgrounds, toddler and kid, right next to each other. It's a little difficult to watch your little one from just the bench when there are a lot of people around because all it has to offer. But there are plenty of little shops around for lunch or fun after as well. I just wish they had swings. read more
